Hmm...

On the Weapon one, at about the one minute mark you can see what seems to be a new Power Fist.

One that isn't just a metal plate with some pistons and googah on it.

Me wantey.

Isn't it the one with a shotgun built in or something?

No, there's a energy-type sound effect and visual accompanying it.

It's around the one minute mark.

There is a scene where I believe the Ballistic Fist is used, but it's a bit later when they're talking about the special Melee VATS moves.

Thanks for the post, but just a minor concern though: with the companion wheel and having to select 'talk' from the menu, does that mean that all dialogue with recruited companions will take place while the wheel is up and covering the character? If that's the case I think I would have preferred going through the dialogue trees in the old format.

Edit: scratch that - I'm sure that when selecting 'talk' that it reverts to the standard face to face zoom-in. Whew

Cheers Ausir

Also, the way they speed up the in-game footage does the third-person camera animation no favours at all, unfortunately.

Ooh, interesting gun with the Poseidon logo on the back of it :) And they're really showing off that wacky astronaut outfit

I'm afraid I'm still at the "WTF" stage and may remain there for a while. Well, at least it sort of looks "50s".

And damn, there isn't targeting in melee VATS still.

The suit is part of a quest line called REPCON. It's about a ghoul suicide cult that believes that they'll ascend to a higher form of existence if they pass through the Van Allen belts, or something like that. The cultists all dress in that kind of spacesuit, which I think they manufacture themselves.

Okay this was really a face palm moment.

At some point the commentator mentioned how people did not like if the classics were changed, but how Obsidian is doing something special or something.

What classics?
Fallout 3 itself broke head on with the classics by turning Fallout into a stat based fps.

Are classics defined now in a handful of years instead of a decade or so?

Edit:

It is in the new feature movie.

Die hard fans?
What, did Fallout 3's fans stick with the franchise for ten years?

Is this something that you still think is worth bitching about? Its a lost battle, my friend.

The phrasing as a classic somewhat makes sense, at least these days. FO3 was Game of the Year all over the place, and one of the best-selling. Its as much a classic as Brett Favre is a "Hall-of-Fame" quarterback. He not. But he will be, and I'm sure FO3 will be as well.

Well, I expect the Hermes armour to return (the red nvg helmet, in case anyone's wondering), so this might not be that much of a stretch...

Quite possibly the Hermes armor is the 'Gasmask + trenchcoat' combination that is seen in the cover art. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/H3RM35_armor
A Bethesda user noted the H3RM35 sign on the antenna in one of the promotional renders.

EDIT: Unless I got it wrong and you were already referring to that. :P
