"Traps" don't exist. Nobody spends years of hormone replacement therapy, social transitioning, laser hair removal, and perhaps surgery just so they can trick someone into sleeping with them. That's some dangerous Wile E. Coyote bullshit. There's no un-dragging with us trans gals. What you see is what you get. Those are our real boobs and hips. No, you cannot touch our boobs unless we invite you. And HRT works WONDERS. Does more than grow boobs and widen the pelvis.

I grew up with Mortal Kombat and always thought the girl ninjas and Sonya Blade were sexy. I also played Street Fighter and was partial to Chun-Li and Cammy. I'm not all that good at fighting games, though. And then there's Shion and KOS-MOS from Xenosaga.

If anything I'd say that trans panic defense is actual transphobia. Not "traps".
Any trans person or crossdresser is at risk of this if they're not honest about themselves to whoever they're pursuing.
"Trap" really has nothing to do with it. Insane transphobia and deceiving trans/cross people are at fault. (the former far faaaar more than the latter, but you can't poke a bear and cry when it rips your arm off that you're not to blame for your own harm)

The only way I could think of a "trap" being harmed for trapping around is if they post some pictures on the net, some guy sees them and goes like "yeah boi!" and then the crossdresser/transperson reveals the cock and the guy makes it a mission to find and murder the one who "turned him gay" because of actual toxic masculinity.

And how often does that really happen?
I'm sure it has happened.
I've seen someone shit diarreah in a plastic bag and pull it over their head in the tub.
Everything has happened.

But is using the term trap somehow increasing the risk of trans/cross people getting laid six feet under? Doubt it.
I can understand if someone finds it insensitive as it is based on the idea of actual entrapment.
But to me it's just a bodytype for cross/trans people. Just like a strongman or someone who's THICC.
But insensitivity is not phobia.

I'd say perpetuating the stereotype doesn't help things and could indeed increase the risk by reinforcing cultural homophobia. There's tons of research on the harmful effects stereotypes have on people, wether they are directly affected by them or not.
And people have been beaten to death just for being flirted with while trans.
 
Trap is just a porn category to me. I couldn't care less about how tran people feel about the term because it has nothing to do with being trans. Because traps aren't trans they're male.
 
@Mr Fish It perpetuates the belief that reacting in a violent fashion to sleeping with someone trans is okay. Describing someone as a trap is making their very existence somehow deserving of violence because it makes out that they're being deliberately devious, instead of, you know, just wanting to get laid. I get what you're saying, words are words and they shouldn't affect anybody, but considering the violence being done to trans people I personally believe there's probably some connection.

Anyway, I didn't want to get into this topic too much as it goes off topic on rating hot video game characters. The trap comments just made me a little uncomfortable. @R.Graves I wasn't aware that it was a porn thing, so thanks for clearing that up. I've only ever heard the phrase "trap" being used by people who would start considering what violent things they'd do to those who "trapped" them (yeah I've known a lot of messed up people)
