Fallout's Deceitful Marijuana Agenda?

If you ask me, we should all do the same they did in Portugal. Legalize ALL kinds of drugs. I'm 100% serious. It won't solve all problems, but it sure will help a damn lot if we 1. decriminalize that shit and 2. if the shit people take is actually of higher quality. Less criminals, less crime (to get the mony for the drugs), less deaths due to bad stuff and no stigmatisation so it is easier to get away from it and asking for help. Research and experience shows, that it can change a lot of things and improve drug problems.

Oh my god Crni, are you saying you want to just HAND out drugs to CHILDREN and PETS and GARDEN SONG BIRDS!?
Research be damned, it cannot possibly be a good thing to SHOWER society with FREE DRUGS for EVERYONE

Was. It ain't canon.

Marijuana is a pretty common plant in a lot of places, it would not surprise me if there are samples of it in the Fallout world.

Its just that its properties are useless to gameplay, so there's no point adding it.

I'd also argue a lot of the cut content really should be canon.

It was to be in Fallout 2 though.

There was a lot of entirely weird, off the wall shit that was in Fallout 2, but most likely wouldn't be considered canon by anyone trying to take a serious look at the overall "timeline" of the series.

I don't think it's necessary to explore the details of whether or not the setting has marijuana in it, unless if it has an actual function to further the narrative.

I honestly think that adding silly things to canon, provided it does not alter the entire setting, is fair.

Its stupid shit like "ALIENS UNDER THE MOJAVE" which pisses me off.

It IS a weed after all. If something would survive the apocalyse ... but probably in a heavily mutated version that's catching and smoking people or something.

I imagine most of Fallout 4 can be contributed to a group of nearly illiterate game developers and a brainstorming session made during a lunch break at Denny's.
If you throw some cocaine or LSD into those meetings ... it would explain a lot though.

"Look, dudes, dudes I have this totally crazy idea ... what ... if the vault dveller is looking for his ... SON! This time?! Huh! HUH! Yah all dig?"

"Wohaaaa that's so deep man"

Punga always seemd like a lazy weed joke to me while I was playing Point Lookout. The way people under its effect acted gave me that impression as well with the faux hippie/easygoing routine. Missing brain pieces not withstanding of course.

Weed?
Again, I imagined some hard core hallucinogenic, considering the, well, hard core hallucinations.

Seriously, cannabis does not enduce hallucinatons, even if you smoke a big fucking pile of it, you'll just "green out", as in, vomit yourself and feel really shitty.

LSD, Mescalin, "magic mushrooms" give hallucinations, but even they will typically not enduce strong visuals, more like just a "potent feeling of differentness" (since what they do is tweak how your brain analyzes incoming stimuli, nothing more)

Rant not so much directed at you personally here, but the trope in general.

How many Marihuanas would you have to snort to get hallucinations?

New Vegas did it right, you eat some poisonous root with other flowers and even then you still see most of the world as it is.

Oh, yes, you mean in the Sulik DLC?
Yes, that was pretty cool actually - and surprisingly realistic portrayal of a "trip". I found that sequence very entertaining

Oh ffs you literal minded fellows. Way to miss the point and pile on to boot. I was not talking about halucinations don't put words in my mouth or infer otherweise please. Who the hell even thinks weed does that? I'm in my mid 30's , I know the effects of weed are like ffs.

The speech patterns and mannerisims of the people in the church are very lazy stoner stereotypes. The self medicated easygoing hippie types. The punga plant model looks similar to a huge nugget of bud. These were the things I was speaking of in my earlier post.

When the hell did I infer that the part of PL where you wander out of the swamp area after having a chunk of your brain cut out Is the effects of punga and not you know.... having a chunk of your brain missing. Which is why I stated missing pieces of brian notwithstanding.

But, okay, fair enough!

I was just comparing the dumb Tribals from Point Lookout to the better protrayed ones in Honest Hearts. Chill Juza.
