I find a certain YouTuber very cancerous.

Now that I remember, Many A True Nerd is a cool guy who made various playthrough on FO3 and NV, and basically showcased the RP capability of each games, and to an extent criticized FO3's lack of player freedom in killing every NPC (see his Fallout 3 Kill Everything Run). Dunno what he thought about FO4, but he's currently playing Fallout: New Vegas + Jsawyer Mod that he called it Director's Cut (which is cool and make sense tho). Seems like the only older Fallout he played was Tactics, and since he's going big, he's expanding his video material and not just play Fallout(s) anymore. Still, it would be cool to see him tackle many kind of runs on Fallout 1 and 2 to showcase truer cRPG for his audience who mostly came for newer Fallout(s).

I saw his Fallout 4 review once, called him a Bethesda whore in a lost comment and was called a hypocrite for having taste (from what I recall about that comment, I apparently do not have the right to decide what I think about a game and apply it whenever I state my opinion).

Matty is a Bethesda shill and the worst kind. The kind that ignores flaws, issues and problems with his games as long as his beloved overlords gives him games and acknowledgement after a long tongue bath. What's even worse is that he misrepresents Fallout 4 by creating a 'review' video that unaware consumers will assume to be valid since he presents it as a 'review' rather than what the video really is: ass-kissing.

I found him laughable as a representative of the Fallout community when he said that Fallout 1 & 2 were not good games only to retract it around the time Pete Hines revealed that he apparently played Fallout 1 & 2 a long time ago [https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/629798161335386112]. Sadly, he's probably gonna stick around for a long time since BGS is not done dropping the ball when making games and the new Fallout fanbase are exactly like him.

The Fallout 1 & 2 opinion before Pete's response:

Ray William Johnson used to be a political centered youtuber, then one day he decided to not be political and just do the schtick with Viral videos he made for so long, I used to watch him when he was a political channel. He changed the channel to Equals 3 because he jokingly thought "=3" wasn't a happy face with a cat mouth but rather a symbol for a Ballsack. Man, I'm getting old if I am actually knowledgeable about "old school youtube" shit.... One day we'll tell stories about the lost art of animation channels.....

And how about Alchestbreach?
He is mostly centered around FoNV mods, and he doesn't look like he was particularly delighted about Falluto 4, he even made "his own ending" video.
Depending on the game, he is either the funniest guy on earth or just kinda boring.
His GtaV modded video has 6M views, but he is under half a million subs, for some reason.

We need someone else to replace him as the face of Fallout community on YouTube. Souls games got it so good with the likes of EpicNameBro as the big names of Souls community over there. Hey @Millim would you try to do a Let's Play Fallout 1 and/or 2 and do it like how ENB did Dark Souls LPs?

I'll see what I can do, it may be in a few months or so (bear in mind I've only completed F1 once and I've not completed F2 yet, but I'll prob get round to it someday. Also, I'm no a massive fan of LPs, but doing one seems interesting).

Also it terms on YouTube personalities, there's a few YTers I like, I tend to enjoy a number of political ones (although a lot of those I find myself disagreeing with rather heavily these days and just find them plain annoying), but I like James Rofle and this guy called NecroVMX (mostly for his reviews and feature stuff through he seems to do those rarely these days).

I'm personally a big fan of guys like Noah Caldwell-Gervais and Super Bunnyhop, so I tend to skew towards more considered, intelligent productions. I discovered Matty whilst digging up Fallout 4 info up to the release and promptly stopped in my tracks. He is immature and offers no insight, so I find him and his videos vapid and uninteresting. I have no personal beef with the guy, heck, I actually enjoy Fallout 4 for what it is. But saying it is near perfect or whatever is probably one of the dumbest statements I've ever heard. I love New Vegas like it was my child, but the day I call it perfect is the day that I have officially gone off my rocker.

So basically, Matty is a crap Youtuber, but personal attacks on his character seem a bit much to me.

I really like SBH, his review of F4 was pretty balanced. Noah, I've not seen a lot of his stuff, but he seems fairly decent (I think I was subbed to him for a while).

@Millim Noah's work is usually really in depth and on the long side, like up to and over an hour long, but I highly recommend his work. He has some good Fallout videos on his channel as well, and I think he brings an old-school perspective without mindlessly blasting Bethesda like some have a habit of doing. And SBH is just great fun, even if I often don't see eye-to-eye with him.

But I think that's what makes the difference: I can watch SBH's review of something I really love in which he basically tears it apart, (Like the Megaman Legends review) and still sit through and respect his opinion. Sitting through someone like Matty is an ordeal for me. He makes few decent points and runs around in circles either praising the game or casually insulting anything non-Bethesda and then being mad when fans of what he was casually insulting speak up. It's just embarrassing. His first video on Fallout 1 and 2 and the one where he basically says NV without mods is terrible is just physically painful. His criticism amounts to "I couldn't get into it", "It's old" or "It made me think". If you dislike a game, whatever. But at least provide solid evidence as to why, maybe an anecdote. Just anything besides trite whining and making excuses.

Okay, I veered a bit into attacking him, I'll just mark that I'm being hypocritical now. lol

If "Matty" were "representative of the Fallout community", he would have interacted with us at least once. Our reputation as "glittering gems of hatred" and the "most depressing forum ever" should not detract from the fact that we are Fallout fans.

Yup. I would rather that Shoddycast be seen as the face of the Fallout community. They have some pretty cringy shit. (I won't even talk about some of the fallout fanboys.)

But all in all, they actually know what they're talking about.

I remember MrMattyPlays from one of their podcasts actually. He was the only guest that I actually hated. The guy is full of it.

Oh please no. NMA does not need the youtube equivalent of Buzzfeed clickbait.

Oh I agree completely. I'm just saying that a reaction beyond total hostility from the "Bethesda Fallout" fans would be appreciated. It doesn't help that people like Matty clearly have no love for the original Fallout games, yet still consider themselves Fallout "fans", to the point that they become "representatives".
