Jack, Arco, and Tenal Ka had reached the site of coordinates that rob had sent them. There was nothing here but barren wastes. Arco scanned the land as the falling sun began to hit the horizon. He spotted nothing more than a large wall of rock near by. Perhaps they were there thought Arco. As they moved towards the cliffs Arco spotted a body. It was Nicolas. He had multiple gunshot wound including one to the head.
” Ka, take care of the body. Jack, you go check those rocks.”
Arco himself went over to check out a small steel box that was sticking out of the ground. It was a bout 7 feet high and 2 feet wide and deep. Roughly the size of a modern day phone booth. Arco walked around the box to find Rob passed out in what appeared to be an entrance. Rob once he was awoken, he grasped out to the Captain in a hysterical frenzy. Arco really could not understand what the hell he was saying and he finally just picked him up and slammed his back into the phone booth like box in a rag doll manner to claim him down. Rob’s speech was still sketchy but Arco did manage to understand what had happen. Apparently Harper and Nicolas had just begun shooting at each other for no reason. He really didn’t understand why Rob had passed out but it was not of concern at the time. Still after this, Arco still wasn’t sure what had happened.
Jack was checking through the various rocks and debris that had collected to the west of the black box. As he walked, he stumbled over something and when he looked down to see what it was, he saw Harper Laying half dead.
“Captian, I think you better look at this.”
Arco made his way over to Jack.
“What is it grunt?”
Jack pointed down to Harper who seemed to be dazed in a sort of stupor. He was just starring at the sky with a blank expression on his face.
“Ka, Jack, grab Harper, we are taking him down with us.”
Arco radioed the rest of the group to join them at their present coordinates. He believed that they had found site 4256. Rob and Arco led the way through the initial entrance and down a short stairwell to the main door of the facility that was now dormant. The door had a large metal computer mainframe stuck at its base. This had kept the door partly open all these years and would allow entrance to the site itself.
As Rob, Arco, Jack and Tenal Ka entered the central room they could see nothing beyond what the light that shone from the top entrance would reveal and that light was quickly fading as the sun hid itself behind the horizon. From what they could see the room was filed various electronic devices and large filing cabinets filed with paper. Beyond that there was darkness.
Arco and Rob set to checking the safety and lay out of the structure. They found from a computer file that they were able to upload from an old diskette into Jack’s pipboy that the only way to the lower floors of the facility was to find the access key to the central elevator. There was of course the issue of power up the elevator to make the 1500 ft journey to the lower levels and power to light this room once the fading sun was gone. Arco, Rob, and Jack squared away to find a way to make their goal while Tenal Ka worked on figuring out what was wrong with Harper.
