Heard the best arguement ever today

Here you go, a sneak peak for the future "Piñata DLC":

Isn't there a perk where you're getting caps when you kill someone?
*Edit
Jep, JO'Geran that's the one.

I've grown to like Fallout 4 actually and pretty much accept Bethesda's Fallout with its first-person/real-time gameplay, but the moment I mention how great Fallout 1 or 2 was, I get jumped on, regardless if I'm not even attacking Fallout 4. It's as though if you like Fallout 1, you have to be a nostalgic dinosaur who needs to accept change. Maybe, I need to accept that the vast majority of people out there are just brain-dead. :D

I meant like weapons, armor, and junk items.
With as much Borderlands inspiration as they have in that game I'm surprised they didn't color code everything (ex. White, green, blue, purple, yellow, orange, cyan) and put the visible vertical lines so the average braindead player doesn't miss their goodies.

This isn't the problem, the problem is the writing. A main quest that's a rehash of FO3, which was a rehash of the classic games. A "romance" that feels like a 12 year old boy who's never had a girlfriend thinks it should be, but in their defense it's still better than the Skyrim see my necklace now suck it marriage system. The topper though is that BGS was so proud of this trash that they weaved it into every part of the game making it a prerequisite to move the game along in a meaningful way. They need to ditch Emil and come out of the closet about not making RPG's anymore.

I once saw someone say we shouldn't say New Vegas is better than 4 because it's disrespectful to Bethesda as they made the engine.

Needless to say, I had to stop myself from making this guy cry.

Well by that logic they should stop saying Fallout 4's better than New Vegas because it's disrespectful to Black Isle because they made the franchise.

They should also be saying that Fallout 1 is better then the rest because it was the first.

Actually we should, they're wonderful things!

Off topic, but since you live in Russia, how do the people actually view Stalin's reign there? Over here we know him essentially as a monster. Ironically since Russia is known as the brunt of the East, I suppose that would make Stalin the Monster of the East.

Hmm...

To be honest, I wonder why shooters are so popular?
Sorry, late to the party.
Answer:
People ask for content, A game will have a quest that involves fetching something as a sort of secondary to the plot for story progression, people then complain that it's a fetch quest and would like anything but.

Company then makes a few escort missions to break up the fetch quests. People then complete a fetch quest, complain then start an escort quest, those people then complain that they don't like escort quests.

Company then makes a quest where you have to gather information and fact find to discover the clues. People complain that it is boring and they couldn't be bothered to read and "No one has time for that." Then they complain that they don't know what to do or the game is too hard because they didn't read.

What does that leave a game creator left for quests? Story? Not much.

There is a very vocal group of people that bitch about many things in a game and miss the big picture, but those people usually just game hop, They don't really care about that game anyway, and unfortunately that is who the developer is trying to appease and that is the fundamental problem. Morrowind, Fallout 1 and 2 are punishing to the player in so many ways. For me, that is what makes them so rewarding to play, to the vocal casuals "It's too hard" "It's too fetchy" "The quest line is too long" "I don't like this thing that inconvenienced me and now I have to reload a previous save."

When Bethesda Made Morrowind they did not listen to their fans, they made what the wanted. I assume the same is for Fallout 1 and BI. Now it is all about trying to make as many people happy and have the game play itself for you.

Video game companies need to stop listening to their stupid fans and casuals.

TL ; DR Casual bitches complain about every type of quest, so now they don't have quests, just kill things.

I agree with this quote, I just got off of completing Fallout 1, and while I did the whole super mutant destruction and killed the Master, I left it too long and Shady Sands and Necropolis both fell.
Even through I completed the game, I didn't feel like I won and now I want to do it again to try and win.
The key phrase being "I want to do it again".

After completing Fallout 4, I dread going back and doing some of it again. It's difficult in an annoying way. I know if I screw up in Fallout 4 I can just wait it out a bit longer and go back to it. I screw up in 1, that's it, I got to live with the consequences.
Now I may go back in a few months time, possibly with mods installed to make my time easier.
I knew I would go back to it while playing it, and I actually look forward to it.

In all honesty, as much as I talk shit about Fallout 4, it has inspired me to make a post-apoc CRPG that's actually challenging and rewarding.

I would not say punishing, because honestly I hate punishing gameplay. Don't get me wrong! I absolutely agree with you guys. Thing is, punishing gameplay is in my opinion, random difficiulty spikes, unfair gameplay and such. Imagine a situation where you reach the end of a level trough very hard fighting, just to die because out of nowhere someone is backstabing you, with no chance to avoid it. So the nex time, you have to remember, ok! I should turn around this time. That is shitty gameplay in my opinion.
What made Morrowind, Fallout 1,2 and many other old games awesome, is that they expect the player to figure things out. To find his own way. Like with the level design of the old Doom games, navigating trough those mazes was a part of the game! Game developers simply assumed, hey! The player has a brain, he should be able to find the exit. Where as today, some shooters assume that their gamers are brain dead.

I think he explains much better what I mean:

FPS games used to have non-linear maps. FPS games today usually don't even have a key to press that shows you the level map, because the levels are entirely linear as you are basically walking in a straight line to be showed quicktime events or other scripted sequences because the developers think they are making a movie instead of a video game.

Why did you stop yourself?, You should have struck him down with all your hatred, and your journey towards the darkside would be completed.

But I was trying to write that! I didn't like the word "challenging" in this case as it sounded too mild, so I chose a stronger word without direct references. But you are right, I should have used challenging instead, touche."

I know you did! I just love to increase my post count. And, I saw the chance right there, and took it!

You are Crni Vuk, you don't need to look for a chance to raise your post count. You literally could just write "words bla bla bla" in reply to most things and people would accept it. Go on, embrace your new power!
