First sign of Chris Taylor reminds me of this

Then I realize is the other one. Phew. :D

A post-apoc world where just a few survived... for me, this definitely doesn't fit for a MMO.

Also, I hate MMOs, they're all stupit (except those Worms like ones, I like them). Not to talk about people who usually play them... But, who knows? Perhaps Chris T. and Jason manage to give a new concept to the MMO genre?

I don't think turn based combat would work in a MMO.
Have you ever heard of Total Influence? I'm sure you have.

It is a couple of hundred years after the bombs fell, the place would be somewhat repopulated by that point in time

I seriously thought of you guys when I first heard this over at Kotaku. Now I wanna see what's up here, and I don't even play MMO's.

200 years? I don't think that's enough time to repopulate the irradiated wasteland.

I wish they would get Scott Campbell back.

I second that, but it's very unlikely. They could hire his company this time around :D

I'm totally MMO ignorant, so I have to ask - do they have a story or is it just a world where there's no such thing as a main plot?

No idea, but at this time, seeing how low the profits from it were and the bad feedback it received, they probably decided that FO:POS didn't really belong to the Fallout series.

USUALLY yes, they have a plot.

Well, everybody shares the same, at least in all MMOs I played (which weren't many).

Never played WOW, but according to what I read about it, the plot changes depending on a few things.

I think most people who play and quickly dismiss MMOs fail to recognize that the socializing aspect of that genre of games is rather central to getting any enjoyment out of them. It's the reason I've quit every MMO I've tried: nobody to play with (and I stayed with WoW for a long period of time only chiefly because I did have people to play with). Except for Phantasy Star Online. That I quit because the hacking was so rampant and virulent that it simply boggles the mind.

Not to say you can't honestly dislike an MMO even when you have a group of people to play with.

Anyway, people shouldn't be too concerned with Herve's influence on the game, I shouldn't think. I doubt Chris and (mind blanking on who the other original developer on the FOOL team is) would have joined up without some assurance of being able to make the game the way they want. Though then again, it's Herve, so it may be naive to underestimate his ability to screw things up.

I have confidence that the minds behind Fallout won't churn out a shit game, whatever the genre.

This might be the first mmo I'll actually consider playing. I'm quite curious how this will work out.

Website looks good (certainly more professional than what they had earlier).
The page looks like crap; Javascript-navigation, table-layout and 233 errors[1] doesn't look "professional" to me.

[1]Edit: direct link doesn't work, type in "http://www.interplay.com"

Will keep an eye on this but Fallout and MMO remain two things I can't imagine going that well together. Perhaps a huge, huge vault filled with a million people opens its doors and they all spill into the wasteland...

Hell YES, OMG SORRY FOR MY VALLEY GIRL SPEAK. This is fucking great news, and I hope the best for Interplay. They have a chance at reclaiming their slogan.

And Diablo 3 will nock the socks off of Diablo 1 and 2 I think. Aside from D3's environment issues(which I'm sure will be worked out), I think its something good to look forward to.

I love you Fallout developers, you guys are a dying breed though. :(

Go Interplay, make us a great game!

Even if the MMO will suck, I see great artworks comming.

exactly bro, im waiting for great artworks too, some cool ideas, maybe also good soudntrakck, even if the rest will suck its always something...
