Fallout: The Frontier - Released!

Hell, according to Tgspy, they had no idea why they had the story take place in Portland other then "they thought it would be cool".
Ok wtf, no time in History has man ever said Portland and Cool in the same sentence so the idea of them wanting to set their mod there is just silly.

Fun fact! Portland here in the Pacific Northwest is mostly known for it's strip clubs even being called "The Strip Club Capital of the Pacific Northwest". A lot of young men here like to go to the clubs once they turn 21 and have a day of hard drinking and sex. You know, given the amount of sex fetishes in this mod this is all starting to make sense.

I'm going to hold you to it!
I promise I will do it. It is going to take some time though. I really want to read The Anatomy of Story first. I also work 30-37 hours a week so I am going to see if I can get time in between my breaks to write the rough draft of my essay first before I post it.

Not every event that can be somewhat compared has to be 1:1. I see what he's saying. Khans are people of the wasteland, NCR is fast government growth that absorbs anything in their path and has to squash or assimilate any locals in the way. Saying they both came from the Vaults is kinda pointless as if that was always something we had to ask about, any allusion to this idea would be moot since there aren't foreigners coming to the US in Fallout to colonize it.

Yes, in this case the Khans do reprehensible shit like raids and pillaging and drug trade. The NCR though, is still evil in a different manner to many, many people of the wastes. Even the innocents. Look at how Easy Pete feels about them within a few minutes of playing New Vegas.

Yeah but the NCR is pretty much angels compared to the khans themselves, they are willing to negotiate and actually behave like civilized people, not try to behead you with a high caliber gun the moment they see you and go after your family next, in new vegas the game even gives you karma for killing them lol.

Not even doing that whole argument. NCR is ripe with corruption and other flaws of democratic systems while trying to always expand while they can't even protect the people they're taxing in a world that's recovering from a nuclear war. Not exactly a force for good to the common man who doing just about the same but now they're being taxed because to them the government is practically another gang. They get attacked by mutants or raiders? Shrug, sorry poor farmer. Sucks to suck! Can you pay your taxes now? Thanks.

The only place that got attacked was nipton but i'm pretty sure they were independent anyways, the game did a very poor representation of the struggle mojave wastelanders go through, so they just sound like whiny bitches who just seem to hate the NCR because it's cool and not for actually legitimate reasons, everyone sucks the Legion's dick because of "muh safe roads" even if they actively destroyed every settlement they spot and crucified every single survivor which included the eldery and children, if it wasn't for them the NCR would have cleared the mojave off raiders in just a few days and made it into a better place generally, there's also a reason why people would prefer the NCR having control more than the Legion after all.

Well, everyone in the conquered lands do. Not the border / war territory.

The game makes it a point that exactly this did *not* happen.

Is that case? We know they steam roll every tribal they come across but aren't towns and civilized settlements given the choice of following The Lex Caesar or getting put to the cross?

Nipton supported the legion and still got destroyed.

Nipton was a cesspit on the level of The Den that got bribed into handing over NCR and Powder Gangers and got a Traitors reward for it. wasn't exactly in Legion Territory either.

There's 48 pages of bullshit. At some point it's simply enough.

From what I understand the Legion's treatment of the Mojave is different to that of the non-tribal settlements out East because they make note of those who bedded with the profligate NCR. Now, obviously, considering the game's scope is limited to the Mojave this makes them even more unsympathetic but the way they treat the Mojave and its locals is apparently not how they normally go about things.

Guess this thread is dead, no answers for an entire day.
You're new here. Chill out. Main forums are a bit slow sometimes. Fallout 76 was almost 3 years ago. There's not a lot that can be said for New Vegas, 2, and 1 that hasn't been said before. Sure, people still argue and talk about it from time to time but you won't see activity popping like this isn't a forum from 1997 when games aren't releasing. Not to mention, what do we even talk about with 76 here? Not much. We post about updates and mistakes the game has, someone usually actually spends the time to play it, says it's bad. We all laugh, say what could one expect though?

People will respond, especially if you provoke conversation. It just might not be instantaneous.

To give this pile of paste one more good whack. TGSPY is doing a dev commentary playthrough of The Frontier (updated version)

Slight gravedig, the rework of the mod has been completely canned.
