FOnline open test

I played it yesterday a little bit. But my russian is really bad so I didn't know, what I should or could do. So I leaved Den and then... I saw the big worldmap with no other towns or other points. I wandered slowly around, was attacked by rats and died. Then I thought, the game was freezed or so, because nothing happened. After a while I was transported to a location, that looks like a Vats/Navarro thing. I wandered (slowly) back to Den, saw some rats and scorpions, I run away until I was back in Den and there I talked to some guy, he attacks me with 28hp and I died... again.


By the way, I would love the Fallout 1 setting more. The worldmap, the towns, etc.. ;)
 
Modoc - to the right of the Den, about 6 or so
Klamath - 7:2
New Reno - 18:18
Redding - if you go to New Reno from Den you'll be walking by
Vault City - 24:6
NCR, Sanfran, Gecko, Navarro - somewhere, don't remember but you can look it up on the original FO2 map

Arroyo - better not to go there, not finished

There's a new location, primal tribe - when you die you can go to the left and find it.

i might miss something, and there's no Broken Hills.

If you don't see anything on the map - that means you never been there, just like in the original game.
 
Ok, so I have to go to the coordinats and find the location?

servers seem to be down because of technical issues with the provider... damn you!
i just reached level 2...
took me 20 minutes to beat the crap out of a golden gecko...
 
Well, I wanted to download it but the link is either broken or not working ATM. No FOnline for me, it seems.
 
Small question: Will there be a linux client too? Would be ultra 1337.
 
if comeone could port a DX8 app to native Linux binary - that would possibly do the trick. But i heard it works under WINE, didn't try though.
 
I tried it with wine, but the window close itself after starting the game. So it wasn't possible for me to play it with the lates wine build (1.0-rc3).

EDIT:
btw. I've got Net Framework 2.0 and the newest VCredist but still I've got an "application configuration is incorrect"-error when I open the FOConfig.exe - any ideas why?
 
Has anyone infos, when the server will be available again?
 
D'oh! I forgot to report a bug. If anyone can access the
official forum say that the UK version of Fallout has no
children in it and thus they were invisible to me and some
of my friends who had the UK version. We also had someone
who had the US version and he could see them. Is there
any way of fixing it on the server?
 
Install the children patch on your Fallout 2.


/Edit: If you can't connect to the main server, open the FOnline.cfg and go to "RemoteHost=213.170.115.146". Change the IP to 80.92.105.241 - this is a second server.
 
It is temporary an alternate server, as far as I know. But you need to create a new account.
 
This is the first game I have been addicted to in years, and it is not even finished! I love it sooo much.
 
Yes, I love it too, but... well... I died again, I have no possibility to get better equipment, every town is looted, etc... :/
 
public announcement from our team leader:

The company that provides internet connection to the server 213.170.115.146 is on the maintenance and the server will be offline. Use 80.92.105.241 for now. Tomorow the network will be up but the IP address will change. New address will be announced here.
 
that does mean that our old 213.170.115.146 character is as good as deleted, deosn't it?
Or will we be able to get it back with tomorrows server ?

I kinda liked my morpheus with PA and our Gang's car...
