Main enemy for F03....

I sure as hell don't want to see no BIG BOSS in my fallout 3..... in mario ok.... but F? fogeda bout it.....

There should be real multiple endings including huge fights with hundreds of troops on either side.... tightly connected to the story not just some carnage without meaning and consequencess....

And a few other different ends ...like leaving with small group of people and finding some safe place long away from the destroyed world....something like that.....

And a few more.

The big bosses should be moved to big enemies part.

That you would take care along the path of the story, even turn a few for yourself.... if you can.

And it would be cool if you could like.....
come to that battle thinking you will be fighting alone....doomed etc.

And than everything you did in the game would come into who will come to help you, if you saved some deathclaw say...or some people...NPC-s, Cities, Ghouls....whatever, whoever.
So at the end you would get that kind of reward too aditionaly, for being nice to some beings from the game. And in would be nice if it depended on which way you helped them.

Or if you played evil kind of dudete than it would be something similar.....again...multiple solutions. Variations.

Gang, or something similar.

I think the water merchants should come back. Well I think the whole universe should become more "scavening" due to people finding all the stuff already. A new eve of destruction due to people only thinking about themselves and using up everything. This should awaken old memberships and get back to the reality what wastelands are. A place with slim hope of survival...specially without water...and guns :(

No big bosses...just some mean bastard, but.... I would like to see an enemy that you can basically encounter anywhere (random encounter) that WILL make you run. If you don?t have a portable nuclear grenade, you?re fucked if you don?t run. A enemy that can only be taken down with a particular bomb. Nothing too special, that you would need to hunt down that bomb for ages, but something that is quite rare and hard to get by.

Seriously, if you look at all the events leading up too the end of Fallout 2 there are not that many viable enemies left.

The Chinese? Last I heard, some of them arrived in a sub. Since China was one of the major players in the war, I'd say they were hit just as hard as the US. That means close to no military apparatus, small communities of survivors etc.

The Muties? Sterile. While their life expectancy are far above any human, no capacity to breed would probably mean that their population is dwindling.

The Ghouls? Can they reproduce or not? If they can, then they might take the place of the main enemy in Fallout 3. If not, well then the muties case applies here aswell. Would they even be an enemy in the first place? I both Fallouts they seemde to have an, albeit uneasy, peace with most humans.

BoS? With their agenda it seems improbable that they will strive for power too such an extent thar people/other factions view them as a threat.

Enclave? Dead and gone.

Robots? Let's not go there.

Deathclaws? Well, depending on what type of enemy you are looking for, Deathclaws might fit the bill. Deadly, capacity to breed, thriving in the wastes etc. While not as fun as the Master (or even the Enclave) was as an main enemy, their presence could be more of a looming threat. Thus the focus of the game could shift more towards the need for communities to work together against a common enemy.

I think master (or something like him) could return..and enclave could exist too...having a single main enemy is boring :)

Two foes would be fun :D..mutants and armored guys humm

The Master is dead. Bringing him back would probably screw up canon all to hell, and probably scare the living daylights out of Harold. ;)

the main boss should be rife with some kind of ironic social commentary. eg. religion in fo1, militarism in fo2. maybe fo3 can villanize the entertainment industry!

Now the Unity had remnants of the Children (mixed with other types of people who joined later), however, they weren't really a direct threat, if at all, in FO2.

i hope you're not misinterpeting my suggestion. i would be angry. I was merely responding to CCR's quizical ejaculation at my previous comment.

the concern i have is that the "main enemy" is relevant in the sense that it follows the formula of the previous games. it can't be some crazy weird mutant or a fly-ball twist from left field sheerly for the "woah" factor. Though I must admit, the master looked pretty grotesque, and i never expected a crazy religious cult or a government-conspiracy-throwback from prewar days!

which got me thinking: was the satirical element in the previous FO games main enemy a genre expanding element (video games do rarely tend to provide anything beyond "crude escapist entertainment"), or was it homage to kitschy sci-fi? i realize that such a direct question betrays a shortcoming in understanding and is better left for remedial grade schoolers, but humor my mushy-mind.

I never had it...was master a machine? a mutant? wtf was him?

And he wasn't human..and not human things can always come back

heh, the master is dead allright. OK so the fallout univers is not that focused on realism but when something is blown into pieces and then had an a-bomb detonated prrrretty close...it's dead, vaporized, melted, burnt, radioatvised, smashed, crushed, and well, it has siezed to exist. The Master is dead.

He's not out there', he's passed on! That master is no more! He has ceased to be! He's expired and gone to meet his maker! THAT IS A LATE MASTER. He's a stiff. Bereft of life, he rests in peace, if you hadn't leveled him with a nuke he would be pushing up the daisies! He's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! THAT IS AN EX-MASTER!
