Yeah, worldmap crashes are a bitch.
Do you implement the new Hi_Res-Version in your next FIXT-version, Sduibek?

Do you get this same error with a new character?hypnos said:grat job, sduibek.
i ve encoutered another bug, though. i ve played fallout with fixt version 6.0 and got a beth bug described earlier by others. then i reinstalled fallout and patched with fixt version 6.1. beth responds as she should, but leaving the map makes the game crash. soemthing likeCode:application error c:..falloutw.exe. the instruction at 00bd4d80 referenced memory at 0000000c. Sure.Sduibek said:UniversalWolf could you try updating f1_res and see if that makes a difference? It can be downloaded here http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1435
If you are able to confirm this 100%, please let me know.UniversalWolf said:Your new files appear to have fixed my crashes before updating f1_res.
No I didn't think to check into audio. There's well-documented need for disabling hardware audio acceleration for Fallout on some systems but I've never heard of it causing crashes, just issues with behavior and performance.Schezza said:Did you check if all people used sound cards?
Last game I played, I had to run with "--softwareaudio". Gonna try the same now.
no, everything seems fine after a quick glimpse with a new char (i made it to hub, talked to beth a then tried to step on exit grid. everythings ok)Sduibek said:Do you get this same error with a new character?hypnos said:grat job, sduibek.

100% is going to be tough considering the nature of the crashes, but I can tell you everything is working so far. I may start a new game since I saw the most problems between Junktown and Necropolis.Sduibek said:If you are able to confirm this 100%, please let me know.UniversalWolf said:Your new files appear to have fixed my crashes before updating f1_res.

What is your OS?
See if this helps:coldroll said:Sduibek said:No I didn't think to check into audio. Hmm... that might be causing the problem maybe. I have an Asus Xonar DG with custom drivers found here.

I can tell you this as well: before I installed your new files, I had saved on a mutant patrol random encounter in the far northwest corner of the map, and I was getting crashes every time I tried to move on the worldmap. After the new files, the crashes vanished. It's not 100% verification, but it's a very good sign.
