Heard the best arguement ever today

It's two different schools of thought towards game development:

1) Shooty shooty bang bang explode-y crap that has no story or depth and focuses on making a better plasma rifle.

2) Exploring the economics, social interactions, characters and politics of a universe with only a secondary or tertiary focus on the plasma rifle.

Every great RPG chooses option 2. With Fallout 4, Bethesda chose option 1.

What is this I don't even...
I think that was Someguy37's comment. I consider it a true display of his [lack of] class.
No, it was taken from a YouTube comment from one of Gopher's Fallout Mod videos. Even Gopher himself was perplexed enough to reply. The guy claimed that modding out the voice acting of the protagonist was "akin" to doing that. Personally, after I read that I resolved never again to look at YouTube comments. Here is the video, scroll down to the comments if you dare, but be warned:

I stand corrected. (But I still think Someguy37 was lacking in class....)

I still think Someguy37 was fine. I mean, we are talking in comparison to the rest of Bethesda's legion of fans, right? He was leaps and bounds more sensible than any of the others.

I'm probably not the best judge for a place like NMA though, I tend to be lenient with inconsistency in arguments, and I'm forgiving when it comes to talking about subjects that aren't serious.

One of Yahtzee's Zero Punctuation videos on the hate mail he recieved on a game he reviewed. Let's play a game:
  1. Replace every part where he says SSBB or Super Smash Bros. Brawl with Fallout 4
  2. Replace the mechanics and terms with the ones from Fallout 4 accordingly to make it relevant
  3. Watch in glee as he shoots down every rabid fanboy excuse in existence

I liked how he mentions that if someone truly likes a game, other people hating it shouldn't bother you. If it does, then there's a possibility you might actually be subconsciously doubting whether or not it's actually good. It fits with nearly every argument in Fallout 4's defense I've ever seen.

Not being grateful to Bethesda for giving us Fallout 4 is akin to shitting on a soldier's grave on veteran's day~
Whoever said that is living proof that every stupid argument you could possibly conceive of, somebody will use at some point.

Throw in some looting to satiate the lust for material goods that a lot of people live their lives to feed, and you have yourself a low risk endeavor for a game developer.
It's not even that. People expect to be rewarded for their progress. I've seen various posts complaining about how they took down a Legendary Deathclaw, and are disappointed that they got a Legendary Pipe Riffle. Realistically they shouldn't have even got any weapons from that, but they seem to be obsessed with the idea of fightingbeing soley for rewards.

Unless it was guarding something that could be considered a reward.

Next their fans are going to want enemies to drop items everywhere like Piñatas as done in Borderlands. When you're Bethesda you can never have too much wackiness.

At least Borderlands makes fun of the grind... Bethesda acts as if it's unique, daring and wonderfully fun!

Here you go, a sneak peak for the future "Piñata DLC":
