Something strange is happening. Klint and Sulik is gone !!!
They are here with me, but I don't see them. I know because I can't access the car trunk because Klint stays there when I saved the game.
Your Mod was unmodified when I saved the game. I began modifying after that and when you told me to not delete the 000000050.pro I just reinstall everything.
But I think I messed something up because I played a little bit with FRM files. (I just added some FRM's from the "vintage.firearms.mod.v1.1" but only weapons!
That's odd...
Well... I will play a little without them to see how the new guns look like.

Edit: I know what's happening. The program I used (F2wedit) not save with read only attribute, so some file is deleted from the game when start. Anyway I will restart a new game because I like those new weapons. I'm an old guy, you know....
 
Another option would be to rename the .frm files from the vintage weapons mod to ones actually used in the game. Then there are no protos to edit.
 
I did that, but after I screwed up the game...
Now is working fine.
I will test again the reseting level on the party member once I have Vic. I let you know what's happening if I found something.
But also some fans of Mod, it will need to test this...
I only have few days to play this formidable Mod. I'm in short vacation now, and I need to go in another country to work, so my time is very limited.

Edit: I found something strange. In Klamath if you use Mr. Fixist you can't do nothing, every option is not click able and you can't make him quit, only if exit the game to desktop and return back.

Edit: My PIPBOY show an EPA Quest (1. Plant the laughing gas.) I'm in Klamath so...
If already know about it, sorry to repeat this.
 
Bug reports

I'll keep editing this message adding as I find more.

1) Klint is called 'Villager'
2) Asking Klint to heal himself doesn't seem to work and sometimes he heals you instead. He gives the dialog as if he healed you.
3) Klint CUSTOM combat option does come up even though it is gray. All the choices are gray and none seem to be changeable.

4)Mynoc says he'll teach you to sharpen spears and you get the message you are as good as anyone sharpening spears but the flint has no interaction menu and there's no Trait for Spear Sharpening added to character sheet.
 
Alatari are you sure, about Mynoc? Tell him to sharpen another one and another and then....
I confirm "villager" for Klint and about combat option try to get for him, some amour then see what happen. But don't save when you give the amour and load right away. Just make a little trip outside in the World Map with him equipped with the new amour. Then you can save/load your game without crashing.

3 - just give him the weapon you want ; like a Bozar, do not give him any other close combat or loaded gun. He will use it.

4 - Try the binocular on you... that help...
 
Hey MIB88 one question please and correct me if I'm wrong.
Klint is leveling up now like normal NPC? Because she did that and the taunts above his head was "GRRRR". And in bottom window write "Klint is gain in some abilities"
Klint also level up when I give armor.

I think the 'grrrr' is for the Robodog. But Klint levels up only when wearing no armor, leather jacket, or leather armor. Other than that, he will change level completely every time you put more advanced armors on him.

Klint has other names too, that I need to correct (like Hero Male). The dialogs are switched, but there is another problem: if he is wounded and you tell him to heal himself, he still tries to heal the player. I cannot reproduce these errors with the combat options.

I cannot reproduce this error with Mr. Fixit in Klamath. Everything is working fine.
The problem with the quest has been corrected.
 
About Klint.
That was really strange for me too, when she level up! And after that she give me a lot of trouble but I managed to calming down, eventually.
I just kill Kaga when that happen. (level up)
For Mr. Fixist I don't know what's happening, but I'm pretty sure something is messed up.
I think I getting old, and forget things...
 
Is there a way to "reset" a scrip after saving???

At Navarro, lower lvl, the guard of the commander door; first time you talk to him there is some different option.
So could I "reset" the script guard to be like we never talk ?
Like the firts time I speak to him?

For most people, no. You have to reload to a point before you entered the map. The only other way is to literally change/rewrite the script (decompile, change, recompile) and perhaps add in new local variables that would change the conversation you could have.
 
Hey MIB I forget to tell you about some hole in walls in Vault City in second map. Is the building were Valerie is (Maintenance Center). Is a very old one...
 
I just used the mapper to check this and used the character to run around. I couldn't find any holes in Valerie's workshop.

Anyway I will wait your nest release and restart again.

Try this. Go to the North of the building (but you need to have Vic with you), and then make a run and enter in Valerie building. Make sure Vic is a little behind. She will cross the building right in the middle
Try this a few time, if not succeeded for the first time.
Like I said, it's an old one.

No, there are too many changes. Even if I did not change a lot of files, but changed only one (like party.txt, vault13.gam, and a couple others) then the game would not work. Many files you can change without a problem, except for these few. Besides, even if you could still use your old games, you wouldn't be able to see all the changes if you didn't start over (or at least restart a game that is very close to the beginning).

@IAR80: Ok, but I will have to check that in-game (and not the mapper) some other time, then.
 
OK. Last post today (I hope)
Before deletion of 00000062.pro Sulik and Cassidy have reset they level. Now I managed to make them both level up simultaneous and they don't reset level.
You said that file is for Vic, but that somehow reset the level of the another NPC's. Maybe the game make some weird confusion and reset all NPC level. Maybe...
And we need to think seriously to make master.dat and critter.dat. The MOD is already huge and I think when is error free we need to make this new master and critter.dat.

If someone else wants to put every single file into the master.dat and critter.dat files, then they are more than welcome to do it. The only program that I have heard of that works completely right is one where you can only add one file at a time to a dat file. I'm not going to do that. Putting everything in .dat formats means that you can't have just small dowloads/fixes, without putting together and downloading the whole thing again. Even zipped, you are looking at almost 400 mb with downloading two new and improved critter.dat and master.dat files. Besides - I have no problem being selfish - this format is working fine for me.

Or do you mean putting everything in a new patch000.dat file. This would be easier than new master and critter .dat files, but still a big task. And it still removes the possibility of creating small fixes, since the files in the patch000.dat file always overwrite everything else.
 
No the patch. I know what problem do with the small fixes, and I know the master will be huge, but when you'll finally have the new graphic patch and all the fixes, I think it's better to make a new master. Besides, then we have a brand new Fallout2, which you, with the help of the all other great MOD maker make it for me and for all the Fallout fans. For this... I tank you.

1)Klint
1.2) Asking Klint to heal himself has never succeeded in 15 tries.

1.4)Klint leveled up with 'Grrrr' text and has 12 AP and 275 HP and is wearing leather armor. Barter option shows instead of Combat/Trade.
1.5)Leaving him there- asking to rejoin several times gets him to 175 HP and 11 AP. (175 HP for 2nd level is WAY too many HP and unbalancing)
1.6) Combat options aren't gray anymore. They are all invalid at first with 'error' in two slots. His main weapon is listed as 'small guns' which makes me believe he is cross linked with another NPC.
1.7)Took 5 tries to get him to show up in Klamath with me.
1.8) Klint is left in Buckner's and Sulik is with me. Attacked barricaded door north of Vic's and got a message "Klint missed." Got in bar fight with Dunton's and Klint came running to help. He is referred to as Klint instead of Villager while not on your team and fighting.

(Going to dump him for Sulik cause he's too buggy)

4)Mynoc will sharpen 2 spears then says he'll teach you to sharpen spears and you get the message... "Oh I didn't know anything about Mr Fixit. Will play around with it"

5)Getting encounters with bandits wearing Metal armor before reaching Klamath. Metal armor shouldn't show till after the Den (Too unbalancing to be wearing Metal armor and just reaching Klamath)

6) Slim buys gecko pelts but never runs out of gold. Only place where gold is mined is Redding. Everyone else has to scrape or steal for gold. Gold was supposed to be hard to get your hands on. This infinite gold supply is very unbalancing.

7) Lost drinking contest in Gecko with Dunton message after waking up says 'commoners has swilled your with beer. Swilled your what with beer or is that supposed to be 'you' not 'your'?

8) You give Sally a beer and she lowers the prices of Bath House. She says 25 for hand wipe and you say '35, that's...' 35 should be 25.

9) Dialogue with Emily has entries too long so they overlap the next dialogue choice.
9.1)If you insult Emily she attacks even though it's obviously suicidal for her to do so. Rest of Trapper Town goes bezerk.

10) Busting down the back door of Golden Gecko gets permanent aggro of the bar flies and Sajo even though there were no witnesses to you breaking the door.
