Megamod 2.35 technical issues and suggestions

Some questions about ddraw.ini:

How does this works?

;The modifier key you have to hold down to change any speed settings

Does it means that if I rpess ctrl + some key the game will run faster?

And how can I set some key in this one?

Default is 42. I don't know it is a number or some key. What should I set if I want to toggle highlighting by pressing "h" key?


Another bug - BoS High Elder - I've arrived month after he told me to give him one month to prepare Vertibird invasion to Enclave. But, he has only Error dialogue and description and when he teleports me, screen is black and I appear in the Glow (I had to quicksave there, end the game and load). I returned to Elder and soon as I arrived to the 4th floor, I was teleported again to the Glow with black screen.

i.e. they're directx scancodes. The first hit on google for 'dx scancode' is this nice useful list. (42 is the left shift key, btw. h is 35.)
 
VAULT 23

Wow found there heck of bugs.
1. Going there by the car is a one way ride. There is no place for the car so it disappears.
2. Using the first elevator, gives u 2000xp + "u have found Vault 13". Every time u use yd

3. Floor on lvl 2 is not fully done. U can't go to certain spaces. Hex not finished.

4. On lvl 3 during a serious fight the game can freeze, during one of the NPC turns. Also during and after the fight VIC became transparent:/

5. Lvl 3 , object found on one of the bones, gives description of a door, while being put under scrutiny says its a holodisk :p when u use it, it has 50/50 buggy screen, with NO correct option. What is it for anyway?


6. One cannot save in the Nest location! I got it on one save and it's unable to load now :evil:
P.S. The rat god will not attack u unless u start a fight. The little ones should watch and learn :P
 
What version of the game are you using? Issues 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 have all been fixed as of 2.35.

Hmm I going to venture there once again, do you know what to do with that holodisk/door :) ?

BTW If a change it to those 2.35.1 or 2 are the saves going to be f up?
 
I said that 5 was fixed. And I don't know if the saves from before 2.35 will work. They might work. But, even if the games do load, if you don't start over certain fixes will not take effect. (This also explains why you couldn't find what you needed from Carlson.)
 
Did you use a rope on the elevator first?
Are you saying the game crashes EVERY time you kill that mutant?
What happens when you put the lightsaber in your hands? "Not working" does not help me understand.

Thanks, that fix it, somehow I never have idea to use the rope first. But in next floor, after several steps I´m teleported back to first floor, but in combat mode I can walk and open door as usual. Then blue elevator crash game with rope or without(Nwm my version(it is 2.35.2) have own ideas sometimes :) ).
Yep 5/5 times when I kill him(usually second shot with Steyer), but if my companion take him down, game continues(2/2 times).
With lightsaber: sorry, I´m wearing PPA and I didn´t know that one don´t have animation.

So there is no way to get weapon upgrade training. Well even with Int on 10 and high skills and after I check every floor for some clue, then I looked on GVars and there is line: Skynet brought online... :oops:

Solved. I get in to the Ruined City location before I visited Redding. When I load old save and get the quest first and then I found location, quest works normally.

I don't remember this exactly, either. However, I'm pretty sure that you can't get the upgrades once Skynet has been placed into a robobrain or sentrybot.

I think you have only one try to learn weapon upgrades from Skynet - you have to choose line "What research?" and then pass the Science check (hard check I guess). Then you should be able to upgrade high-tech weapons.

When I talk with the quards ("front of the house"xD), I have only 2 option, first one is the enter a combat with them and the second one is the leave. Is it normal?
 
I think you have only one try to learn weapon upgrades from Skynet - you have to choose line "What research?" and then pass the Science check (hard check I guess). Then you should be able to upgrade high-tech weapons.

I just played through this a few days ago, and I found it a bit counter-intuitive. You not only need to choose a specific line that you get pretty much only once, but the logical line to choose at that point will cut you off from having any further conversation with Skynet. If I remember right, the conversation goes something like:

Skynet: You are the first person to come here. I have been waiting for you.

You1: What are you?
You2: Why have you been attacking me?
You3: Why have you been waiting for me?
You4: Goodbye.

You need to choose the second option to get the research bits, and if you choose 3 you're put into the 'help skynet leave' path and can't ever have a conversation with Skynet again, even after you put him in a brainbot with the cybernetic brain. If you try and talk to the console again, he just tells you to go to level 4. If you go to level 4 and return with the brain, he'll already be out of the computer system and you can't talk to him until you put him in a robot. If you put him in a robot, you can't actually talk to him - you can only tell him to do stuff or ask him what skills he has and what weapons he can use.

If you get through SAD following the optimal path, you won't even have been attacked by Skynet except by the turrets defending the complex, and even then you can take them out before anything else happens. No alarms will have been tripped, so path 2 isn't very logical - and it's certainly not the logical path for figuring out how to upgrade weapons.

It's a holodisk. All it is is the final minutes of life of the guy hiding in that storeroom.

And that location is not the EPA. That's just what the map is called. And it is normal to only get those options if you don't have permission to enter.

As for Skynet, I'll add an option like many of the others throughout the game. Basically, I'll add something like a "Let me ask you something else" so that the player can ask further questions of Skynet before necessarily agreeing or not agreeing to help Skynet.
 
I noticed that Abbey quest getting data from BoS:RF is still called Get the data from EPA computer.

Hehe. I was cheating (sorry) and suddenly I got trader test from Slik. Every time, so I guess chance for getting it isn't random at all. Also it doesn't matter on your Barten skill. Is seems that you need to have certain statistic. Can anyone tell me what stats should I have in order to get Slik's test?

P.S. This NEST area is a real bugger, all my saves made after entering the last location of the V23, are unable to load!! :crazy: Thank God I have one save left from lvl2
 
I dont know if this is a bug or not, but.....

I found outside vault 13 a MK2 armour and a powerfist plus a geck and a fallout 2 handfbook. this as you enter the cave of vault 13
 
Ok, to save the MIB88 guy some time, I'll answer it.

The stuff you find at V23 is because he was using it in a test and forgot to take it out during the last patch. It's not supposed to be there, he knows it's there, and he (should) remove it in the next update when he remembers. *Shakes a finger at MIB88* >_> You forgot to remove it last update, don't forget this time. :P

I didn't forget. It wasn't pointed out until after the second update. :P

And I have already fixed it. I will release another small update later this week or early next week. So far:

-Made a few fixes to the Glow
-removed items from Vault 13 entrance
-Vic, Cassidy, and Robobrain can use certain scoped weapons again and Sulik can use the wakizashi blade again
-Slight changes to lightsabers (two colors now; swing weapons)
-Numerous small dialog corrections
-Continued implementing changes to some aspects of the Lootable Armor mod.

An updated Vault 14 mod was made that I am trying to implement now. I think it offers a little more for players who are not as combat-focused. I am also trying to add in another new critter and might also add the 'drop item' code to a number of critters.
 
Will be fixed Den Computer and BoS: Main Bunker (I would like to try take quest becaming Paladin or Scribe)?

Forgot to ask, is there any way to get reward for scarring (or knocking) of Torr? Dunton brothers told me to visit them in city, but they give me no reward (100$ and 250xp according Mortica's guide). Neither Sajag gives no reward (except for sale)
