Fallout 1 mod Fallout Fixt - next release will be some time in Jan 2020

gamefront eh??
well that's a bummer gamefront doesn't support downloads from my country. for now I'm fine with the patches already downloaded earlier, but when the next version comes out I hope it's going to be gamefront plus somwhere where i can download those files. btw Sduibek I left You a note in other topic concerning mediafire... since there is no mediafire links i'm unable to verify if the files are indeed infected or not or if just that unlucky guy has a trojan clipper/dropper etc. somwhere on his sytem btw folks use adblockers and noscript like add ons whether chrome firefox or whatever it doen't hurt and You often save yourself a lot of headakes...

Could someone mirror the "Full Custom" download file to Megaupload or something?
I can't download from Gamefront, it goes to the "your download will be ready soon" and then after a few seconds the next page says that it couldn't be loaded.

I'm working on it. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I tried downloading a small file and it worked fine, so it ain't blocked for me.

When I tried to install it at the end it said "Extended Copy Utility has stopped working".
That something to worry about?

Ehhhh probably not. Presumably that's a failure of XCOPY.exe which I'm currently using as a rudimentary way to back up savegames. I need to find a better way to do that...

Fallout Fixt is now mirrored at Google Drive, and uploads of files & screenshots to moddb.com are pending. Thank you all for your patience.

Okay everyone, the first post of this thread now allows Fixt to be downloaded from 4 locations:
GameFront
Google Drive
Mod DB
GitHub

So I just installed Fixt an hour ago and have tried multiple times to reload my saves (I downloaded the mod because I was getting a crash in the Cathedral Vault entrance) however I can't load a single save state, I'm just getting the same crash from the vault entrance and even after replacing the saves with back ups the crashes continue. Has this happened before? Would you happen to know a fix? I couldn't find anything about it on your bug list.

there is a bug/crash on catedral that comes from a bad file inside fallout 1's iso that comes from "alternative" places, could that be your case? i know it was mine. ;) :P

It could be, the only problem is I'm unable to load any old save, though saves not in the Cathedral simply state the save is unable to be loaded while any Cathedral saves simply crash the game and give me a long string of numbers and mention the memory could not be loaded.

I can double-check but I'm pretty sure it says in multiple places during the installation that old saves are not compatible. If you're coming from any non-Fixt version of Fallout, your saves won't work with Fixt.

EDIT: I've just modified the source code for the installers so that it warns more strongly of savegame-incompatibility :)

That being said, there's a hack that could hypothetically work. Go into {Fallout Fixt}\DATA\DATA and rename VAULT13.GAM to VAULT13-Fixt.GAM

This will mess up future characters significantly if you don't rename the file back to its original title before starting new games. But it can potentially allow you to keep playing a vanilla character with Fixt.

Thanks, However it didn't ultimately work because it just ended up bringing back the issue I downloaded the Fix for, so I guess I'll just suffer through the restart.

Would there be any way that I could edit a few things so that the timer til Vault 13 runs out of water is back to normal, it's showing 60,000 days now on my play through.

If you're playing Fixes Only, that's unfortunately a glitch but will be fixed in the next release. Anyway If you go into {Fallout Fixt}\DATA\DATA\VAULT13.GAM you can change this to whatever you like:
Code:
VAULT_WATER :=64000; // (10) How many days left before Vault 13 dehydrates to death?

Will the new patch version include the typo/grammar fixes? I always find those distracting when playing an RPG.
Should yes. Are there any besides "Nevermind" that you are referring to?

Hey, so glad to see this is still updatin'! :-)

Sduibek, what are precisely the changes that came with 7.1?
Yep ;)

--> Alpha 7.1 released <--

Changes since alpha 7.0:
- Now includes various icons you can use for shortcuts or whatever, in {Fallout Fixt}\"Icons (.ico)" folder.
- Holding capacity of the backpack and duffel bag increased by 50% each. [RATIONALE: Realism. In vanilla they were very close to the holding capacity of the small bag. In actuality they'd hold quite a bit more than a small bag.]
- Reverted some PIP-Boy UI text changes. (Thanks tuluse)
- Fixed issue with flamethrower and nonworking flares.
- Fixed issue with party member HP display.
- Fixed issue of "bend down to pick up" animation playing when it shouldn't.
- Fixed some other minor stuff.

Existing broken flares in your inventory will probably still be broken. Sorry guys :(

All of mine are under the Text, Dialog, Spelling, Grammar Bugs section.

Junktown prositute response- "Maybe you can. How much to you charge?". Should be 'how much do you'.
Lasher, Cathedral- "All children are wicked beasts. It is my duty to force them into evolve into human beings.". Should be 'force them to evolve into'.
Laura, Cathedral- "I snuck up to the front one day and found a strange mechanical device with a lens under the altar." Should be 'and I found', just to comply with speech file.
Laura, Cathredral- "Every once in a while, Morpheus will go through a secret staircase leading below the Church. And he enters a secret door with some kind of key." Should be 'of a key', again, just to match speech file.
Doc Morbid, Junktown- "You seem exited to see me. Why?". Should be 'excited'.
The Hub, Beth- "It's some kind of demon that found it's way here when the world was engulfed in fire." Should be 'found its way'.
Came across a pack of wild Coyotes, when talking to them, the text "error" displayed above them as if it was a speech response.
Nicole, Followers- "Well, the rumor is that there was something so important there, that the area was saturated with bombs to insure everything was wiped out." Should be 'ensure'.
Nicole, Followers response- "Thanks I can use all the help I can get!" Should be 'Thanks, I can'.
Sister Francis (I think, will double check)- "Well, I could, but the ones who go through the Servitor process are so much better than I am... Their minds are so much more focused on the Master than mine. Maybe after I get changed, I'll get better. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must" Should be 'get better. Now, if'. Missing space.
The Glow Pip-Boy note, Log Date January 7, 2077- "Major Barnett has ordered transfer of all FEV research to the Mariposa Military Base." Should be 'research to', looks like a double space.

Ah yes I see them on the wiki page now. Odd, I didn't yesterday; must have been having issues with my browser. Thank you

Does FIXT repair the engine so that ammo damage mods are calculated correctly? As I recall, the only thing that makes a difference in Fallout is DR modifiers.
