Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2 revealed

wow this is the new shit... So everyone claiming bethasda to be idiots because adding shit like Fat Man and flaming sword to fallout can now shut the fuck up since those were ideas of interplay's...
Bad ideas are shit no matter who comes up with them. I am sure if FOBOS 2 came out it would receive flak for a portable nuclear bomb.

Heh, yeah true true, but if that game had come out I really doubt that the nuclear land mine weapon would be the thing we bitched about. That little document was full of far more atrocities against mankind than that little gem.

Tactics is hit and miss for me but I like the idea of some of it being semi-cannon. The Brotherhood mission east and the split between the two factions in it. And the attempts by remanants of the super mutant army to fix the sterility problem. They weren't all dumb. And there's something about the robots I just liked, though I doubt that one made it on the list.

As for juM8o.
It's one thing to create a POS idea that reeks of idiocy. It's another thing entirely, to copy the POS idea of another and use it because you think it's "cool". Crap twice removed isn't any better, it's just crap squared.

Don't you go all Netherlandish on me! It's right there on the e-paper! And after sending him a pm asking what it was all about, he answered "soon" once again...

The answer to your enquiry is still no. and I outrank Wooz.

But yeah, I do feel something that NMA's back-backoffice holds treasures untold. But I kind of know it's not true.

 It's not like we haven't tried at times, but it took untold (including to me, since I wasn't involved in it) effort to smuggle out the VB tech demo. Now with the legal wrangling that would result out of something like Van Buren or Fallout source code "leaking", there's just no way.

We never bitched about much specifically after BoS came out. That's because the entire thing was dismissed out of hand.

What is this then?

Soon.

And no, we don't have the source codes of anything. You misunderstood.

Also, AFAIK, the VB design docs have been available on NMA's 'files' section for a long, long time.

Wooz, what was that company's name?

I don't think there's many polish companies making budget games...

Pshaw.

Believe me, I tried. I didn't get the docs themselves, but I got some general bits of info about these locations (and other stuff) from some devs.

Curses.

You could try your BethContacts, I'm pretty sure all VB stuff got handed out to Bethesda when they purchased the Fallout license.

But you probably already did, and told you 'sorry, no can do', either because they would like to and can't due to legal reasons, or because they can't be arsed.

Bethesda won't ever release anything Van Buren-related. Nor anything FO1/2-related, for that matter (like FO1/2 design docs). It's just "not something they do".

We all did at various points in our friendly/unfriendly relations. I mailed everyone varying from Hines and Herve Caen.

As Ausir said, from Hines the viewpoint is it's not something they do. Probably because they want to be as free as possible in reusing ideas, and there's no direct profit in it for them.

Caen's hands are tied. Even if he wanted to (not assuming he does), he can't legally release any new offline content related to the Fallout franchise.

Time to hire a crack team of international thieves to work together and liberate those documents.

Will the thieves be able to work together to get the job done?

Will we uncover a deep conspiracy of terror along the way?

There's only one way to know and that's to do it!

Just out of curiosity, BN, was it more common to receive a replay for those emails you sent than not receiving anything? (I hope you understand what I mean)

I've never not got a reply from any mails I sent to Pete Hines, Todd Howard or Herve Caen, even if it is just a short "no, that won't be possible" note. Same goes for mails to Matt Grandstaff.

If you're talking outside of those people, then part of the job of a game journo is to get used to the slackness and laziness in replying from PR and - even more so - individual devs :P

Wait . . . who's making this? bethesda? If it's good, then hells yes, if it's bad then we can all have something to take our mines off Fallout 3. Either way we win out (if you have a very pessimistic view on life)

In the movie

"Who let the docs out!?"

Starting Ben Afleck and James Caviezel

I see where the problem lies, its the same as interviews with game developers on some conference about the new games that are in development but refuse to talk about, they actually think they have a choice.

Just get yourself a nice powerful handgun and make it clear to them that they really don't have the deciding vote in this matter.

Remember to go for the legs first if they still refuse.

This doc is for a game that was canceled 5 years ago.

Well, maybe if you'd play ball and push their agenda more, maybe you wouldn't get the cold shoulder huh huh?
