Why is the Finn a knife wielding maniac. Sure they beat the Russians, but that doesn't make them collective badasses.

"All Finns carry a knife. Every single one of them. Even that little 5-year-old girl behind you. No kidding! Getting one's first knife is an important coming-of-age ritual for both girls and boys."

from http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Finland

That said, my grandfather game me a knife, when I was 10, and all my young relatives as well. Coming-of-age thing :D

Wouldn't Australians AND Russians do something similar? They have a fitting personality to it

All I know about the Nordic countries is everyone is extremely blonde and its cold.

The exact opposite of Iran then D:
I guess most of the world can be summarized in this way, except for the countries where everyone has brown hair, and the temperature is uncomfortably bland

I mean you're not wrong. The vast majority of people (Myself included) have brown/black hair. Tho we have a few gingers and blondes. (Shah Ismail was known to be ginger and left handed) Hell even as a really small kid I was briefly dirty blonde. As for the weather for the most part its very warm but its not a desert (though there are more arid/deserty places). There are still winters/falls and even Tehran gets plenty of snow.

Then, if you're getting specific, we have our share of dark hair as well. Traditionally our norse god Loke was always black-haired. A friend of mine growing up had jet-black hair, and some rare summers we can get up to 35 degrees C

At this point we pretty much just shut down, and national warnings are broadcast on TV to hydrate and stay in the shadows. The elderly are rushed off to hospital, with heat strokes

I mean 35 is pretty hot, maybe not the entire nations shuts down hot but isn't exactly super pleasant.

tho high 20's and mid 30's is typical summer weather in Iran.

I get the impression Iran has a lot of height though, and height - as well as distance from coast, tends to make countries a bit colder, despite being far south.
I have family in Spain, and every August they are treated to 40-45 as a common thing. My aunt describes it as the month where people get their guns out, and start popping themselves, which says something about the comfort levels then... :D

Yeah Iran and Turkey are pretty elevated unlike other countries in the region which are mostly desert. So you're probably not wrong.

Talking about Finnish grocery stores, here's a vid of an American guy who works in Finland visitng a Finnish grocery store (not Lidl but one of our 'own' chains). You see how there's plenty of rye bread options, and coffee options? I think the individually wrapping the vegetables thing is to keep germs from spreading from people who handle those in when selecting the best one to buy.

And about those slot machines, the winnings from those go to public health, they are mostly if not all owned by RAY, the Finnish slot machine association that owned by the government.

I know some of you, if not all of you here, are very talented artists. So, I bought a relative some oil painting colours (in tubes) and some acrylic paints (in little bottles) and two packages of paint brushes in two boxes. I'm now reading about what else I should get. You can 'dilute' acrylic paints with just water or some special paint thinner, for oil paints you have to use special mix. In both cases the brushes can be cleaned afterwards with stuff we have called pine soap or with turpentine. Don't leave brushes in the turpentine for long.

I guess I still have to get some of those mixers and then some painting canvases to paint on. Fun to shop christmas presents.

I thought Australians were all about carrying machetes, wrestling Crocodiles and wearing Khaki shorts.
Bah, rumours and lies. Only a select few of pathetic Aussies conform to those stereotypes. Most of us are respectable.... well it gets worse the further from the city you go.

Back in the day, I had one Australian exchange student in the city, as well as several Aussies online, angrily (and a bit desperately) correct me in my trollish assumptions that Steve Irwin was some kind of Model Australian, one all Australians strove to be - and talk like. I usually apologized for my faux pas, and moved on

In retrospect I should have really let them have it
CROIKEY!!! THATS A GRAMPY ONE =D

Actually, Steve Irwin was quite controversial before his death, and often lambasted by the media for being a boorish, loud and lacking proper respect for animals Aussie. Of course he died... and he became an icon.
