Fallout 2 mod Fallout: Nevada (extended)

Hi ! I've a small issue. I've begun a new game of Fallout Nevada, and after a while, I've seen a small error (put one special point in luck instead of intelligence at the creation). So I've used F12se to modify this, but when I try to save my change, i've a message telling me "The size of the saved data is not equal to the size in memory" and I'm unable to save my change with the editor. Do you know what can cause this please ?

[Edit] I've not installed the game in program files.

Fo:Nevada has a custom modified Fallout2 engine. it may not be possible to edit save files with F12se.. this is weird especially that Fo:Nevada comes bundled with F12se. However it is generally not a good idea to edit Fo:Nevada savegames with F12se.. bugs, glitches & crashes may occour.

Thanks for your answer. I've found a way to make it work, some permission to add. But now I've a bug with the quest for Milo, can't reach the note. :'( Not the best start I've done with this game.

I've a new issue now. I'm playing with an european version of Fallout II, and... I don't have any children in my current game of Nevada despite having installed the children patch. Any clues or ideas please ?

Any mod\game based on Fallout 2 engine, can be edited with F12se, additional configuration may be required.
!! But it has to be done carefully, being aware of the consequences. This is warned about in the description of the utility.

About problem of "no children", try to put the appropriate patch for pure Fallout 2.

Thanks for the tips according F12se.

Strangely, I've installed the children patch for pure Fallout 2. It works fine if I launch a game with Fallout 2, but even I launch a new game (I've even tried to reinstall Nevada extended), still no children. Well... I haven't the issue if I play with Crazy Nevada.

Version of Fo2 with 1.02d (BIS\GOG\Steam) or 1.02e (UK)? In the first variants, it works fine, it was not checked with the second one, but the differences (should be) minimal. You can apply the patch to F:N as well (although the patch has already been applied)

Thanks, I've a second version of Fallout 2 with steam (but uninstalled for now), I'll probably try to install this variant.

I want to make sure that the issue I'm running into isn't a bug:

If my character incurs enough radiation, I lose a strength point and it doesn't come back regardless of treatment (doctor NPC, radaway). The "Radiated" status still glows red in the character screen, as does my carrying capacity (now reduced by 25) in the inventory screen, even though my rad level is zero when I use a Geiger counter. Is this mechanic supposed to be there?

I'm ok with a loss of special points, but the threshold before losing one was only like 100 rads (and, usually, they come back after a while). I just thought it was weird that the "Radiated" status was still there. Has anyone else experienced this?

The main thing is that the parameters do not fall below one, this is fatal. You need to get 500-1000 rad to go irreversible consequences (if I'm not mistaken)

If anyone is having issues with not being able to access Vault city after the distress signal, if you use the fallout 2 save editor, go to the world map tab and change the Vault City(Arroyo) state from 0 to 1 and it should get vault city to show up again. hope this helps

Where can you report bugs found in Fallout: Nevada (fixed edition)?
You can write a bug report here, although we are discussing the mod version here

...and change the title of the first post from "Fallout of Nevada/Фаллаут Невада" to "Fallout: Nevada (extended)", without Russian symbols.

It's been a damn long while since I posted in this thread, let alone keeping up with everything posted by everyone else since.

What is this "Fallout: Nevada (extended)" that the thread's title speak of? Is it just the Fixed edition?

In the first post there is a description of the versions...
Extended - a general reminder for extended versions.
  • There is the original - 1.02 (w\o hrp, drop s, etc.) [standalone]
  • There is an extended version - Fixed edition - 2.x [standalone]
  • There is an extended version in the form of a mod - an complete\extended mod [based on the fixed edition]
