Megamod 2.3 technical issues and suggestions

Ok, so I went back to Arroyo with the GECK, got the final speech from the Shaman, then went to Navarro, killed nearly EVERYONE off.


My problem it seems, is Maria never went aggressive, she's still friendly. I can't seam to inform her of the Toxic Caves in Klamath. She either chews me out about a uniform, or asks me if I have anything to report. Anyone know what the hell is going on?
 
I think you can tell her about the Toxic Caves only if you dont visited Broken Hills. About that uniform - You will have to wear some kind of Power Armor.

Yeah combat groups can be sticky.... e. q. in New Reno is Taxi driver in same combat group as Prostitutes, so if you kill one of them he will attack you. Shame :(
 
How the hell am I supposed to complete the game? I think I've only got about 8 more years till it ends. D:

Um... the same way you always did. You have played an unmodded game, right? Despite the addition of new locations, quests, and NPCs (and bugs), the core game remains the same. The new way to get to the Enclave hasn't been added yet from the Restoration Project.
 
But in Abbey there is Poseidon Oil Computer which can probably blow up whole Enclave! (I'm assuming this from this computer dialog file).

I've actually never played an Unmodded Game :X I read up on Fallout 2, and all these mods adding new locations, so I poped a mod in and went to town. >_<

Because the mods seemed to properly work aspects of the game the devs couldn't do right.

I mean wtf is the point of having AP munitions if it doesn't actually work like Armor-Piercing rounds?

I just uninstalled everything anyhow, would you have any recommendations for mods that don't add new locales or radically change the game?

Because I really don't want to play Vanilla Fallout 2 with all the wanky aspects that aren't working propely.
 
I have noticed that Mayor of Carson City is very buged - he is described as "Error" and talk with him cause game crash...

Also in Vault 14 - I have repaired power generator but lights didn't turn on (if they are supposed to turn on).

Is also correct that door behind Ardenius have a same script as Vault 14 Enterance Door (you need to unlock them with Vault 14 key)?

Try killap unofficial Fallout 2 patch;it's really near the original.here

For me I really like MIB88 work. But also play Restoration Rpoject, Mutant Rising, ... even if there is some bug, those mod are really good to play.

As for the AP "bug" you can use Fallout 2: Weapons Redone v1.7 for more realistic ammuniton and weapon damage here. Compatible with killap work

I'm used to a different quality of mods, honestly put the Megamod needs some serious work. But its great otherwise.

But I think for now. I'll just enjoy Vanilla witha few minor tweaks.

Would I install them both in any order, or is there a specific order to install them in?
 
Hi! I've got a game crashing problem when changing maps and entering new locations lately (screen stops with the swirling globe staying still.Memory leek is getting worse now, with more than few main locations on my way crashing..).It all started while coming back to Vault City after handling Raiders (before entering EPA though, I've read someone had simillar problem after this location). As somebody had suggested earlier, I've tried leaving some equipment behind and clearing the trunk, but it didn't seem to do much (I'm not too sure if I'm taking care of SAV files correctly, but I believe I do...). I'm running 2.34 version, anybody knows if there is any chance we've got a patch for that?I'd be gratefull for any reply. K
 
Another know problem, nobody know why is game doing this... I just recently have to done due this problem whole Vaul 14 again...
 
That was quick!Cheers mate, I've got a few saves from earlier on, so I'l probably try to follow my steps to determine where it happened, just to leave some more info about it for future generations. Thanks anyway. K
 
The problem is that at loading of entering places (the ones which can be selected on Local map - e.q. in Den it is East and West side) cause that game dont writte on Harddisk and using RAM to store datas. Game will be using more and more RAM until game crashes. No one know why is this game doing and how to fix it. My personal opinion is that problem is in Savegame folder - because it will crash in places that you visited in past (and are saved in your savegame folder - deleting will not fix it, only make it worse).

Does it happend in previous version of mod? Because I think that Weather mod (and ddraw files) are new in this version. Problem may be there.

pressing any 2 on my keyboard enables the lockpick skill.

He means: click on the little triangle to enter the location from the worldmap, then press '2' when you are on the screen to choose which area of the location you wish to enter. Although you have never been to that part of the Tribe, pressing '2' will take you to the second map.
 
Aw... another Random Memory Leak... I have deleted ddraw files (In try that ddraw may cause this problem) but it still happening again. It is not random. I tried older save and it happens in same place over and over again. But at least I can tell that happens only in Exit area (or the Areas that can be selected from Local Map). I had this problem in Klamath, EPA, Golgotha, Vault 14 and now in BoS Reaserch Facility...

Very strange and also funny. Looks like windowed mod give me another try, but I think that was luck or misstage. Fullscreen can't cause this.

And right now i got corrupted whole save game. How unlucky day :(
 
Does this mode include Gloves' armor fix mod or any other weapon redesigning mod, especially concerning lazer weaponry and AP ammo? Saw nothing about this in the Wiki.

No, Glovz mod is not part of it, but I think it's compatible, as are Magnus' weapon mods. AFAIK, no reason for any conflicts.

Just a thank you for things I didn't know about. I took your words and added to my english page, but I gave you credit so I hope that is good for you. :)

edit: Keep your records and keep posting your experiences with bugs. I'm sure MIB88, killap, Timeslip, and others are always looking at these and the answer to these ancient bugs will be revealed. Maybe we never have the source code, but the wise ones can figure out a lot with more details we find. And then there are more Russians that speak english than English programmers that speak Russian, so maybe Team X will be the ones. :)

Not sure what you are talking about as far as 'different quality of mods'. This must be other games you are referring to (?) Killap's RP is is better, with 99% of the bugs gone and more content than any factory disc release you might have. Megamod uses one of killap's patches as a base, so most bugs are only because of things not being fully implemented yet.

Fallout was never better quality than it is today, so if you know a better mod we aren't aware of, please let us know.
