The patch really does improve the game significantly. Even though I already beat it I decided to try another whirl with the "EX Game" thing (start from the beginning with all the gear you had at the end) and the faster weapon switching is a world of difference. Not having to fiddle with console commands to disable sprinting blur is also nice. Now all we need is multiplayer.

I just finished the game, it was very good shooter, but god damn can anyone explain what the fuck was going on in it storyline-wise ? I watched all the loading screen comics, but I have no idea :)

The ending was kind of non-ending, wasn't it ?

It's all Wooz's fault.

It is? I'm just responding to a customer of a thing I helped make in an honest way.

The story and plot were never an important factor and were given the least priority and resources during the development cycle. It's more of an afterthought than anything else. The needlessly complexity of it is recieved by most like a cheap attempt to hide the fact that it's shite. We could've just completely ignored it instead of doing something half-assed that isn't good enough for a plot/story and proved to be too resource-hungry to be quick.

And before you ask, no, it wasn't my idea or decision.

We are here in a friendly zone. We are your friends wooz! So who cares. :P

I was only half serious anyway. If someone is not doing a great job then you can of course say that.

But I doubt you would be doing it that way officially by simply saying "our writer was/is an idiot". Makes it difficult to get eventually new jobs. It is like the rule that you never ever throw out harsh criticism about the games of other companies - not in public. As you never know if you have to apply there for a job. I mean how many of the old Fallout devs said that F3 is shit ? And I am pretty certain that not all of them loved it.

I appreciate the response :-)

It is a shame too, because otherwise I like the...universe of Hard Reset, it has atmosphere and potential. But the incessant rambling about AI matrixes and corporations...yeah it was pretty bad, the over the top voice acting did not help.

However it is a great shooter still. I enjoyed it more than Portal 2 :p

(admittedly that has a lot to do with my lack of patience with puzzles...writing in Portal 2 was very good at least)

Hmmm I hope it will bring some semblance of sense to the story..and I hope it will be released as DLC on steam for some cheap price.

Just played this game. Really nice shooter (it's fast-paced, that's awesome). Also thanks for making my bad boy work, the fan went pretty crazy.

It'll certainly bring a couple of very post apocalyptic-looking locations...

I never tried it myself. Since I'm a cheap, cheap person, I'll get it now that it's 4$.

I have a few issues with Steam, but dear lord those insane sales of theirs make it all worth it.

So it's been updated and extended, and now it's 75% off on Steam. Only 3 bucks. Well worth it

Full of postapoc goodness!

Thanks a lot to Wooz and the rest of his team for the hard work

Then mebbez buy it, cheap, cheap person! ;)

So yes. Been away for a while. Doing work on stuffs. And other stuff, the HARD WORKES, on shit you guys get for free (or for $4, now with the sale) :P

Gonna be spamming the shit out of you with unreleased concept art for HR and HR EE now that it's on steam. Been told expressis verbis to wait for that to unleash the avalanche of good, bad and worse draws that were committed during the production of the base game and the DLC.

Please do not let this engine go unused in the future. It totally upstages any AAA studio such as id software and their laughable idtech5. I can't recall any other game in the last several years that runs so perfectly for how good it looks.

If you guys need to do a kickstarter campaign to fund something bigger don't hesitate for a minute.

I've been buying an insane amount of stuff in the steam sale, and had heard people talking about hard reset elsewhere. Knowing Wooz was on it, I think I'll throw more money at steam. Looking forward to it!
