Fuck Bethesda
Okay. *Edit* Stealing from Aradesh causes the game to crash.
That's why you'll always be seen as a better modder than me.killap said:I never outright refused, but I certainly just passed over the offers. I've never setup a paypal or similar system for donations and honestly don't plan to. It's always about giving back in my eyes.
Yeah I'd like to get to it, but there's so much to do in the Fallout1 engine still. I'm always torn on which is better to focus on...JimTheDinosaur said:Haven't played it yet, but if it'll get you working on the conversion sooner, I'll chip in .
lol about Tim Cain, I hadn't thought about that being the reason why he stopped responding. What kind of stuff are you referring to, regarding details? I know it's my gift as well as my curse but it'd be interesting to me if you recall specific examples.JimTheDinosaur said:(for those who think I'm joking, go back and read some of Sduibek's posts; the guy has an attention to detail that scares me sometimes, and definitely scared Tim Cain).
Okay I've got this set up. I feel kind of bad accepting donations, but I'm a student right now and my finances are shit, so if someone is gracious enough to send something I'll gladly accept itSalk said:Sduibek, what about donations? I think they'd not solve much in terms of economical issues but it'd be a small tangible way of appreciation from those who enjoyed FIXT a lot.
It seems like when the player clicks to exit (on the left) they start running the opposite direction. Yes?coldroll said:
Hi! That's not an easy answer unfortunately... I think maybe down the road I'll have more install options than just Fixes and Custom. For the time being, many of the things optional in the installer are "just for fun", meaning the devs didn't really work with that at all, I just implemented it because I thought it was a cool idea.Caine said:hi, ive got a question, i never played fallout and just received my Fallout 1 USA Retail edition, i wanted the REAL first uncut edition. i read a lot about thismod fixing bugs etc. thats always nice
so i want the game played like the devs wanted it to be but of course with less bugs and so on, which option would you recommend?
No, it's not best to just click ahead without reading them -- I know the list is long, but the options are meant to be considered.Caine said:i used now the 0.60 alpha and installed RECOMMENDED mode with all default checked options, i didnt click any at all. is it the best original experience with fixed experience?
Mash's high resolution patch does leave some screens in their original format, like the New Character screen. I'm not sure why he does it like that. I've reported the issue to him previously.Caine said:and another one i used the resolution 1920x1080 but the menu options screen, creating character screen etc. are small not full sized like the videos, the main menu pic, is there a fix or which resolution would you recommend?
i also see too much from the map when i start which spoils the ways too early.

Strange bug.
EDIT: Ah! I think I know what's causing it. Thanks for the report. The edges of this map's scrolling is messed up, I need to confirm if that's my fault or if it's from the Hi-Res Patch...

This brings a good point though, I'll work on a third install option, a selection for those who haven't played the game and don't want all the spoliers of reading through that list.

The "fix" here is really to just play at a lower resolution Which is why I leave it at 640x480 by default. Personally I think anything higher than 800x600 just doesn't make sense for this game, unless you're a tester or modder.
Anyway you can browse through f1_res.ini, some of what you seek may be in there. The options should be documented well enough to be clear what they do.
I think this is fixed in my files now; just tested and he works fine, socoldroll said:Mysterious stranger doesn't fight.
That's a good point I forgot about that. I'm almost done with the patch (it will be released today) and in that I've changed the installer to "use previous" on all settings. Folder, tasks, Start menu group, etc.Schezza said:So, I assume there is no interface that saved what options you previously selected, in case you have to test a couple things?
Some code is original, I think most of it is TeamX though. Either original or TeamX. The only significant invasion code I've written is in Shady Sands. But I plan to rewrite it for all cities -- this is because the invasion code as-is results in "frozen bodies". Using a "kill_critter_type" command does this, so the kill code instead has to be manually added to every critter script on the map. Time-consumingSchezza said:The invasion on the other cities, was that already in the code or did you do that all by yourself?
Could you explain more or maybe phrase differently? I'm not sure what you mean, I thought you were asking about Super Mutant invasions..Schezza said:If so, couldn't you have written an option where we could have actually saved Zimmerman? Like me, there should be a dozen people out there, who wanted to save him...
You return to Boneyard and Zimmerman stands besides Razor and tells you about their incoming son, wouldn't that be cool?
Yeah, I would be glad to test this.Sduibek said:SpookyNooky, once a version including Uncut Patch is released, would you please test for me? I want to make sure if you change to Language=German in fallout.cfg that it doesn't revert (saw your Steam posting about that) and also make sure the sfx exist, because your link there said that in Fallout 2 version they even removed the gore sounds.
Just a simple piece of advice - Id put the link in my signature as wellSduibek said:I have set up ability to make donations here.
