Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

thought I might as well make up this but here we go.

Hello this is Valdetiosi, or simply Valde. Fallout 3 was my gateway to the Fallout series and when my friend offered to play previous ones, I was first turned off by the isometric system and lack of action. Years to go on, I received New Vegas, appreciated it by being superior in gameplay and storyways and gave out try for previous Fallouts and came to like them.

I was a console player at the start, until at the time of having PS3 I realized that some games are on PC as well, which tempted me to switch over for the computer. I have collection of over two hundred games, ranging from Nintendo 8/16 bit classics to early and obscure PlayStation games. I still play with them every once in a while.

I actually didn't heard about NMA until years later of receiving New Vegas at 2015, thinking it was place to really, hate about anything. It didn't take longer than Arnust introducing me to this group, that prompted me to create up account and try to discuss about Fallout as much as possible.

Haha I can see that. It had its problems no doubt, and enough plotholes to sink the Prydwen, but I thought all in all it was pretty good.

And also, Nick Valentine, John Hancock, and Codsworth being able to say my name kind of make me blind to most of those faults.:)
 
As long as she doesn't go around telling how FO4 is superior in every way to originals and/or how originals suck or whatever, nobody will really give her a problem. Plenty of folks came here after FO3 (myself included) and nobody bothers them as long as they are not assholes. We still haven't had FO4 folks here which got converted tho.

I guess I'm still shaking off the preconceptions of this place. I'm actually surprised how grounded and mature people here are contrary to what I have heard over the years about this place.

I also hope you and I can start over Killa after our little... "clash" a few days ago. Bless.

Takes a lot to ruffle my feathers, and I really dont care about which is the best or superior, I just like the games and leave it at that.:)

NMA's bad rep is not baseless. This place was very toxic in Van Buren days - even before that - but once Fallout got killed for the first time by Interplay, people's patience went apeshit and this place was a cespool (I myself wasn't a witness, but I did read archives here or there). Bethesda fanboys came only later, when most people were just disappointed and nobody really gave a shit anymore.
NMA can still be pretty harsh if you poke a hornet's nest, but most people here have been posting for years and are mature individuals. The only incidents that happen are with trolls and such who came around every so often.
All in all, NMA is quite pleasant. I'm biased, obviously, I've been on this website almost every day for the past 7 years, but I can tell the good from the bad apples.

That being said, you should know The Order is not NMA, same rules don't apply down there.

As for the thing the other day, no worries. Shit like that happens all the time, but we all good around here.

Hi folks, my name is Kaitsar, and I've been getting more into the original fallout games.

I played Fallout 3 a few times in the past 9 years, but I didn't start getting into it in earnest until I got it on steam last summer, and spent over a hundred hours and many long nights going through the game. Then I got New Vegas which was even better, and another time sink. Eventually, my interest in the lore was piqued and I bought Fallout 1 & 2. While the original games are hard as hell, and a bit clunky by modern standards, I am loving the lore and world design, as well as the huge map. I hope to be able to get into the rhythm of the originals more.

In real life, I live on the west coast of the US, and just got done training how to be a CNC machinist. For what it's worth, I can answer a lot of "how it's made" questions.

Overall, this looks like a fun community, and I am happy to be here.
 
Hello!... Right then, first off: I haven't actually played the games. Heresy given the fact that I actually joined this forum, I know, but I have taken a sort of interest in the general universe/lore of the game. Also been lurking around here for several months. It's been rather interesting (and frankly a bit amusing) reading some of the discussions on the fallout games and universe around here as well.
 
Hello there. My name is mildly convoluted, so I wont retype it here. Im a long time lurker in these here forums, and I finally decided to make an account.

Fallout credentials: Started by briefly playing Fallout New Vegas, then switched to Fallout 3 when I figured out the chronological order of the newer games, then went back to New Vegas. Played Fallout 1 after that. Planning to play 2 and Tactics eventually.

Other than that, Im a somewhat jaded skeptic with a cynical view on many things. Which, of course, includes Bethesda and the future of the Fallout franchise. So I will be trying to make meaningful contributions in other aspects (no promises on whether Ill actually succeed, though).

Hello all. 26 years old, first played Fallout 2 when I was 9, been in love with the series ever since. Managed to get my own copy of both 1 and 2 when I was 15, and played through them back to back. While I haven't played the original two in years (they really do not like my hardware), I have played through New Vegas twice (so far) and was in love how it recaptured the spirit of the classics. As expected, disliked 3, never played 4 and have no intention to, generally pretty damn bitter and cynical about the direction of gaming as a whole.

I have a Blogspot that I use as a side hobby where I write editorials on gaming in general, and after finishing one about how much Bethesda screwed over an aspect of Fallout I remembered this site and... here I am. I won't post it unless people actually want it, because I know that unsolicited self-promotion is a dick move.

So yeah hi.
