Interplay's business plan

2010...I guess that they rely on the release of Fallout 3 to have the opportunity to sell FOOL to a whole brand new branch of "fans". Or maybe that they are fucktarded enough to believe that the actual fallout community will, for a whatever reason, welcome their piece of crap, unlike they did with Tactics and P.O.S.

If I may ask, what is the whole obsession with making Fallout Online?

The game series has never been mainstream enough for something like that, and I hope it never does.

Personally I have never been into MMO games, the basic concept is always hack 'n slash to get more experience and coins so you can 'dress up' your character and do some more hack 'n slash without there being much of a point behind it.

I always enjoyed Fallout because it had a story to tell, a story you wanted to see the conclusion of.
It's the same reason why I am not much a fan of a Fallout 'sandbox' game either.

MMO's have their merits.

but to get back to your question, the reason for the obsession is obvious: Herve smells money through a stupid business pitch. regardless of the success of the project itself, Herve wins if he gets some investors (and hence revaluates his stock & enables him to pay himself moronic back wages).

Ugh, hasn't the French frog caused enough trouble?

I already wanted to see him burn for cancelling Van Buren.

(apologies to all French members on the board who aren't Herve Caen)

Edit: Oops, wrote down the wrong name, somewhere out there is a Herve Cain whose feelings are very hurt.

Apologies accepted. He deserves atrocious sufferings for being clueless, for having cancelled Van Buren and replaced it with an even worse project and for his desperate attempt to rape Fallout once again.

It's Herve Caen by the way.

You might want to apologise frogs as well ;)

lol

Anyways, if he gets any investors then I belive this will mean they are stupid enought to loose their money and well deserve it.

Okay, apologies to all frogs and other amphibians that are insulted by being compared to this well... man?

Come on Frog, such stupid people should be protected from 'men' like Herve Caen, they don't deserve to loose a lot of money because of some tricky 'leech'.

So when do we have a fallout online forum :)

or are we all going to pretend this is not going to happen.

Well at the moment it looks like it is going to happen. Someone will be dumb enough to fund the project.

How was Herve involved with wow anyway? I've never heard about this. Anyone care to enlighten me?

He voiced Orc grunts... grunting. :D

I think he drove in the Blizzard parking lot one morning before anyone was actually in the office could see him and laugh at his '78 Ford pinto.

Hey, Puuk. This is a week of pleasant surprises; first Chris Taylor stops by, and now you.

So how is Tabula Rasa coming along? You aren't in any way involved in this terrible not-work-safe corruption of youth, are you?

PS: Every time you double-post, God kills a kitten and Herve finds an investor for Fallout Online.

Hello Mr Foletto (hope I got the name and the person right)

How is it going?

Does Herve Caen drive a '78 Ford pinto?

He wasn't. Shock of shocks, he is lying.

And, his "REACH 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS DURING THE FIRST YEAR "
is a steaming pile too. That is more than EQ2 and COH combined. He'd be hardpresed to reach those numbers, even with international markets. Not Even Matrix Online and D&D online can reach that goal, and those are well known IPs. While Fallout, as much I love the game, is a very niche market.

The best, the very best, FO:OL could hope for is 100,000.

...with at least 80,000 "chosen_1", "v4ult_dweller229", "ch0sen juan" -style usernames.
