General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I gave Darkest Dungeon a try. It's... fine, a bit too expensive for what it offers, but fine nonetheless. I can see, though, how it can get extremely repetitive in a long run. I tend to play it in very short batches at a time (1 or 2 dungeons per session at most, any more would already get tiresome).

Soon to give the remastered Bard's Tale games a go.
 
Been playing Last Ninja 1 and 2 on the WinVice emulator. In general not bad games but some of the the controls are pretty tricky and this game can really be Nintendo hard.
I confess I would not have gotten further if I had not used save states and unlimited lives. Guess the challenge will be after I have finished it this way to play without.

Also gave Vendetta a try, another C64 with the same perspective and nearly similar controls but I can't say that I find this one as smooth playing as Last Ninja.
If the Emulator really emulates the C64 well than the game really suffered from slowdown while loading some chambers.
 
Waiting for Smash to come out and deciding I don't care about the Let's Go games, I bought the Digimon game for the Vita (The hacker's memory one because well, it has more Digimon) and it's actually been pretty fun. COmpletely different design philosophy and structure to the Pokemon games, more sidequest oriented and I dig the more Modern Urban Fantasy setting on this, it's animu as hell but it's entertaining. Also raising Digimon is very experimental, as Digimon can evolve into different forms that intersect with other digimon evolution lines, you are expected to just change the species of the Digimon you have multiple times just so you can get the more Powerful ones later on. It has an auto mode so I can also grind levels while doing other shit. I am glad I could dust off my Vita too.
 
So, Bungie released Destiny 2 for free for a limited time, just in time for my birthday. So I'm enjoying my birthday present. So far it's fun. I plan on playing trough all of the current content before I even consider getting any extra.
 
Vaporum, Slovak dungeon crawler with modern graphics and old mechanics, released in 2017. Nice surprise for me actually, on par with first Grimrock.
 
Smash is fun. I am currently trying to unlock all characters before my friends come over to play. The unlocked challengers are kinda hard to beat, specially when they appear when I am trying a character I don't know how to use, good thing it has that "Challenger Approach" option to retry the battles.
 
Just got the first FO! I'll probably have to wait a little while to play it but I'll let you guys know what I think. I'm sure I'll love it!

I am thinking of buying Frostpunk. It comes along with Everspace on GOG. I am craving for some good management game. For now playing Doom 2016 and Stellaris 1.9. Also waiting for Frontier.
 
Thought of checking out the Endless games? Mainly -Space 2 and -Legend.

Gee and your hate for hyper lanes. Did you never get to Jump Drives in 2.0? Those are even better than the IG wormholes or warp. Anyway, ES2 has free movement out of lanes with a speed modifier that you unlock in like Stage 2 of the Science and exploration tree, and there’s a lot of ways to boost lane or movement or both. Endless Legend is tile-based more in the style of Civ, but out of what that ensues it’s quite similar to ES2

Finished FO 1. I loved it, but I'm not used to playing on PC so I'll take a break before FO 2 and go back to my PS for a bit. I thought of getting Odyssey or maybe that recent Far Cry.

Tip, don't get odyssey, the one redeeming factor of all assasins creed games up until odyssey and origins is the amazing combat. Odysseys combat is average honestly and most of the "choice" in the narrative is superficial. While the narrative in general seems really interesting at the beginning of the game it quickly becomes gimicky and uninteresting. The world is cool so if you want to buy a triple a game for the landscapes go for it. My advice, don't. I heard far cry 5 was great though, never played it myself.

Did you die of radiation poisoning when you arrived to the Glow because you had forgotten to pack some Rad-X? I'm pretty sure that happens in everyone's first playthrough.
Also how did you win the game? Did you kill the Master, convince him that his plan is doomed to fail, or simply avoided him and just nuked the entire place? I'm curious.

Yep, I died, lol. I convinced the master his race would die out and he killed himself. This was the peaceful option, apparently. TBH, I played through it quicker than I wanted to.

I also killed all of the Khans because they are just named raiders. I really disliked them in NV and they were worse (at least to me) in this one.
 
I have started playing Doom 2016. As always I am somewhat later to the party because in this case I was not that really sold on Doom.
I liked Doom 3 and its expansion Resurrection of Evil but I did not enjoy it as much as for example Half Life 2 or the Jedi Knight games before it, or Wolfenstein 2009 as I have always been more of a story guy.

But I want to play a new FPS game and it seems to run pretty well on my older system. It will be interesting to see what it will look like on a much more powerful PC in the future.

I also have Atom but I am having some issues with the videos which I am not sure is a bug problem or something with my computer. I will return to it later.
 
Decided to take a break from Doom 2016 which I wasn't playing that frquently anyway to play a mod for Doom 3 instead called Doom 3 Phobos.
Phobos is a side story taking place concurrently with the campaign of Doom 3. The main character suffers from some form of amnesia or memory block, I don't know where this is going to be taken into the future and how it ties into Doom 3.

Doom 3 may be slower paced and I have the feeling that when the next chapters come out that the storyline may turn out to be disappointing but the developers really put a lot of effort in the world design and I found myself drawn into this much more than Doom 2016.

Also the enemies really kick your ass, even at Marine difficulty.

Now that I have finished Chapter 1 I am going to check if ATOM will now run properly. More interested in that than Doom 2016.
