When you open a pack of sour patch kids, people think you're getting the same thing every single time. I can say, as a connoisseur, that this is not the case. You have many variables that will determine the quality of sour patch kids. It varies in texture between tough or chewy and tastes either sour and sweet. You want to aim for a compromise between these variables for the best possible batch of sour patch kids. I can't say how many bags have been too tough or too sweet that made me wonder if I should go for something more immediate like sour skittles, but then I get an absolute home run of just dead center precision of sour and sweetness with just the right texture.
