Have you thought about how big this game will be? so far youve used 10.74Mb on just the city selection, music and descriptions. At the rate you're going you'll be at 700mb before you know it Just a note, the mouse moves a little too fast. Is that the games fault or mine? I like everything you've done so far! Once again, keep up the good work!
@Specialist, my opinion is that if it continues to be as good as it is so far size is no matter to me. Look at that crappy first Fallout Tycoon, it is small, hell i can't even play more than 5 minutes before it crashes to desktop. Cheers Thorgrimm
A lot of that size is the music and the world map. The world map is 4.3 megs, and the two songs that are in the game right now are 6.56 megs in total. The rest of the game shouldn't take THAT much more size. The songs I'm going to put in it and all the tile graphics should balloon it up to 20 megs. 40 megs at the most. EDIT: I don't know about you, but the city selection part takes up 11.5 megs on my computer.
Oh! I know why its a different size for specialist: I published the swf flash file for the game, but I gave you the exe version. The game will be in the exe version, as it avoids a lot of issues. (If you don't have the right font, the words look different and crappy in the swf version)
May I critique your intro exe? Please, I'm not anal, I just want to help. First, I suggest moving the word 'Tycoon:' up to the line with 'Fallout,' so it's more like: Fallout Tycoon:... Rebirth than: Fallout... Tycoon: Rebirth. Also, during that bit about the weapons, it says 'Keep you weapon with you.' I think you meant keep your weapon with you. Also, you may want to add some of those classic squigly lines, you know, like where a hair or something got stuck on the projector lense? Or maybe one of those moving lines that run vertically, where, like, the film roll got creased or something? And at the end, the music scratches and you see where the film slips off the wheel? You've probably seen it in cartoons. And in the FO2 intro, come to think of it. Juzza sugjeshun.[/i]
Thanks for the tips. I don't mind people correcting my spelling, its abysmal. I usually paste my post into MS word before I post it. “Hooqued in funix worked fur my, new E spill cat C.U.N.T.”!
hehe, the map overlay looks just like the one I did for v0. http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/redfez/vault/map_preview2.html So far, it's all looking great . Look forward to playing it, especially since I could never get the first one to run.
Wow, I never noticed that the two maps together would mess up the locations so badly... Maybe its the shifting fault lines? Anyway, your game is looking pretty good
Hey, man.... the map looks just great! I don't know if the cities are in the right place (well, they look like they're in the right place...), but it's a great work..... the buildings are very beautiful too.....XD But i have a question(sorry if someone had already made it): how will the people look like? you'll get the sprites from FO and FO2 and shrink them? anyway, your game's lookin' just great! Hope it gets better and better and get over that first fallout tycoon (i never made it work XP) (sorry for the english..... if there's something wrong with it)
Yeah, I am going to shrink the sprites from FO2 and use them in the game. There's nothing wrong with your english, but for some reason the original Fallout Tycoon did run on my win xp.

Books So tell me what you guys think.
well, i think that it's ok.... you could put vehicles, like cars, trucks and stuff, y'know, for faster and safer transport...... but that would need research, coz most of the pre-war cars are less than junk boxes with wheels and they need full repair...... like the car in FO2..... that's just a idea.... but all the other stuff is ok.... it's a great idea to divide food in "luxury" and "basic"...the luxury gives more satisfaction, right?
Calculon00 is the iguana meat going to be Bob's "special" iguana meat from Junktown? And if it is does Junktown have "mysterious" population losses? Cheers Thorgrimm
lol, no, I don't think ill be putting the "select cuts" in the game. As for the cars, yeah I was going to put car on here, and also car parts, but I forgot. k, ill add these in the technology section: Cars Car parts Bringing the total number of resources to 68. Also, the user will have to build a garage to manufacture cars. The prodauction will be like that for a lot of things.
I would also recommend hemp as a plant, And not for smokin but because it is a very strong natural fiber, that for hundreds of years it was used to make rope and other binding materials. And since they are climbing back up from the stone ages they would need rope for many things. Cheers Thorgrimm
That’s actually a good idea. Actually, I already have "herbs", and if it weren't for the illegal aspect of pot today, people would probably just consider it a herb, so i think ill just include pot in the herb resource. Ill make a new resource, "supplies" though, to represent the rope and other miscellaneous items. That brings the total to 69. (Hehehe)
