General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

New Vegas is a lot heavier on quests than FO3 was. To keep the quest list down I started turning people down ("Maybe later"). So, I can just take my time and look around for interesting trouble to get into. I choose to perform quests when I can work it in to my Courier's busy schedule. (hunting, looting, scavenging, trading, playing blackjack, etc.)

I've been playing a bit of Star Wars: Dark Forces

Still my favourite Jedi Knight game, great weapon selection and gunplay and no smegging light sabers.
Got it on Steam and mean to complete it again.

Wow, that Wasteland guys voice is essentially being cuddled in silk for 9 minutes.

I know, he somehow manages to make me enjoy Wasteland even more with his narrative.

Dark Forces has also in my opinion fantastic story for its genre. I might also try plugging my old joystick in and giving Tie Fighter a go.

Yeah this guy does quite good voice work for Wasteland.
I discovered his videos a while ago and I really liked how he put the Wasteland intro on the music of Fallout's intro and added photo's and pictures to create something as similar and enjoyable.

Dark Forces was okay, but I feel the later games are more playable.
Still waiting for the Dark Forces remake for Jedi Academy.

Meanwhile, The Dutch Ghost, you might try Star Wars: Movie Battles multiplayer mod for Jedi Academy. I found it quite entertaining.

I'm playing the Nightelf campaign of Warcraft 3. Great strategy game.

One of the best, but I still like Warcraft 2 better. I think it's mainly because Warcraft 1 and 2 were the first RTS games I ever played.

Up until WoW, Warcraft was one of my favorite game series. Still remains, actually, those three games.
It is sad what Blizzard did to the series...

Played through Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. All genericness aside, the game has the best graphics I have seen to this day. At many points in the game I simply had to stop and watch the scenery for a minute or two.

QFT. WoW is simply what killed Warcraft for me. It would have been great if blizzard had decided to make another strategy game or simply a single player focused RPG.

Indeed.
I was hoping there would be Warcraft 4, or like you say, a single player RPG.
In fact, you might remember that in The Frozen Throne there was a bonus mini campaign, which was set in and around Orcish city of Durotar, focusing on a single hero (can't remember his name). You did some quests which were usually "kill X monsters", "bring Y items", "go from A to B" etc. However, the hero had some background if I recall correctly, and while doing quests revealing some plan to destroy Durotar. Can't tell for sure.
Essentially, a mini-RPG game, but I enjoyed it. Supposedly, this is what inspired DotA.

To be honest, it would be better if Blizzard made a game like this, than an MMO which contradicted all canon from previous games in the franchise, and took the series in a completely new direction, which is, in all honesty, god-awful.

Ninja edit: Little googling revealed that the campaign's name is The Founding of Durotar, and hero's name is Rexxar.

Started my first playthrough of Neverwinter Nights 2. Never got the chance to play it before. Saw it being sold during, I believe it was, the special discounts after Christmas in Steam for about $5 dollars. Lest my memory falters (which is probably the case o3o). Seeing how my experience is limited with CRPGs, I just went with a human fighter. I kind of feel bad now because I wanted to go with a monk, or spirit shaman initially, but I've already gotten to Chapter II, sooo, maybe next time.

I've also been playing a little bit of Dissida 012 [duodecim] on the side. I simply want to beat the story mode so I can get started on Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. It's probably not worth it, but I've started accumulating a huge backlog of games to beat and since 012 is a fighter with no infrasctructure mode, I figure to at least beat it once. Might as well get it out of the way.

Playing through Overlord 2. The beginning parts are full of eye candy awesomeness(From an artistic point of view)!

Been playing Fallout 2 on and off. I am currently playing through very carefully. I am doing my best to keep all my partners alive. Usually I let them stay dead if they get killed, but lately I have been reloading instead. I love how hard the game can be. The wasteland actually feels dangerous. I always liked 2 better than the original. Both are still classics. I still need to pick up Tactics since I never played it much.

Still waiting for FNV Ultimate Edition.....

I got bored playing FO: Tactics and never finished it. It's interesting at first, but it seemed repetitive to me.

I'm still in FO: NV, currently playing Old World Blues. The characters are freaking funny to me, but the enemy leveling is not. I started at over 40th level and took a serious beating after I stepped outside. Big MT Nightstalkers are tougher than Mojave Deathclaws.

Finished Bastion the other day and i'm still humming that song. From time to time i get tired of shooting people in the face and i try something different, that's how i got to Bastion. I think i'll try Rochard next weekend.

Picked up Resident Evil 5 again, with all the RE news that has come out I needed a fix.

Played "Lost in Nightmares", which started off really good, good atmosphere (like the first time I played RE1 DC all those years ago), but then it just started to slowly go down hill. Only one type of enemy that actually poses a threat! WTF? The finale was weak and the game was way too short, they could have done so much more with it. Hopefully the other DLC, Desperate Escape has more to it but I'm not holding my breath.

The other DLC is no better. Both were pretty disappointing.

Just finished Deus Ex Human Revolution and while slightly dissapointing me for not having more than 2 hubs and some rather linear segments i found the game to be great fun and quality overall.

Well fuck. Oh well I just use it as another achievement whore moment.

Picked up Battlefield 3 again since school started, rather be playing something i can just drop like it's nothing than get back involved with skyrim or New Vegas again.
