First Impression of Fallout 4

In fact the fallout bible states (wrong or true) that the Enclave attempted to make stronger and cheaper versions of power armour, yet failing in making armour that was better then T-51b... oh shit... T-60b might have been made by the enclave which means... NOOOOO!
Easy there Tiger, it's very possible that the Enclave just poured money into MIT to fund a Power Armor development program, hell they're probably responsible for the T-51b being possible. They didn't get involved in direct production until after the bombs fell.

Well it states they directly attempted to make armour after the bombs fell, hence where the iconic enclave armour came from. This armour while technologically advanced lacks the strength and defence capability of good ol T-51b.

Truly the Advanced Power Armor X-01 is a testament to what technological competence with a survivalist mindset can achieved in the wasteland.

Hmm... yes?

Sarcasm or no.

No, no sarcasm it's genuinely impressive that they were able to produce power armor in a resource scarce world. That's the one thing I respected about the enclave, rather than just maintaining tech, they sought to improve it despite limitations.

I actually like to imagine that the scientists of the Enclave simply used the older models and took years if not decades to reverse engineer the technology behind the power armor, as most of the knowledge was lost after the bombs droped, and later they just improve it leading to the Enclave version that we saw in F2.

But like I said, there is no reason to believe that the T-51b Power Armor was the only power armor that existed. Particularly if it was a proven and reliable technology before the great war. As Willy Rogers said, WW2 is a perfect example for a lot of it. WW2 saw a lot of standarized equipment manufactured in the 10 thousands, like the Sherman, T34, Panzer IV etc. but it also saw some very rare and exceptional designs. Most on the side of the Germans, but still. The M36 tank hunter and M26 Pershing heavy tank have been both relatively rare tanks compared to the number of Shermans that have been out there on the battlefield. The Pershing saw really only very few engagements in WW2, considering how late it entered the war. Of which the Panther vs Pershing is the most known.

For all we know, the T-51b could be the Sherman of the Power Armor where other, eventually more sophisticated models, have been specialiced units with low production numbers. I mean it isn't rare that many different companies get the task to design a tank, and they come up with different designs. Most don't leave the prototype stage, but still. Before the Pershing or any other heavier vehicle was deployed on the european battlefield the Ordnance Corps of the United States Army started development of several different prototypes and paper projects on heavy tanks as early like 1940. Who knows how many models of Power Armor, maybe even just a handfull of prototypes could be present in the Fallout universe. As long it just doesn't pop up out of nowhere and has a reasonable explanation for it's existance I am willing to accept different models. Like I said, the US was in war with China for a couple of years in the Fallout time line.

I personally like the idea that the Enclave wanted to make other models of power armour, and it would be certainly interesting to see some new ones. Might write a fictional story on an Enclave equipment tester testing a new power armour type, in an experiment that goes horribly wrong.

If the Fallout world is like our own, new pieces of technology for military use are in development for as long as multiple decades before they're put into use in the field. So there were likely any number of "eventual replacement" power armor technologies that someone somewhere was working on designing, and as the Enclave was well-placed within the government they likely had access to all the files on the next generation of unreleased power armor, so they used that as a starting point.

Let's review their most likely power armour aims.

1. Strength and better defence capability.
2. Cheaper and less materials needed.
3. More advanced with better capabilities.

Those most likely are their goals, with some oddball ideas scattered in.

Yeah, Ghouls only started "getting healed" and shooting radiation pulses when Bethesda acquired the series....
I remember them getting healed in Fallout Tactics, it was a trait. Also getting nourished from is not far from getting healed by it.

Look up what Ghouls and Zombies are, the difference between the two, then tell me that they are "zombie flicks". Also, why the hell would it not be logical for them to be healed by radiation? The reason why they are Ghouls in the first because of RADIATION, for Christ's sake.

EDIT: By the way, there is a difference between being "zombie-like", and being an actual zombie.

Any D&D or RPG player knew Ghouls were post apocalyptic zombies moment they saw them. It's what they're. Ghouls are in most settings just higher level zombies with running and maybe with more intelligence. Go and be bitter about something else with Fallout 4 please? Non-feral ghouls can run and so can feral ones.

More intelligence? They had the capabilities to make settlements and trade. Mate, get your knowledge right before telling others off.

I'm talking about feral ones since whole discussion is about feral ghouls shouldn't be zombie like. Generic ghouls are animalistic and seldomly can build communities(and even then most of the time they go berserk), they show intelligence only if they're regularly feeding "AND THESE ARE THE EXCEPTIONS". However at the core they're higher HD zombies. Yet if you want act like caricatured version of an old gamer go ahead.

Eh, Fallout 3 hasn't done much with ghouls, sadly. If there will be more in Fallout 4? Or just again more canon fodder. We will see.

That last one would be a cutscene where you tap a key on the keyboard to continue. At this rate it wouldn't surprise me if that's how they did dialogue in Fallout 5.

It's fun how Fallout 4 is almost down to Kingpin: Life of Crime levels in terms of conversations.
Kingpin had three options, Good, Bad, Neutral/Question. It was enough for the game... Because it was a First Person Shooter from 1999.
To be fair, it also more awesome dialogue ("FUCK YOU FUCK!", "FUCKING PUSSY ASS!", and the all-time classic "FUCKEEEER!"), better fire-effects, and better voice actors and music (both involving Cypress Hill).
Also, it was published by Interplay back when Interplay was still cool.
Kingpin: Life of Crime > Fallout 4.

... Seriously, I want a sequel for Kingpin. That game just ruled.
