1. You need attribs "read-only" (r--) on *.pro files. Assign through system. Is the read-only issue only for winrar? What if I use a different extraction tool?
@_Pyran_ If I use the alternative sfall you suggested, do I have to hex edit fallout.exe?
1. pack files into dat (patch000.dat)Figured out that Android won't allow you to set folders or files to read-only unless you're rooted . Been playing with don't delete protos in sfall options...been fine so far unless I play with another character.
Also just wanted to say it runs kinda slow, not too bad, especially when I kill an enemy it lags a couple seconds longer. I assume its frm files being loaded for animations and such. Wanted to know if I can delete any files that aren't essential for the mod because I play 640x480 on a small device so I dont need high res assets...make it leaner and meaner.
Does this method work on android? If so, then I don't argue. There's an easier way.... just use /mod/ folder method. Proto files aren't deleted from there and you don't have to deal with anything read-only related.
Move all files into YourFalloutFolder/mods/Megamod/ and add "PatchFile0=mods\Megamod" to the ddraw.ini file (under "ExtraPatches").
If you don't fuck up the folder structure inside /mods/, everything should work as before.
If you want an example of how this works, check out etTu, it's setup the same way.
ok, thanks.@_Pyran_ I'm gonna try it later, so I'll let ya'll know probably Saturday.
Personally, did not check Fallout + mod on android. Heard about method: emulator + win9x and special sfall edition for this.If the rest of Sfall works, then I don't see why it wouldn't? If Sfall only partially works on Android, then truth told, I wouldn't even try to play Fallout mods on it, because the chance to run into troubles somewhere down the line is high.
