NPC-killing madness but someone obviously finds that "teh awesome"))
It's not that, quite on the contrary actually. But I do like walking around in PA, wielding a Mega Power Fist - and there's the problem - I'm a level 1 guy without any protection, not even a spear in my hand. It only takes 3 rats and less than 30 seconds to kill me. It's impossible to level up. So we HAVE TO gang up and take some poor NPC's life, or kill and rob other players to get money/weapons/RADIOS (i have about 25 radios so far, what the hell?!). The wastes are rough and the only thing we want is to be safe, man.
I guess once the project is going to a bigger stage (as in beta?), with real shops, translated quests, optimized combat, better outside encounters and all, it's going to be a lot more peaceful in the towns than it is now. - by the way, it would be great if you guys kept the shops as they are in the original (tubby with the chems, flick with the guns and etc.).
I think the whole "testing" thing is going great, though. I've only encountered very few bugs so far:
1. Came across some bugged "wastes-map" (very bright map) while traveling, used ~toglobal, everything fine
2. pack of rats attacked me, and while I was about 20 hexes away, they still inflicted damage and killed me
3. movement of critters is a bit bugged, especially the radscorpions, they tend to jump around alot (might just be the higher framerate, though)
4. i
think some of the skills don't work the right way (locking doors, for example, seems to be impossible)
5. not a bug, but annoying: being able to die (for a rather long period of time) after logging off. After logging back in, I found myself back at the respawn-point stripped of all my gear, guessing what happened. Maybe it would be better if you could still die, but not be robbed after that.
that's it, for now.
gotta say it again: you guys are doing a great job so far!
