Hm. Fallout 4 has quite a few good points, horrible writing aside. Mostly good "ideas", badly implemented, but still, good ideas.
-I liked the bar where Magnolia sings. Great ambiance and overall great setting idea.
-The idea of wooden, makeshift guns is good.
-I like the crafting system.
-The Diamond City soundtrack has a surprisingly emotional effect on me, I don't know why. It's just beautiful. I don't like the rest of the soundtrack, though (it's good, but it's a heroic fantasy soundtrack.)
-I like the Power Armor gameplay. Feels like driving a tank, and it's a good idea.
-I really liked the dialog with the Mr.Handy serving drinks at the upper stands, even if he's not lore friendly. I found it amusing, and it wasn't over the top or immature.
-I liked the presence of a school and a farm in the main city. Also, I liked the fact that kids were active, working people in the said city.
-I liked the idea of the laser musket. It's original.
-I liked the glowing sea. A different experience, reminded me of the glow in Fallout 1.
-The Prydwen's arrival (when it's not buggy) is pretty cool. The voice acting kind of ruins it, though ("we are... The brotherhood of SHHTEEEL" felt really over the top)
-The weather effects are nice. The radiation storms are a good idea. On the same subject, I liked the landscapes and the lighting effects.
-A handful of sarcastic answers were actually funny. Most of them aren't, but there are a few good surprises.
-The scene in Kellogg's head is surprisingly good, well written and feels cinematic.
-I like the "potential" of the characters. Piper, a post apocalyptic reporter ? That's potentially a gold mine, here, it's a shame that in the end, she's a soulless Lydia who abandons her business and family for nothing. Curie could have been an amazing character, someone YOU'd help in her research, not the other way around -her voice acting is also pretty good-. I would have loved to see how a reporter deals with her researches in a post apocalyptic world, for example. Hell, I would have loved to play a reporter. That would have been a very, very interesting approach, pretty much like the one for the couriers in NV.
But what I liked the most :
Proctor Ingram. She felt in her place. She's a good, well written character, who doesn't adore you for no reason. She has a simple, yet effective backstory and she's not oversexualized or anything. She's strong, but not over the top badass. Her voice acting is good. Long story short, if I had to remember one character, it would be her.
