Jagged Alliance 2

They have NV goggles as you do and many things depend on mercs and greyshirts lvl. But yes the AI has uncanny ability to spot mercs or get shots in from long distance with pistol where even 100 marksmanship guy would be able.

Hehe SkynetV4 I know the feeling, that has been happening more often now,. Because that I stick to night ops mostly and for that FN-P90 god send tool. By the way if you thought mortar was bad, think what they can do with some of antipersonel sniper rifles. They need just one spotter and BOOM one of the mercs goes down.

*digs this topic from the land of the dead and uses the powers of a mercenary necromancer to bend the barrier between life and death. Sorry, Mods.*

Well, I cleaned some Hard Disk space those days, and I wanted to get myself a game. I found JA2 Gold + Unifinished Bussiness one of those days. Now I'm playing since last night. Goddamn, this game KICKS ASS!

My team: The Fury (myself), Barry, Grizzly and Fox.
I began in the first town and kicked everyone's ass there. Then I found Miguel, and was sent to Drasden. Kick-ass time again. I took the two first parts of town, but had to stop, buy supplies and heal and rest before going on against the Drasden's mine. After I was full of ammo and supplies (I swear that Pablo guy is stealing my stuff!), I atacked the mine. That was a good shoutout, and we kicked ass and even found some gum! The people were grateful for my assistance, the miner began to mine, I trained some militias and everyone was happy! Suck on that, queen bitch!

However, 11 goons atacked the airport! I trained some militia (I think there were about 6 militia with me, along my four mercs), which served as bullet magnets while me and my pals fought them. The battle began good, but they entrenched themselves in some trees southwest of the airport, and then they began to hit Grizzly (who had a Thompson) hard, until they somehow killed him! Damn! I'm gonna take a bath and then AIE UILL BEE BEQ!

Indeed. The only thing J.A 2 lacks is a multiplayer/coop mode. Other than this, it's still the best in its category and by far.

I read on Wikipedia that the Steam version of JA2 has some serious bugs (ie: giving too much money to the player).

If I buy this off of Steam, can I patch it myself, or is it tied to Steam's patching system?

Thanks!

You should be able from ini file, but you have to upgrade to v1.13 first.

MrBumble Mp mod is in the works form and not ready yet, will see how that mod turns out. For more in check Bears Pit forum.

I just bought this game and was wondering if I should play the 1.10 version, or mod it up to 1.13.

Any suggestions?

Err most of the talk is about 1.13 version since its being constantly updated. So answer to your question is you can try both then compare. But most prefer 1.13.

Steam should patch it to 1.12 at the very least (last official patch iirc). Play at least one game vanilla then try the 1.13 mod, that way you appreciate how much work they done. Though it does run a lot better on xp using 1.13.

Which FAL there are so many versions of it? In last versions im drifting more toward G11 due its lighter wight, bigger magazine and better accuracy.

Not sure Herr Mike it depends how fast you want it. Personally I bought mine on CDs around 1999 and didnt have much problems with it. But a lot of people have complained about the version on Steam, that I cant comment on before trying myself.

By the way how many people use combat drops? By that I mean flying on chopper to hostile zone and commence battle in middle of the map? I found that its usefully for night ops, since in daylight you are surrounded by firing squad. At night doing it with silenced weapons you have chance of killing all in one turn and having somebody with enough AP to interupt.

I started playing JA2 and I love it. A combination of Fallout and JA2 combat would be the best for me.

Jagged Alliance 1
Jagged Alliance 1 - DG
Jagged Alliance 2
Jagged Alliance 2 - Uninished Business
Jagged Alliance 2: Gold edition (This release added the improvements from Unfinished Business to the final release of Jagged Alliance 2. Unfinished Business is included in the package.)

"Brigade E5: New Jagged Union" is like a Jagged Alliance 3. I played with that, played to the end. Great game. There are few irritating bugs there, though. (Like the women can't wear helmet, and there were a mission, you must talk with a commander, plant a bomb and run away, but I massacred every enemy on the map, and the mission line was broken.)

But I think the game is great. 8-)

There is a "Brigade E5 2: 7.62" too, but that is only Russian I think.

I liked BE5 too and "Brigade 7.62: High Calibre" was actually released last month here in germany. Its not as enjoyable as BE5 imo, mainly because of the clunky programming in general and the horrible localization and other questionable design decisions. I read a lot about improved roleplaying elements though, so i think I might give it another shot sometime.

I own the german version of JA2:Wildfire. Does anybody know if it is compatible with 1.13?
