thanks a lot :), 2 things i dunno if they are normal or not:

1. you cannot talk to children? or if you talk the previous message pops up if you spoke to some adult.
2. when someone talks more than the speech box's size then it goes to side 2, so if you want to read the full text again you have to click review, is it normal?

oh and i dunno if it's cause of the patch? maybe something else? i cannot play sadly :(

Yes I'm using the red graphics for dog meat which by the way was a neat idea.
 
I'm a little bit disappointed though.. only visited Shady Sands yet and on my way to Vault 15, I met the traveling guy that gives charisma. But since I knew that I don't meet the requirements yet for him to offer me the song, I reloaded. The next time you meet him, he usually remembers you, so I think you only have one chance to gain the charisma. Anyway, when I left, it crashed :( It never crashed at that part I think. But sadly, I don't have anything to give you, cause I couldn't reproduce the crashing, nor did I see any messages.

Oh yeah, I wanted to let it surprise me, but, did you fix the Children spy quest? Probably not, otherwise all the other people before you could have fixed it already. :(
 
For the next version I've decided I'm going to have 3 downloads available, to save download time for people who don't need the extra stuff. There'll be Fixes Only download, Full download, or Full + German Uncut download.

alpha 6.1 is finished, but I couldn't upload it because my internet connection is hosed. I hope to get it released tomorrow (going to the library to use their internet connection).

fallout.cfg in the upcoming "with Uncut Patch" download will leave "Language=German" setting in fallout.cfg, is that what you mean? It won't include all the German dialog files though unfortunately; no one has translated FIXT into German yet.

EDIT: Oh I get what you mean. If you're willing to try both that would be great:
1) Install it on top of US/UK/EU version, seeing if the game reverts uncut status just by changing to Language=German in the fallout.cfg
2) Install it on top of an actual DE/German version and see if all the cuts are restored.

it still crashes sadly :(

always on the map from shady sands to the south... i took off the weekend and wanted to play fallout, bummer.
 
I'll have patch uploaded tomorrow, it should fix those issues.


I'm still a little confused about the world map crashes, because personally I've never gotten one.

Those of you getting crashes on the world map, could you please send me contents of your:
f1_res.ini , ddraw.ini , fallout.cfg


You can send the files to my email, or use PasteBin, or put them in a post here, or put them on a file upload site. It will be very helpful to me, thank you :)
 
I've only crashed once or twice since the new version of the mod came out. It's usually by shady sands like the user above.
 
I've received the files from three people, thanks guys. I'm going to see if there's any similarities in settings. I really wish I could duplicate the crashes, it's hard to fix something that you never experienced :( I have never gotten crashes on the world map except for specific issues that were already fixed.
 
Sduibek, you should also have NMA separate your works appropriately in the Mods and Patches subsections of the Files section, respectively.

I spent minutes wondering why oh God why they took down FIXIT after finding out that it's not in the Patches. :D

is the game disabling someone elses win7 aero? visual skins isnt checked.
 
This business with the worldmap crashes makes me sad. I've never duplicated the issue, not even once, and it seems many people are experiencing it, despite changes I've made to attempt to alleviate the issue. I don't even have any clues to go on. At this point I'm just stabbing in the dark, hoping I stumble upon a fix. It's very frustrating :(

That option with bug fixes only is pretty interesting. It's always nice to play a cleaned-up version of the normal game.

Just for kicks, which version can I expect my files to pop-up in?

Anyone who downloaded 6.0 is urged to download and play 6.1 instead; 6.0 had major issues with almost 70 scripts due to an oversight of mine.

VERIFYING THAT FIXT IS INSTALLED PROPERLY:
- When loading a game from older versions, a dialog will initiate with a warning and will display the current version.
- Click "CREDITS" on main menu will begin with Fallout FIXT credits, and displays current version.
- Version is displayed at bottom-right of main menu background. (May be hard to see at higher resolutions)
- If the player examines themselves (hold mouse over self, click-and-hold, release on Binoculars icon) they'll get a new message.

ADDITIONS:
- Uncut patch is now integrated into Fallout FIXT :) for those with German version of Fallout. This includes all missing death animations, death sounds, cut interface icons and the uncensored cinematics.

INSTALLER OVERHAUL:
- Mod is now 3 separate downloads. Fixes Only, Full Custom, and German Uncut. This is to save bandwidth for people who don't want to download or need to download all the extra stuff.
- Fixes Only download does have some customizations available.
- However, the Fixes Only option within the Full Custom and German Uncut installers is not customizable.
- In the Full Custom and German Uncut installers, there are now "Standard" and "Full" install options, which give the user the ability to experience the extra things FIXT offers, without the huge list of spoilers of Full Custom.

FIXES:
- Fixed improper implementation of "Flare is not a weapon" code that caused major issues. (69 scripts modified) [Bug introduced by FIXT alpha 6.0]
- Various small fixes and improvements in about 20 scripts.
- Installer no longer erroneously links to Fallout FIXT.bat

CHANGES:
- Children's max "run to here next" distance raised from 7 hexes to 28 hexes. Now they appear more realistic in their play. (Previously if you watched for long enough, it was very clear that it was just a scripted routine)
- Installer now uses previous tasks, setup type, group and install folder by default. This should make it more streamlined for those upgrading from a previous version of FIXT.
- Restored some code in the exe that differed from the exe that FIXT uses as its base. I'm hoping this will help with the worldmap crashes people are getting.
- Tweaks to ddraw.ini and f1_res.ini default settings. (again to attempt to help with worldmap crashes)
- Player is only informed if a door is locked on an Examine. (Previously all you had to do was hover the mouse over it. Casually glancing at a door is not possible to determine if it's locked.)

NECROPOLIS "HALL OF THE DEAD":
- Door guard no longer has the 10-second combat timer introduced in previous FIXT versions. Instead he has:
- Door guard has dialog and code restored that shipped with game, meaning player can bluff (Speech) or talk (Reaction) their way into the building.
- Door to halls is now LOCKED by default. (It is unlocked by default with vanilla game, which makes no sense considering the guard's dialog saying you're not allowed to enter)
- If player passes sneak check in addition to standard lockpick success, can enter by picking the lock on the door.
 
Fallout FIXT alpha 6.1 released!

Okay, I won't be updating anything for a while. After literally working on this for a month straight, I need a break.

I'll be in Los Angeles for the next 8 days, so I'll be taking it easy B)

Sincere apologies to Khalashnikovf and Luffier ... I meant to include their hard work of the Czech and Spanish translations respectively, but I kept getting crashes when not running in English and I need this released today because I'm leaving town tomorrow.
