Gun Control

People need to understand that Florida is where a whole bunch of crazy shit happens. The Miami Cannibal, George Zimmerman, Bridge Collapse, shootings, etc, etc.

"A collection of headlines about Florida Man and Florida Woman, the most dysfunctional superhero team yet."

Yep, Florida is the place where you'll be walking along in a nice neighbourhood and all of a sudden someone dressed as a clown in bathsalts will try to bite your face off.

Kentucky GOP candidate threatens to shoot congressman for mocking the NRA
"Move it over just a bit. I was trained center mass."

Wow. I'm more certain of the civil war thing in US all the time. Now with the Austin bomber turning out to be a white republican supremacist as well.

Post where you heard this, all I have read anywhere is 24 year old white male with no known reason. And looking at the trends in the US it seems to be non-republicans doing the alot of the mass killings.

Edit: Found something talking about how he had some blog posts with a conservative tone in 2012 but not much of a social media presence. 6 years is a long time though so who knows. Crazy is crazy no matter the political leanings.

If it was a black dude or an Arab/Muslim would you be equally understanding?

Anti-gun marches around the world going on today. Nice.

As an atheist I think that's a fair analysis of religious belief.

I talk to a pink elephant. He told me to burn down my house.
Crazy lunatic.

I hear Jesus whispering to me. He told me to bring freedom and liberate opressed nations with drone strikes.
You could become a governour or president even!

On a more serious note, I think in his sick and twisted mind MutantScalper tried to highlight the fact that there is a kind of double standard when it comes to those shootings and the shooter was a white male compared to instances where the shooter was black or a muslim.

Just to make this clear! Insanity isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long you don't realize that you're insane.
I'd have thought it was the other way around; [alright, so long as one understood]. Sin City comes to mind; Marv. Marv knows that he has a condition; knows that he needs his medicine... and that he can start thinking unreliably when he hasn't had it.

All we need is and anarcho-communist and a vegan and we complete the whole set.

That sure was a lot of people protesting for gun control. Seemed to me to be about 1 million in the main protest + more around the world. A full blown movement like the civil rights movement etc. And they're young folks so that makes it even more powerful.

You organising a similar size 'young gun nuts' - march in DC? :D

The smear campaign against Emma Gonzalez is incredible, particularly by the far right and the NRA. One photoshoped image after another. Now a page which claimed that she was an professional actress from 1994 isn't available anymore. What's next? That she's Soros grandchild?

I mean what the fuck, has dignity completely disappeared?

Well I agree the calling of these kids as actors is wrong, its funny to call the rest a smear campaign when that is exactly what has been happening to the NRA for a while. All paid for by the rich ex-mayor of New York.

Now the meme of her ripping up the constitution may be a photoshop from her ripping up a range target, but it is exactly what the intent is.

When one gets in front of TV cameras, they are opening themselves up to not only the benefits of mass communications but the drawbacks as well. Every bit of your life will be scrutinized, no different than for celebrities and politicians.

There is still a huge difference between an ordinary citizen who happend to gain fame under very pecuilar circumstances and someone who's standing in the spot light as a part of his career, like a famous singer, movie star or politican. I am pretty sure if Gonzales had the choice, she would rather want the schooting which made her and the others known to the puvlic to never have happend. We're not talking about a Senator here who shared his dick picks over chat rooms.

Besides, I think no one here argued that making false accusations against members of the NRA is 'good' and I would argue that there is still a difference if I say the NRA (as organisation) or Charlton Heston (as person) is corrupt.

The NRA and gun advocates having a stance against Gonzales message and voicing their criticism is alright, making arguments aimed to improve the situation is of course good. But I've seen an increase of photoshoped images of Gonzales on Facebook shared by people in favour of free gun ownership, of which I know some are very quick to complain about 'fake' media and news.

This instance, more than ever proves very nicely how all of us are living in bubbles and can be suspectible to manipulation while no side is even one inch closer to solving the issue, regardless what side you're now on or what you see as the cause. Stuff like this, should be a bi-partisan issue, no reason to quarel or fight each other.

Crni

People are STUPID. Plenty of people have gotten the same treatment online, its a fact of life. Anita Sarkeesian wasn't a politician either, just someone with REALLY STRONG opinions.

But it's not "on the internets". It's something they're doing through official outlets themselves.
