New Fallout 3 Screenshots

Counting from 100 to when he's gonna get flamed.

Why? He's right, and I think everyone sane understand this, except the
Take away the turn based and add in all the new graphics and you've basically got what Beth have so far as far as we all can see.

I think we should reserve judgement on it until we actually play the game

p.s. so were you serious about that anal rape thing
p.p.s. i fail at ninja edits

As for the story depth; I dunno, maybe. But the're trying somthing new, perhaps they will give F3 lots of depth and role play? Make it all the things we love Fallout for except its real time.

I've only ever played Elder Scrolls 3, Morrowind.

That had everything fallout has. A basic "Go get the water chip" mission with hoardes of side quests.

Except this time its "Find your father and find out why he left the Vault" Which will undoubtedly lead on to another 'big' quest and perhaps another?

Meh, I hate to break it to you, but Beth's story-lines are about as simple as a horse on anti-depressants, and have the dramatic caliber of an Adam Sandler animated comedy.

Well said, good sir.

Although, when I think of a horse on anti-depressants, my mind inevitably wonders to Animal Crossing.

Except you had no bloody choice when it counted, the emperor for example, if you knew where the assailant was coming from, you couldn't do anything about it.

In Fallout you could, you could bypass the entire game grab the water chip from the Necropolis and be back in time for next week's brunch.

That's the basic jist of it, however in Oblivious, you're forced to be the emperor's stooge while in Fallout, you could do whatever you bloody well wanted, including sell out the vault to the master!

I think Beth is doing a good job at converting an old title into a modern game.
"Next gen" you mean?

no. they've screwed the style. One of the Fallout's most distinctive features was it's unique style. It was stylish as hell. And Bethesda's crap is not. It is not even that they've screwed Fallout style. They are making nothing but kitsch.

It looks to me like they have kept a lot of the style in. The pipboy looks as I would imagine, the Vault, a few other bits and bobs. Sure its not going to be a carbon copy of the ofiginals but I dont understand how you mean they have destroyed it. None of us have even played the game yet here we all are tearing it to shreds (including myself) before we have even had a chance to watch a gameplay video let alone play it.

Why do you think they have screwed the style?

Super Mutants, PA, Laser Rifle and so on- the same style?

I expected more from someone who joined NMA in '04 but you're making the same mistakes as bethtards on their forum, like "Sure its not going to be a carbon copy" strawman because nobody-is-asking-for-a-carbon-copy.

before we have even had a chance to watch a gameplay video let alone play it.
Ohkay, so it's only BN and Sua who can tear it to shreds because they've seen the demo?
Well, do your worst gentlemen.

nooo not that official fallout 3 website!! that woman in the far right looks sooo bad... yuck! it should be prohibited to post that link...

'bout those screenies... well um... hope they ship the game with vomiting bags

let's pray that stalker clear sky will be good! <- my first choice in PA-ish first person shooting :)

i only played stalker after all the patches were out and the game was fixed, so i didn't ever get to play the buggy version that everyone hated... but man, that game was stellar. and clear sky is on the same engine, with a few of the same maps and is a prequel. i'm not much of a betting person, but if i were to bet which game would be more enjoyable(fo3 or s:cs), i'd put my money on clear sky.

In terms of style it just about exceeds my expectations, in terms of making use of that great engine it fails badly. I will defiantly buy it, looks a decent if not great game. It's fair to say though it is not really Fallout in any way, shape or form, which as people have said raises the question why buy the name?

Cheer up people, at least it looks miles better than PoS.

lolz.. suddenly you fanboys complain about gfx, but if someone mentions FO1 or 2 then "nah, GFX doesnt matter".. you're teh funny!

this game will be miles better than brotherhood of steel (made by interplay.. lol)...

That's a pretty low standard.

Trolling is a bad thing and you got two strikes for the post and your username. So let's cut the delay and just ban you.

Change the name if you want to stay here.

to sell it and make money ofc. that game is going to sell, and 5 million+ will seem like chump change when all is said and done.

Strange, how come there are so many optimistic people now than before?

Anyway, van Buren looked horribly in it's state of realease (here on NMA) and worked even worse, so I guess we can't judge the game just yet.

What I was trying to say, is that this is probably a very early stage of the game, so they still have time to boost it up. I sure hope so.

Perhaps, but it would have been nice to see Beth finish what Interplay started rather than create this wad of Oblivious eye-candy.

That way at least we could be hopeful for a good story...

Bottom line is, what Beth is creating will appeal to those who liked CoD and Oblivion. No matter how much "depth" or "story" they will try to inject into it, it will still be different from what hardcore Fallout fans always wished for.

Going from isometric, turn-based to real time full 3D is a major change, no matter how you disguise it.

Personally. I would try Beth's F3 and judge it on its own merits, and not as a true Fallout sequel.
