General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Most of my PC games were sold in high school at a garage sale so I could buy a PSX. It was worth it. I sold those PSX games around 2006 for an absurdly low price to buy another console. I don't sell games anymore but I don't buy many physical copies either. The only PC box I own is for Witcher 2 and I am shocked they even sold it on disc.
They sold Cyberpunk 2077 on disc as well.

I'm joking obliviously but I'm a huge fan of Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun and I do believe that there could have been a much better sequel than the C&C3 we got. It's the same situation as with Fallout 3 compared to Fo1&2. Tiberium Wars is just some weird retcon that twists the lore. It's a good game but not a good sequel, I would say.

I have no doubt that a Westwood Studios produced C&C3, or Red Alert 3 for that matter would have been much better than the EA studio games.
I am not saying that the people who worked on these games were incompetent, but I am sure EA had a big influence on this project such as deciding what the design should be like.

Could you perhaps PM me what retcons C&C did with the established lore from Tiberian Dawn and Tiberium Sun?
Or perhaps we could open a thread here on the games forum to discuss it?

Biggest crime: they removed the organic component of tiberium and all the mutations it caused. In Tiberium Wars tiberium is just a green crystal.

I definitely remember that from the old trailers and videos of the first two games.
And weren't the Forgotten also removed?
They did reappear again in a mobile game.

I just started up Bloodborne. I'm only past my second boss and I've already gotten a little frustrated. It's not all bad though. I really enjoyed the challenge of Dark Souls back when I played it because it was not what I was used to, and it's nice to play a game where I can't just rush in and hack through enemies with ease.

I plan on alternating with Shadow of the Colossus so I don't get too frustrated... and nostalgia.

Shadow of the Colossus is amazing. Ico was apparently the game that inspired Miyazaki to make games and he said Shadow would have a decent influence on Elden Ring.

They could be turning Castlevania into Bloodborne right now but Konami needs to explode.

Ok so I just beat SMT5, got the true ending as well so I had to kill Shiva the vanilla Super boss, and because I had to be all decked out to kill the Super Boss the regular final boss was a cake walk lol
All in all I like the game, I enjoyed my time with it, visuals were nice, level design was kind of annoying I never thought I would be plataforming on an SMT game but if they really wanted to do the Mario Odyssey thing they should've pute less annoying barriers everywhere. But it was enjoyable. I give it a solid 7, I liked Nocturne and 4 more. Story is very minimalist compared to 4 but on par with Nocturne. Characters were more fleshed out than in Nocturne at least.

Music wasn't as memorable as in 3, but the difficulty was definetly much higher, specially on hard, like holy shit.

I still need to defeat the Demi Fiend, but fuck that for now LMAO I ain't doin' that shit this year, Shiva was already hard as balls but I could at least go a few turns against him even while losing, Demi Fiend kills me in 1 turn and I am level 99 lol

Spoilerooni complaints:
Kinda lame that the true ending is the one where you simply remake the world as it was but without demons and gods. Pretty tame compared to what the real endings of the previous games were, where even the neutral route in 4 changed the world in an interesting way.

I mean in 3 each ending results in a brand new world different from ours on a fundamental level being created, and the real ending had you fucking kill god and become a true demon to lead the forces of Lucifer on the war against YHVH to finally end the cycle of creation and destruction.

In 4 even the Neutral ending (the canon one) ends with you collapsing the rock ceiling of Tokyo and summoning Masakados as a mecha made of concrete, that's fucking metal.

Compared to those the stakes and reach of the endings felt rather small

People must not have paid full price for Earthbound on the SNES or pretty much any SNES RPG in the late 90's. The games have to go up in price to support the cost of development. PLUS STOP BUYING BRAND NEW AND PREORDERING GAMES ASSHOLES. It's like people have no patience and must have the newest toy right when it comes out. Guess what? FF7 will still exist 5 years from now when I get it 70 percent off.

Now I just need to beat Paper Mario, Tales of Arise and Metroid Dread before Pokemon Legends Arceus comes out on the 28 and consumes my life. I also have to plan a bomb ass birthday trip for my girlfriend to justify disappearing into a Pokemon game 2 days after her birthday.....

Got Mankind Divided for like 4 usd, trying it out. Crashed twice, one before the train bombing. Might have fixed it, gotta get back into it.

With camera mod. Also some guy is doing an unofficial patch but he has not named it yet. It fixes tons of bugs but I am waiting to jump on that on at a later date. Thinking of a Supreme Jerk Iron Man LP after I beat this. I might end up dying since it is hard on Ranger. These games are meant to be played through failure though because most generic loot can be missed since toaster repair is your major unmarked quest loot skill.

It has been years since I played it, my machine just can not run it properly.
But I remember that during the intro on the station there was an issue with collision detection, and objects and people literally going through each other.
Have those issues been fixed?

One thing that killed some of my interest are the micro transactions. Is that also still there?
