Davy Crockett was long-range, the Fatman is ridiculously short-range.

Accuracy on your posted comments around here is pretty important though I've found, with good reason
mulaalia. You made an assumption without any evidence which therefore makes it inaccurate until proved otherwise
No matter what Bethesda says there is no rectifying that the Fat Man Portable Nuke Launcher could not load an actual nuclear weapon unless all kinds principles of biology and physics are violated. Even the most compact tactical nuke would have a more destructive explosion, and if you were unshielded and within a kilometer of the blast you would quickly die from exposure to gamma radiation. I would rather imagine that the device is actually a dirty bomb using powerful conventional explosives - then the low radiation makes sense as well as the low destructiveness.Doc Brown said:I'm sure that in 1985 plutonium is available in every corner drugstore, but in 1955 it's a little hard to come by.

My assumption is just a theory, and no, theory is not inaccurate until proven otherwise nor is it accurate, in my case it is a hyptohesis (to suppose, assume), and if Beth proves me wrong, THAN it is a wrong hypothesis, but until that time i will continue to theorize thank you very much.

Is there an ingame video with Fat Man? Davy Crockett was (ridiculously) short range too (2 km - that's short even for infantry warfare).
I'm not saying Fat Man is realistic - it isn't. I just wanted to note that there could be such weapon in Fallout and that it could be used in a reasonable way (e.g. to anihilate raiders' camp from distance).

'So you just stroll in and buy a nuclear crossbow and mini-nuclear bolts from a wasteland merchant........and there are actually some people who don't find this stupid?'
if it is just a theory then why did you take issue with it so much in the first place and call it stupid. Its like you are arguing with yourself, which I think you should because this has run its course for me.
