Yep, can't find any "NMA" crews on the website, and looking for it has been incredibly tedious in the game. If there's any way you can make it quicker, leave details. I play on the PS3 (as any sane individual would).

Okay, my Request is now Pending. Much as I hate things like Facebook or Steam, that's the nice thing about monopolistic social sites like them; you don't have to re-learn how to setup a profile and remember different settings for myriads of accounts. Just fumbling around the social club website took ages because I didn't remember how to use it. Bleh, annoying.

    Accepted.

Soon, you will receive a position on the gang hierarchy that will depend greatly on the tides and my mercurial sense of self-esteem.

Well, I hope this crew gets a bit larger, or that perhaps we arrange some matches. Now that I can finally play Online, I could finally see the features for myself, and while it's nice that it allows me to join games with friends or crew members, there's never any crew members playing to join. Just looking forward to this being a little different soon.

Give it time and we will have more members to play with. Some people still can't get online yet.

    Yeah.

Not to mention a bunch of my friends still haven't actually picked up the game because A) lack of money and B) waiting for online to work right.

I will be available to play for most of the weekend, so feel free to get online and run some jobs with me.

Also, I hope I can find my headset because for the life of me, I cannot remember where I put it.

Yeah I should be online as well this weekend.

I don't have a headset sadly. But I have noticed voice chat sounds fucking terrible on ps3. I do hope they fix this shit with ps4.

It's not because of the PS3, it's all a matter of the quality of headset you get. It sounds pretty bad if you hear voice chat over your speakers, but that's because it's not intended to be heard through anything other than another headset. When my Blutooth worked, the sound was always crystal clear.

I just wish I could use my Blutooth, because people are running around cluelessly in GTA Online, and given my history with GTAIV Multiplayer, the lack of instinctual coordination looks shameful, to me. Being able to talk to them would help alleviate that, but then again, it's already showing signs of suffering from the same crippling faults of most online games: people are fucking idiots. The very first person with a mic to grace me when I finally signed on for the first time was beat boxing for 2 minutes straight. The next memorable mic chat that wasn't part of a conversation with someone else was "......................suck my dick." Can't believe I forgot how loathsome people usually are.

Serifan helped me kill the shit out of a dude that I put a bounty on.

See, he thought he'd be safe if he stole a fighter jet from the military base, but he didn't know that all of the fighter jets have killswitches that force them to land after a period of time.

I chased that sumbitch down and gunned him down soon as his plane touched ground in the hills.

Then he respawned and I accidentally shot Serifan in the back once and he got killed by that guy, but I revenged him hard and then ran away.

I had no issues playing yesterday, but now I can't get into a session once again. I guess they keep grossly underestimating how their servers will be bogged down, as this is the first weekend of Online being live, so that might be why I went from no issues to no access overnight. Had a great time WHILE I was able to play, however.

Like I mentioned above, the hapless behavior people exhibit without any sense of coordination is just baffling and disturbing to me. Time and time again, players think they can just go for me like that's the smart way to make some money. (Of the roughly $70k I've made so far in my meager time online, less than $2000 of it was earned from killing players.) My car is nothing special, but I'm able to effortlessly outmaneuver them because... well, they're uncoordinated idiots. Slamming on my breaks always gets em. Spinning out so my driver side door is opposite them and I can use my own car as cover while I shower them with bullets always gets em. Hiding behind ANY cover always gets em. These kids (and I know they're kids, because damn near every single time, it's some high-pitched, non-female voice giggling at me over voice chat) shouldn't play this game. Not because it's too violent or because it'll teach them bad principles, but because they don't deserve to have access to it. One kid started ramming into my car while I was driving to my next liquor store to hold up, and he was laughing when he managed get me killed. I respawned and killed him almost instantly, and he started shouting obscenities at me, because apparently retribution was undeserved, and I was a fag for being hostile to him, and how could I do that I'm such a fag, and what the fuck was my problem anyway? Etc etc. Bunch of double-standard children are a waste of server space. From what my friends have messaged me, apparently that's the bulk of what everyone has to deal with. Kids everywhere just being hostile and trying to kill everyone they see. Doesn't work that way. EVERY player who dared to so much as fender bender me- let alone show genuine hostility -has ended up losing many-fold what they could have hoped to get out of it. I seriously don't get it. I've played games that were INTENDED to have no-holds-barred open PVP without any limitations, and the players showed plenty of restraint at all times at all levels.

I can't wait for the servers to stabilize on a consistent basis and for my crews to have regular participation, because it would be refreshing to playing with capable players on a regular basis, not players that make me cringe to watch fumble and fail.

That's news to me. Is that the same in Offline as well? I've been on personal quests to steal into the military base and hijack a jet before, but I've never managed to get one, so I wouldn't know. I was able to hijack an attack chopper, and it served me for the next in-game day or so completing all of the Under the Bridge challenges (in fact, I'd say it's ESSENTIAL, because of the narrow space for at least 2 of the challenges) without any such killswitch feature.

Yeah, offline they have killswitches too.

You have to land them at a hangar to deactivate it, but otherwise after a couple of minutes the engine will just cut out.

Choppers are fine, fun and far more useful than fighter planes.

There is however a particular game mode in Online that I love.

It's called Top Fun and it tasks two teams of players to play Cat and Mouse.

The mice get dirtbikes and have to make it from the military base to the docks in Los Santos.

The cats get fighter jets and jeeps to hunt them down.

So far, I've never been killed by the jets, they're just too unwieldy to hit a small target.

Out of the two times I've flown them in that mode, the first had me kamikaze a couple of bikers in rage (which won the match for my team) and the second, I just landed the jet on a bridge leading up to the dock to block the bikes and then I just shot them with my SMG.

They got really mad for some reason.
