Idiocy at its finest.

Do you even know what trolling means? How the hell can I be a troll when I am able to type in formal English, with good grammar, spelling, and punctuation?

Trolling does not require broken grammar, which is funny because you questioned Courier on his knowledge of it.

A troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

That is exactly what you did.

It is easy to identify troll just by grammar alone, I know poor grammar is not a requirement. I questioned his knowledge of it because I blantantly stated why I created this thread.

I bolded inflammatory because I never intended to arouse angry or violent feelings. The gas chambers were irrelevant and off-topic, but I do not think I provoked anyone to emotional response, nor did I intend to. And I never disrupted the the on-topic discussion, if you have actually viewed this entire thread, you would know that. People made irrelevant and off-topic posts before me, yet they get a pass? "Controversial" was the only word accurate word. EDIT: Also, be more specific on the word "that".

Again, proof of this denial is easy to find on the internet, so I never needed to show anyone evidence.

Hahahahahahaha. Hahaha. Hahahahahhahahaha. Hahaha. HahahahaHahahahahaha. HaHahahahaha. Hahahahahhahahahahahaha. Hahaha. Hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha. Hahahahahhahahahahahaha. Hahahahhahahahahahaha.

Haha: Hahahahhahahahahahaha.

Also: Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha.

someone who is able to use YouTube as a source for historical information and wants to investigate the truth about the Holocaust

Hahahahahhahahahahahahahaha. Hahahahahahahaha. HahahahaHahhahahahahaahahahaha. HaHahhahahahahaahahaha.

Not only does this statement is completely flawed and senseless, it also seems ironic because it feels as though I am the one that his gears truly grinded. How old are you to not realize that I just showed you people that YouTube comment sections are obviously not the best place for rational discourse in my OP? If me depicting people in the YouTube comment sections being complete imbeciles because they think the whole "emasulation of Black men" conspiracy theory to be a reality is not enough, then I do not know what is.

(...)

(...)I am able to type in formal English, with good grammar, spelling, and punctuation(...)

Hehehehehehe, stop it, you're killing me!

Edit: Hahahahaha.

Guys, why the fuck are you even bothering?

Feeding a troll, or an idiot, whichever the case, is a lost cause to begin with. Just ignore him and this stupid fucking thread and he will go away. Or get permabanned. I prefer the latter.

Cross-site trolling? Oh my, let me backseat-moderate a little!
Backseat moderating? Whoo, time for some more backseat moderation!

I have never heard of those websites, and do not care enough to find out what they are. I denied the homicidal gas chambers because I did thorough research and critical thinking. With all the evidence I have gathered on the internet, I came to the conclusion that not a single Jew was gassed under Hitler's reign. I could not care less if some believe it as a farce. This is the internet, I do not need to give proof because sites like Google, exist for a reason.

If all scientists on this world would think like that we would still be living in caves scraching our buts I assume.

What you say here isn't really the way how it works in arguments though and I mean this in the friendliest way possible. You can't just make a claim and than say, DUH! LOOK FOR YOUR OWN EVIDENCE!. I mean we are talking about a very specific topic here that was reasearched by countless of historians out there, people which visited said places, talked with the victims and the offenders, searching trough documents which survived the war. In other words actuall research. And If you say something against facts or situations that are generaly accepted as correct by most people out there, particularly historians, than the burden of proof is on you. Why should any person here ever take something you say seriously if you don't follow even the basic principles of arguments? I am not sure how much you know about things like the scientific method or how actuall research really works.

And I think you can learn a lot from Bux here as he gave you a nudge in the correct direction. Might say it is rather a sledgehammer than a nudge. But hey.

SnapSlav gave this post some rads
I must apologize for this, because it's rather contradictory to my firm-stance against the culture of passive-aggressively radding "you're poopy" posts. However, I felt in this particular instance, it was both hard to resist, as well as a post that wasn't simply instigating nor inflammatory and was a constructed criticism towards someone well deserving of it. So while I do regret succumbing to that all-too-familiar urge to "join the club" and show your support for someone bitch slapping a deserving tool, at least it wasn't nearly as bad as far, far worse offenses of as much as has been previously displayed... not incidentally BY those same aforementioned deserving tools.

Unnecessary public apology now out of the way; well said, nice and enjoyable comment, and carry on! =D

As for these...
I have to admit, I'm asking myself whether this guy is trolling us or not.
My vote is on "no". Now let me explain why...

What constitutes a "troll" has changed over the years, but like words such as "gay" and "fag", saying it has a history of meaning something light and innocent does NOT excuse its largely intended modern meaning, which is far, FAR more likely. Yes, trolls back in "the day" were deliberately controversial in order to spur on thought-provoking discourse- NOT providing the actual stimulating conversation, but provoking it -but this is not what trolls are vastly considered to be, today. By and large, mostly as a product of increasingly embracing the "deliberately provoking" behavior WITHOUT the ulterior motives of "causing stimulating conversation" as it was increasingly moved away from, trolls nowadays are simply caustic, vitriolic, mean, antagonistic, and serve ABSOLUTELY NO purpose outside of provoking conflict for their own amusement. The latter, bolded part is the key distinction between the "classical troll" and the troll as it is considered, today.

Whether they are capable of putting together a coherent line or two or not, that's irrelevant. It's that they're proverbially baiting and inciting people online for shits and giggles. The phrase "don't feed the trolls" arose BECAUSE addressing these kinds of lowlives would serve no purpose, as they had no purpose other than absorbing all the belligerence and attention, so addressing them simply gave them greater satisfaction and drive them to "contribute" even further. There would be no way to discourage them other than ignoring them.

So what is 5545Trey? Well, he's clearly an on-again-off-again user who isn't dedicated to NMA but enjoys coming round. He can spell properly and fuck up spelling properly, so it would appear grammatical errors are the standard deviation of "mistakes" rather than deliberate. He tries to offer solid and debatable discussion material, though in a scattershot manner where throwing out a number of smaller topics in quick succession is sure to garner some attention. He isn't always successful by any means.

He is NOT a troll. Sorry, but no. No matter how infuriating any of you might find him, he's just a guy who believes what he believes, finds himself prey to moments of weakness, and wants to discuss things. Maybe you don't like him, but he ain't trolling you. Are there better examples of trolls who are members of NMA and are present right now? Perhaps participating in this very thread even? Oh yes, most definitely. But as I mentioned in the conclusion of 2 "paragraphs" above, the only true solution to them is ignoring them, so naming them would be highly counterproductive. Suffice it to say, Trey may be rubbing a bunch of your the wrong way for perfectly legitimate reasons, but NONE of those reasons are "because he's trolling us".

Do you even know what trolling means? How the hell can I be a troll when I am able to type in formal English, with good grammar, spelling, and punctuation?
As mentioned above, the defining feature of trolls is not their poor grammar (though that is a common hallmark, however not a prerequisite) but rather their actions and personal-amusement-seeking intentions. You banging your head against the wall that is people with fixed perceptions about you (which are only worsening, not changing for the better) is CLEARLY not seeking amusement for yourself. But it's also not very productive.

I think my stance towards you has been clear from the get-go, and that I've never hidden my reactions towards you, but in the event that I was ever ambiguous, I may be able to rectify that now: I don't have it out for you, but I wouldn't say that I like you. You're just another user, and one that I recognize by name. You make mistakes which irk me, but I think I've addressed you when I saw them, and encouraged you to resolve those. I'm not on "your side", per se, but I would keep equal (if not far more) distance from the "side" that's gunning for you.

Don't be so quick to embrace the prospect of being banned from the site and "being over it". Just take a little time to be a touch less abrasive, call less attention to yourself, find your niche in this community, and enjoy your time here! NMA's got its issues, sure, but those of us who love it here are doing our best to take care of its problems and see it into the future. The more users who can contain themselves and contribute to the site, the better. Even if their contributions go against the grain. All the better for that, in fact.
