General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

playing the ol starcraft 2. surprisingly its got a very decent storyline for a strategy game. you guys should try it, especially since this was developed for ESport in first place

HyperDimensional Neptunia ReBirth 1 for the PSVita.

... what? Why are you looking at me like that? It's a fun game.

Also been playing a lot of the Rise of the Triad remake, MGSV:TPP, and a bunch of various GBA games & Doom/Doom II on my PSP. Probably going to start up Valkyria Profile after Neptunia, or give Infinite Space on DS another go round.

hmm, it really broke some of the previous established canon (Raynor swearing to kill Kerrigan, the Xe'Naga instead of being scientists now being some kind of gods, the Overmind being under control of that fallen Xel'naga, Zerus beings quite alive instead of a dead world, and so on).

The Wings of Liberty was okay though it really felt like an extended intro sometimes, Heart of the Swarm was somewhat weaker, and I could not even finish Legacy of the Void.

Currently playing Wolfenstein Blade of Agony.
Man I really want to learn how to make levels for games like Doom and Half Life.

Never played Resident Evil 4 so gonna start that. Supposed to be the best one, though I really liked the Resident Evil 1 Remaster HD because it really shows why old horror games do many things better.

Game looks nice with the overhaul but can run like dogshit, beginning to feel like it's not worth it in addition to getting killed by rats in a few hits.

it somewhat got a very diverse mission type in campaign, things that usually strategy games ussually lack. the survive till the night and the lava mission is my favorite currently :D

If you wanted something completely terrifying and subtle that has more emphasis on atmospheric terror, RE4 is not gonna be your bread and butter. If you want something fun, exciting and re-playable but with more subtlety than the next RE games (and some acceptable horror bits), RE4 is just right. I have it on Steam and have completed the game multiple times so it was worth the discounted price.

Playing Sunless Sea and it is really cool. The art style and music are beautifully done and it has a good mix of RPG and Rouge-Like elements mixed in. Note though that if you play with merciful mode off then the game is quite unforgiving.
Looking at the launch trailer and other videos about Sunless Sea, this looks pretty damn good. May check it out during a sale.

To keep in line with the thread, going through Stardew Valley in small doses now. It's rather relaxing.

Resident evil 4 is okay an' all but RE3 will alway be my favorite because of nemesis.
And REmake is a close second

I like the variety and effort done in some of the quests instead of the straight up "Build base/harvest resources, find enemy and destroy forces/and or base". I do applaud that.
It is more the storyline I have a problem with, I felt it was weaker compared to Starcraft 1/Brood Wars, and to many retcons.

Currently playing Wolfenstein Blade of Agony. This is a really well done Doom mod and had it been released as a commercial project back in the day many people would have applauded it.
I prefer it over Brutal Doom Hell on Earth Starter Pack.

I like RE3 for its atmosphere but I think RE4 has better gameplay.
Now if RE3 had the gameplay/camera from RE4 I think that game would probably be better than RE4.

Re4 was just too action oriented for my tastes. If all of re4 had been just as creepy as the fights with those regenerating monsters then I'd like it more. Plus the story made literally no sense in re4.

Hitman: Absolution

Shitty Hitman game, half-competent stealth game. The few more Hitman-like levels have saved this pile of trash from uninstallitis.

Playing now The Long Dark, a "realistic" survival sim set on the Northern region of Canada, after a geomagnetic incident.
So far i found the fun of it, after getting my ass frozen twice, nibbled by wolves, falled off cliffs and getting stuck on a corner.
The game really shines then, when you catch The Flow, and the graphical/technical side is okay too, it's Unity, but on a lot of situations you might break your jaw on some scenes

For now, after 17 days of survival and finally finding the Holy Hunting Rifle, my only itch abou the game that the player character has as much natural endurance as Mr. House from NV, and still has the biological needs of a damn Hippo.

Oh, and a Story mode is coming, so i'm pretty hyped for that.

Good times

Edit: Funnily enough, the Player Characters are voiced by the Player characters from Mass Effect, Male and Female Cmd. Shepard

XCOM Enemy Within.
I had to mod some of the annoying shit to make it playable though.
Such as changing default zoom, changing the ratio at which you can rotate the camera, removing alien intro scenes when you stumble upon them and some other crap.

Dragon's Dogma.
Finally I get a game where I can play as a little girl who molests cyclops to death.

The Sims 3.
I'm playing as an SJW inspired by Big Red who's life is turning out amazing. It's so nice when a nice person like that gets everything she wants. Successful career, successful side-job as a writer, got a great relationship going with an employee of hers who's suffered major trauma that she's exploiting. Things are great. :)

This why I don't like Unity. If a game looks good on Unity, it's probably melting the computer.

Not really, i have played Unturned too, on Unity 5 and this, and i had it on max settings and ran fine, on a 750 Eu toaster.

The textures are "painted", maybe like by watercolor, and it looks very fancy on screenshots, but it may get a bit jarring at times, for repeated textures and elements.

But i meant it was beautiful, not by the pure looks, but becouse after a shitshow of hiding on a little shed, or even worse, somewhere in the outdoors, completely on the dark and likely with some affliction, while hearing the blizzard or the wolves that made you hide there in the first place, if you are lucky, you go out at the morning (or find shelter late in the day), and the warm light of the sun tells you that you'll live another day :D

Now that i think of it, maybe it is the Randall Clark Simulator.

Finished 35MM a few days ago and it was good enough. Feels like it isn't done yet and some parts made me scratch my head. Like the last area of the game that has no enemies but you still find ammo etc..? Oo Got it for under a buck so i can't complain.

I also finished GUN today.. Guess i never have to touch the game ever again :P

I should really change to my new PC parts and formate my discs but i've been super lazy when it comes to this. I really need a better CPU for some of the games i want to play again.

I definitely recommend picking up Rise of The Tomb Raider if you liked the first game. It's more of the same but better in pretty much every way. A lot more to explore and do, and a much better character developement system.
Finished Tomb Raider today and downloaded Rise of the Tomb Raider. Maybe I'll finish my old Hitman - Absolution playthrough first. It's taking lots of space on my SSD ;)

I loved both Tomb Raiders but they are super easy and the first one had way too much backtracking. Rise is probably better in 90% of the stuff TBH.

RE 4 is far from the best one. I put it slightly above RE6 but it is far better than RE5. And that's about it.

Resident evil 4 is okay an' all but RE3 will alway be my favorite because of nemesis.

RE2 was overall the best imo but i liked all the games except RE4-6 and not counting the on rail ones on WII etc.

Re4 was just too action oriented for my tastes. If all of re4 had been just as creepy as the fights with those regenerating monsters then I'd like it more. Plus the story made literally no sense in re4.
Agreed. Seen the original trailer for RE4? I would have loved it.. But we got this start of the action feast instead.

Edit:

@Makta.

Re4 was still fun imo.
I've never understood the the re2 is the best stance. It doesn't do much to stand out from the first 4 main games. (1,2,3 and code veronica.)

You should be able to enjoy gun again in a year or so.
