Fallout 1 mod Fallout Fixt - next release will be some time in Jan 2020

Dropbox keeps suspending my download links because of how much FIXT is getting downloaded; you can just use the Mediafire or Gamefront links though, they should work just fine.

I'm looking into getting hosted so that I don't have to worry about suspensions any more.

1.) When the resolution is set to 640 x 480 the title screen can't contain all the text at the bottom.
It does on mine, actually. Screenshot please.

Still having problems with Duc- if I remove his msg file I don't get errors but neither will he talk about Shady Sands or take me there. Removing his script doesn't seem to change anything either way. Any ideas?

Edit
Removing SCRIPTS.LST seems to have fixed things. Hopefully removing it won't break anything else. . .

I would forget about Duc. It's fixed in the newest files anyway, it's not an issue at this point.

Don't remove SCRIPTS.LST, that's bad.

Thanks for everything you do for the modding community as well Sduibek! FIXT is becoming the "must have" Fallout 1 mod!

First off thanks for making this mod. Makes modding so much easier & gives me a reason to play Fallout again.

I'd like to report a bug though. If you go to Razlo to try & get healed at Shady Sands but don't have the required caps he turns you away. However there's a dialog option where you can ask to barter instead. Even though I gave him nothing he still acted like I had bartered him something for the healing. Seemed odd.

Anyways, thanks again.

Added the bug to the wiki, too.

I've a question about invasions-
can you save towns from them or simply after invasion nobody is alive and you cant do anything about it?

This.

It's been discussed before about maybe making them dynamic in the future. I think that's a cool idea. Like the player could somehow stop or slow the actual invasions instead of it just being a flag (like it is currently).

Up to date Czech and Spanish translations will be included in the next version. And maybe Russian.

Also, next version will always check if user chose Bloody Mess, and if so, will set Violence Level to Maximum Blood. We don't want a player's oversight to prevent them from seeing delicious gore 8-)

Also, the Skilled trait will be fixed in the next version so that it givse +5 Skill Points per level like it's supposed to.

Maybe finding it in progress, if went in a certain timeframe. This would probably imply entering combat mode when you step in.

I can do that. Wouldn't be hard to do.

Could just have a percentage chance the person is a corpse, instead of gauranteed, based on how close to invasion date it is or how long past invasion date it is.

Might be interesting to add dead mutants to the maps it makes sense, also. Like Brotherhood. I hadn't thought of that yet.

I'm also going to do my best to include more DOS-specific files in the next version, for people that are doing things like playing it on Android.

There will also be DirectX included.

Have you tried hosting it on google drive?

Ehhh... I don't think so. Thus far my experience with Google Drive has been that it really sucks.

A great example is that I was trying to use Google Drive app on the PC to upload files for translations, and I spent probably five hours trying to get it to work -- nothing. I switched to Dropbox and it worked immediately. No setup, no thing, just works, and it's never had even the most minor of issues.

Unforseen issues is an annoying part of modding. I forgot about how the game links Sound IDs to graphics filenames, so I had to rename all the NPC graphics files for Katja/Ian/Tycho which is a tedious process of running over a thousand files through a batch renamer.

EDIT make that over 2000 actually. oh well.

I need testers, so please if you have time to playtest some things, send me a PM or email or reply to this thread. Thanks!
