It has always been there. I thought I had gotten rid of it when I included some code from one of your fixes. Anyway, I noticed it at least as far back as update 2.

On another note, does that thing heodien mentioned about Lenny sound familiar?

Hmm..well from initial rummaging, I don't see any problem with the script. I suppose I shall have to look deeper.

Nope...but then again I have only taken Lenny once on my travels. I shall add this to my list of things to check out, though it may have more to do with the different mods you added in.
 
I'm having a problem installing megamod. I currently have a retail version of F2, v1.02

I basically opened the zip file, double clicked the exe and let it run through the setup. Once it reached 100%, it gave me an error message that said something about incorrect font type or something... can someone help me?

Don't run the .exe that comes in the zip. You have to first copy all these files to your Fallout 2 directory.

To install:

Copy all the folders to your drive letter\...\Fallout2\data directory. Then replace the exe file in your Fallout 2 directory with the one that comes with the mod.
 
Thanks for the help. Is there anything else I had to do to run the various mods or does it automatically run?

Nope, once you copy over the files all the mods will be set to work. A good test to see that the mega mod is working is that once you enter the temple of trials if you see bones on the ground, that means you got everything installed correctly.

Really weird, then, because I have him in my party without that. Hmmm. You aren't over your natural party level due to charisma, are you? If so, drop off a few NPC's and then try to get him. I noticed this when getting Skynet. I can get him in my party based only on natural charisma level. (I guess that makes sense for him, though, since a machine might not be susceptible to that perk.)And, not sure yet if it matters, but what is your reputation in Gecko? What dialog options do you even get? Does he even mention wanting to join your "grandsire"?

One more thing to clarify: You said you are using the infinite party member mod too? Is that right?

I am working on including one last batch of Killap's fixes. As soon as I get those in, I will take care of this one.

As i said, i have 10 in charisma, and about the mod, i've tried with it too, but i use without it, i use only your mod, today i used infinite party to see if it would work, no results either...
No, he never mentions the grandsire....It stops on the part that we should get the dialog asking him about the vault dweller, also did it in new vision mod 1.1 and 1.2, and also on your previous patches,well, i have no reputation, because its the first time i go in there, but i've tried on the older updates to do all the quests, didn't work too...
 
I dunno if this is a bug or I'm doing something wrong...

But as I am about to fight the dude in at the end of the temple (very start of game), the dialogue goes crazy. I think i end up saying what he's supposed to say, if that makes sense...

It won't let me fight him, and then when I try to lockpick past the door, the cut scene freezes up and the game crashes

I got a fix up for this that might work for the lenny issue you are having. Try the file found below.

One more thing really important. If you have a file called patch000.dat in your main fallout folder, make sure to delete it. You aren't supposed to fight the man in the temple. It is another sort of challenge. Also, you don't have to lockpick that door if you pass the challenge.

Also, to Killap: thanks for looking at those. I will test those out as soon as I can.
 
The Shaman's mortar doesn't works inversion 4, there is no hand icon to activate it in inventory :? wht's goin' on :(

No, it works fine. Equip the mortar, then use it.

This is probably a dumb question, but in the readme for update 4 you say it will not work with previous updates, you have to start over... do you mean it is required to uninstall everything, then reinstall with only update four, or is it possible just to apply update four, and you were refering just to previous savegames? If it's the latter, I might add to my suprise that my previous savegames work fine (perhaps because they were quite late in the game).

Sorry...and it's not a dumb question. I meant that your previous saved games will not work. You do not, however, have to reinstall everything from scratch - just apply update 4. I have found that there are certain files that, when changed, totally wreck any chance of using any previously saved games. The obj_dude.int file is one of them...and that file was changed.
 
Thanks for the info and for a great mod! Good idea to compile all of those mods, really makes for a cool experience.

Tried those two files out. No joy. Miria still disappears. And I was not able to get Lenny using an earlier saved game I had. Not sure what the deal is about Lenny, because I have him in later saved games. Maybe I got him after I optimized the power plant and I had a really high rep in Gecko?...

And to H-K: Thanks. The first release was a project that took me almost 9 months. Harder than it might seem, originally, when I was first getting started. Now changing certain aspects is easy. Oh well. There will be more to come. The next parts should include some stuff from the Black Steel mod as well as the demo (the town of Scrapheap).

Wait...no good with Miria? I seriously tested that one for an hour and it finally worked as it should on my system. I was using update 4 of your mod. Perhaps you need to try a fresh game...though that should not matter since it is just a script. Do you maybe have a save before ever entering Modoc?

As for the Lenny issue, I admit I did not test it but I did alter some things that would cause the script to not let you get Lenny. It was checking a global variable rather than a local var. Give me some time and I will actually test the updated script.

Wait a sec. There was something I hadn't considered. In the saved games I used to test out those corrections, I had visited both Gecko and Modoc before. Are you saying that some remnant of the previous script might have been saved on the map before I replaced them with your new scripts? If so, that will definitely change how I test scripts out from now on. Thanks again for looking at these.
