"Kid In The Fridge" Quest = the stupidest quest ever.

Actually, if I had to chose between Bethesda and Bioware, I would gladly give Fallout in Biowares hands. I mean we all know what it would look like, they could not deliver on a real Fallout sequel either. They would fill it with their typical tropes, hamfisted moral dilemas and cliche-writing ... But still, it would be a lot more enjoyable than what Beth did with F4. I mean Bioware CAN deliver some quality.

But that would mean forced multiplayer with microtransactions...and day one DLCs, and Frostbyte engine, which makes Fallout unmoddable.
At this rate with how shitty each new game runs in Gamebyro, you'll be lucky to get 20 FPS by the time they release the next game. Then you can have fun trying to enjoy those mods in a mediocre game that can't even push 30 FPS.
Sorry for being harsh but I had to get that off my chest, I mean I would trade the ability to mod if it meant a true Fallout game. Hey and if that did happen I'm sure they could figure out something. Of course the PC gaming community tends to persevere and stay persistent to get results.

yes but....microtransactions? day one DLCs? you really want them to open that can of worms on Fallout ? Weren't DA:I ME:3 and SW:BF enough reasons to stay AWAY from EA?
Who says they have to use microtransactions if they use a different engine. If they were going to do that then why not now or when Skyrim was released? Well then again they tried paid mods and you know the end result. I'm sort of feeling as if Fallout is a lost cause to try and stay optimistic about its future as long as it's in Bethesda's hands but yet I can't help but hope for another good Fallout game because I enjoy the lore among its other lovely features. Maybe I'm giving up too soon thinking like that but it's hard to look at what it has degenerated into and think "You know, maybe we'll get a really good Fallout game next time". I want an isometric turn based game though if we did get a really good Fallout game. Sorry for my rambling. :P

Bioware is owned by EA. That's the problem, the marketing policies and decisions is made by them and not Bioware. and EA forces that shit into ALL of the games made by studios they own because those studios have no say over how that game is going to be published or sold. And I doubt Bethesda even allows Fallout to be developed by a studio owned by EA because that would make EA it's publisher and not Zenimax, all of that juicy profit is going to go to EA's pockets.

Best bet is to give it to Obsidian to develop the game for Bethesda/Zenimax to publish.

It's a lose - lose situation anyways but atleast if Bioware had a wack at it I'm sure the result wouldn't be killing everything along with radiant quests and drooling enemies that prefer to kill themselves and buddies by suicide.

It's ridiculous. I'm afraid I won't even be able to play Mass Effect series a couple years from now because they have always online-DRM for it. Oh, they don't SAY they have always online DRM for Mass Effect, but try playing a game when it says you cannot connect to their servers. You literally cannot play Mass Effect if it cannot connect to EA servers because Origin says it has an Offline Mode but if you try to use it, it doesn't f***ing work.

And what's more insulting, you cannot play Mass Effect with DLC without being online and able to connect to EA's servers to validate your legal DLC purchase.

Also, Mass Effect 3 still costs over $70 because the DLC is always full-price and never on sale, and costs more than the game itself.

Lets not forget Dragon Age Inquisition's entire fucking story is based off of things that happened in DA2 DLC, yeah that's not trying to sell your back catalog.

It's too bad they wouldn't just sell the franchise to Obsidian or someone that will treat the franchise with respect so to speak.

Well, when it comes to shit like this the most reasonable solution to me would be to just pirate it. Now now before anyone goes around calling me a thief I'm not talking about pirating without paying for it. I'm saying, you buy/bought the game from their origin crap so you own it, you legally own a copy of the game. Pirating it is only so you can play the game on 'your conditions'. You bought the game, so it ain't really piracy. That's what I would do if a game didn't work on Steam 'because of Steam'. Then the way I see it I legally own the damn thing so if I want to use a third party to get a copy that fucking works then it's not really wrong.

I mean, it doesn't solve the larger issue at hand here about EA and their bullshit but at least you'll be able to play the game without having to deal with all of the origin crap.

If one day they do sell it, it won't be to Obsidian. It will be to someone with more money. Be it Valve, EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Square Enix, or 2K. But not Obsidian. Not by a long shot.

Heh that would suck to see "Fallout, a division of EA" if Bethesda decided to one day sell it and EA got its greedy fingers on the franchise. I mean it already sucks now how the lore keeps getting bent over and raped but that might be worse.

Fallout is such a cash cow. Bethesda would be mad to sell it to anybody. What we should hope is that they won't buy any other license to ruin it. Imagine one second Bethesda buying the license of Planescape, or Icewind Dale.

I want them to do it. If they ruin enough licenses, then maybe even the most fanatic Bethestard will open his eye, and BGS headquarter will be burned to the ground by an angry mob of gamer armed with torch and pitchfork like during the Glorious French Revolution. This day will be forever remembered as the liberation of the gamer nation from the tyranny of Todd Howard, and Emil Pagliarulo and the birth of the cRPG Republic with Tim Cain, Chris Avellone and Brian Fargo as dictator for life.

Dream on mate, dream on.

Who owns the license to Planescape, Icewind Dale and Baulder's Gate anyway?

The gameplay might get screwed over, but I don't think the lore will that much. Apart from the ME3 ending, BioWare still keeps the lore up well, especially prevalent in Dragon Age: Inquisition. And BioWare is probably going to be who Fallout gets delegated to should EA buy the IP. Considering how repetitive the gameplay already is, the only way it's going to go with EA is up with better lore (but also, Enclave Tesla PA pre-order DLC :seriouslyno:).

Dude I never played Fallout 4 but hearing this quest makes me question if it's worth my time or should I just focus on escaping 4 stars with a bicycle on Gta V?:whatever:

If you play it based on the fact that you do enjoy GTA V, it's probably worth your time... on sale? It's a pretty solid action-adventure game with open-world. Good crafting system, if you've played other games and enjoyed that part too. Like a cross between Far Cry and Borderlands.

If you play it based on the fact that you liked Fallout 1 and 2, it wouldn't be worth your time even if someone paid you to play it.

Dungeons & Dragons, Planescape setting and Forgotten Realms (D&D setting used for Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale) are all owned by Wizard of the Coast. So technically if someone want to make a new BG, PS or IWD game, they have to ask WotC. I remember reading somewhere on the internet that only Atari Interactive has the right to make game based on D&D ruleset and setting.

WotC and Atari are both subsidiaries of Hasbro.

Disclaimer : I may be completely wrong.

Hasbro... hmm I don't trust big toy companies in treating their licenses well.

At least their are not creating stupid game. I'd rather have Hasbro leave BG, IWD and PS dead, than profane their tombs and rape their dead corpses like Bethesda.
