General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Installing Jagged Alliance 2 for the first time.

Anyone have any opinions about this game? Anything I should know in advance?

Victoria:Revolutions

I got the german unification event for prussia right at 1850 after the liberal revolution. There were only 6 5% chance checks and got it

One of the scariest games ever made : Defcon

Btw, check out the beautiful ambient music...
Really creepy stuff.

I've had a lot of fun with that game too, especially online. So simple, yet so addictive...

I'm currently playing Euro Truck Simulator (trying out my new steering wheel) and Battlefield Vietnam with a Norwegian friend.

Bought Manhunt the other day, its pretty good, a decent stealth game.

next game I get is Jagged Alliance 2

Ground Control & the expansion. great squadbased RTS without having to manage a base and building stuff etc.

(it's also up on GoG.com for only 5.99 USD, and it's certainly worth that!)

Finally caved and bought Psychonauts. Played through the (huge) first level, and I'm loving it. It's funny and endearing enough to blind me from the fact that I despise third-person platformers.

Also borrowed a friend's copy of crysis to finally give it a real playthrough, since I had tried the demo way back when it was released and thought it was a piece of shit.

Well, yep. Still a piece of shit. Graphics are unimpressive unless you're playing on ultra, but then you're probably going to have a pretty crippled framerate. On medium or even high, up-close world textures look like they were ripped straight out of morrowind. Muddy, blurry and ugly. I guess it wasn't ALL bad though, the awesomely stereotypical engrish accents the korean soldiers have had me laughing my ass off the entire time playing.

Been playing Blood Bowl lately. Steep learning curve, absolutely awesome game

Been reading your LP on the codex about that. Man your so much better at it than me.
Maybe I should play a less squishy team than humans.

I started up in Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise again. Despite Professor Pester annoying the hell out of me I'm having a blast.

And then, enjoy being shot by plants. Them camo-Koreans are absolutely invisible with their high-res texture uniforms backdropped against a high-res forest.

Get Igor, Grunty and Barry in the beginning.

Max out your Wisdom,Health, Agility Strength and Dexterity.

Go for Night Ops.

After your first playthrough: Get Version 1.13

I am looking into getting Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines now that I have a computer to play it on. $20 doesn't seem bad. As I've read here and other places, I may have to patch it with fan made patches and the like.
So stupid question. If I get Vampire off of steam, would I be able to use these patches?

I bought it on steam 2 weeks ago and it haven't had a problem with the patches. (love the 16:10 support)

I just finished Harbinger.

Diablo in space. Lotsa details that are totally aggravating, but not too shabby either.

Interrupts are based on the "Level" stat so you should hire one upper level merc (3-4) to start who has a decent gun (rifle). Terrain can be a little dodgy so I prefer to take the high ground and stick to the rooftops. Switching between standing/crouching/prone 2-3 spaces from the edge allows you to pop in and out of LOS and take shots without much hazard of being attacked back. Keep a safety character on the roof just to shoot anybody who climbs up to attack.

Finished Mechwarrior 3, thanks to a fan-fix that fixes most of the game's problems (gravity, collisions).
Damn, blowing shit up with an Annihilator armed only in ER PPCs is always fun B)
