General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I guess they figure it increases overall revenue, but why not shed the SP and only charge $40, or $50? Just make skirmishlike battles like in BF1942 (only one I know well)

Indeed, allowing new players to play against bots like in previous Battlefields is never a bad idea IMO. Now you can't train your piloting "skills" anywhere but in an online game.

Because they want there product to reach as many people as possible.Single-player is for people who don`t or can`t go online to play multiplayer. However,as far as I remeber at least,Devolpers and producers of games are losing revenue thanks to this mindset that a game needs kick-ass sp and mind-blowing mp.This mindset is what started that rumour about Modern Warfare 2 makers or devolpers charging for multiplayer. If I can find a link to this I`ll update.

Because playing the latest game is like watching the the latest movie:you have to play so you`er not left out in tommorrows conversation.

Games and movies are different things (somethign the Battlefield 3 guys didn't understand with their SP campaing) well except for graphic adventures, thsoe are awesome, but if you are buying a game that is made for multiplayer but you can't play the multiplayer you should better spend that money on something that you will actually enjoy, kind of a simple thing to understand. So I prefer no tacked on single player campaings.

And also I don't waste money on a movie I know I won't liek just because people around did.

I've been playing battlefield 3 myself too and its really awesome. Although I need to finish upgrading my new gaming PC I'm waiting for my two Revo3x2 solid state drives to come and I still have to order x2 EVGA GeForce GTX 580 3072MB Hydro Copper 2 Then I'll be all set. Currently game doesn't play that smooth and doesn't look as good :(

Games and movies are not as different as you think:Both cost shit tons of money to make. Some are so rememerable that people builds sites just for that game or movie. As for buying games for single player:Well not everyone has internet(I know,it`s sad,but true)but still want to play Battlefield 3 anyway.Others just don`t play online. Those people then complan about the fact that the brand-new $60 game lasted barly 5 hours. It`s not that they did not enjoy it,its the fact that the game only(for them)lasted 5 hours.

Then they would be complaining about a game that was obvious from the begining that it was for multiplayer, to be abotu the multiplayer, it's like complauining that you played New Vegas without playing absolutely any side mission and rapid firing every dialogue and it only lasted a couple of hours, it's as simple as not spending money on something you are not gonna be able to actualy enjoy it.

Wanted to re-play Witcher 2 on Dark Mode, but the horribly broken fight in the Wraith War in Act II killed it for me.

Parrying is useless, my character is much slower, resilient and has a lot lower damage than the enemy. They attack in a group of 4 at the same time and always parry all the attacks, which staggers Geralt for long enough for them to bludgeon him to death. Trying to block their attacks is useless, running away is not an option. I usually die after 3 hits.

Also, I wanted to craft the unique armor set from the first Act. Unfortunatly, the chestpiece does not appear in my inventory after crafting it. Happened every time I tried. So basically I spent over 3 hours gathering crafting materials and it's bugged.

Conclusion is that playing on Dark Mode is pretty much wasting your time.

I actually played team fortress 2 first time online with my TF2 newbie friend, was helluva fun. Didnt really like it at first ( maps felt really confusing and didnt have a clue how i was supposed to play with each class) But after couple hours of practicing i started to get the hang of it.

Playing the 2-Fort map is usually a good way to learn the basics. Pretty easy map to figure out and each class can easily compliment the team.

What the hell is wrong with Steam?
I'm trying to download TF2, and the program has went unresponsive at least 5 times.
