Hell is not frozen yet! (Diablo 3)

I'm sure I'm going to feel quite foolish when I learn the answer, but the terms MF and MF% are not familiar to me so I have no idea what you guys are talking about in your posts. So, what's MF?

Magic Find. An attribute put on items that increases the chance of finding rare/set/unique items by a set percentage (as long as you wear those items, of course).

Sorry, I just assumed everyone's logged in about a billion hours on D2 and is well versed in Bnet(Battle.net) shorthand.

Something else I just noticed watching the highres gameplay video -

corpses fucking disappear after like 5 seconds! No wonder the Necro is absent :(

It might just be early code or something. Maybe it'll be fixed once they've optimised everything a bit.

Unless someone can show a dev saying otherwise and ruin my positive mood...

Damn, I loved having those. Daddy needs more coins for new shiny armor!

Until D3 comes out, D2's latest patch (1.12b) allows for you to play sans CDs.
Doesn't everyone use D2Loader, anyway? I mean, I don't even use the original CDs anymore, I put them all (plus LOD) on a DVD so I can install it without ever changing the CD. Had to Hex-Edit the LOD-Installer because it uses a data file with the same name as the one the D2-Installer uses.

Eh, I'm to lazy to do tall that. I just use Clone CD and make several copies... done and done.

That sounds like more work than just using the CD straight up.

Say, I noticed this while spying on the diablo 3 site today.

It's a ominous glowing orb that changes from purple to blue when one clicks on it... As far as I can tell, thats all it does.

Is this the infamous "chat gem" or something, of more purpose? *unsolved mysteries tune*

Any of you folks signed the petition to change the art direction to the old diablo? I don't mind the art direction they are taking right now but I like the style of D1 and D2. I believe it really suits the environs and theme of the said games.

Also, I noticed this on Gamespot: Release Date: 12/31/09

Is that official? or is that their way of saying when its done?

You must be new to Gamespot (I don't mean that in a demeaning way or anything):

Gamespot puts release dates on things regardless of whether or not the developer has revealed even the haziest of ideas of when the game will be released. I'm 99.99% certain that is merely Gamespot's guess.

Hah, that's what caused all the hubbub on their forums.

"If you click it 666 times, you get to play the demo of diablo 3!"

Ahh, I recall reading something about that hear but obviously it did not click. thanks pally.

Yeah, the light radius is one of the major things that they've included in their petition. I for one am gonna miss that if it doesn't make a comeback in D3. For me it has a big impact on the gameplay on dungeons. Forces you to take small steps less you encounter a horde of baddies. Also adds a bit of horror effect in that you don't know what you gonna bump into in that dark corner until you get close to it and all of a sudden they're all over you.

Is that what hte petition is for? I've heard talk about PvP and frankly, I hope they downplay it or at least, revise it significantly. I felt like the only PvP I ever experienced in D2 was when I'd be starting up new characters and level 70s would join and kill everybody.

I'm for bringing the light radius back. Changing the art... probably asking for a little too much :).
