Ad 3: No, not really. You only (indirectly) mentioned Germany and genocide once, but didn't really go full Godwin so far.

Not sure I'll be singing UK's praises. It seems that after Brexit UK is swinging even further to the nationalistic right. Where did Nigel Farage go, weren't they going to make him their 'fuhrer'?

Or like staging a propagandistic referendum when you know it has no validity in the UN and then having the official posture of saying the Crimea referendum is invalid for the same reasons. Or better yet, disregarding the validity of the treaty of Utrecht for Malvinas and then invoking the same treaty as the main argument to stay in Gibraltar. Ohhh thats a good one :lol:

I don't get people who are pro legalization of marihuana but ONLY for medicinal porpouses and just completely and staunchly oppose it's recreational use. Talk about just wanting to take the extra step to still be a douchebag about it.
 
Having looked into the issue, the studies about the harmfulness/benefits of weed, I'm not entirely in favour of 100% legalisation. Even big supporters like Joe Rogan in his show has agreed that the human brain develops a lot until the age of 25 and up until that point it might not be a good idea to use any weed. Joe also agreed that those with mental illnesses shouldn't use weed. And he's very strongly in favour, smokes on his show, etc. Then again he's not much of an academic kind of guy.

I don't get this argument that alcohol and weed are somehow mutually exclusive. Usually the people who use one use the other too, often at the same time. Which is called mixed using. And there is really no real reliable studies about all the possible combinations that weed could be mixed used with and the adverse effects that could result from all of those.

I think the frequently used comparison between Weed and Alcohol is that Weed is no more dangerous than Alcohol, yet for some reason we consider Weed an unacceptable drug that the state needs to push against, yet consider Alcohol a perfectly acceptable party-drug.

I don't think anyone thinks the two are mutually exclusive, just that being fine with alcohol but not with weed is hypocritical.

Both have their own unique negatives. It's like debating gun laws with NRA-fanatics, their favorite argument in defence of flooding the society with guns: "Yea but....what about ICE CREAM! It's killing people and you don't care! There totally should be guns everywhere because ice cream is bad for you!"
