NFL 2010

Why do the Vikings build me up, only to crush me?

Is Favre in on some secret plot to make me commit suicide?

You're asking this NOW? That's the whole point of being a Vikings fan. It's the meaning of life.

Well, it was a secret...

Seriously though, Chilly needs to learn his place. Favre runs the team and everybody knows it.

The right decision would be to bench Brett in favour of Tavaris Jackson. I don't know if T-Jax is the answer, but Brett is currently the worst QB in the league (by DVOA), so it's not like you can do much worse.

I find it hard to peg my team's 4-2 record. Still smells like a 9-7 NFC West "winner" who backs their ass into the playoffs for a one-and-out, but who knows, we're pretty good at home and having a solid run D helps in the playoffs.

Odd year, anyway. But fun!

Brett's magic cannot be quantified by these deceptive "stats" and "facts", the man's passion knows no metric.

True. I'm having much difficulty finding the words to describe the courage and grit with which he relentlessly throws interceptions.

Fact: Chilly doesn't have the authority to bench Favre.

Nice win by the Pack today in an ugly, smashmouth game. You're welcome, Cimm. :)

The young players for GB are really doing a good job. If the team can get Jolly, Grant, Finley, Burnett, and Barnett back in full next next year, and if Woodson, Clifton, and Driver can keep chugging for one more season, the prospects for a championship run should be very good.

Sounds like the London game was pretty lousy. Too bad for the Eurofans. Hopefully the next game you get will be better.

The NFC is such a trainwreck this year that Seattle has as much chance as anyone. After watching them beat Chicago decisively, I don't think there's anyone in the conference they absolutely can't beat. They're still a longshot, but I'm not sure there's any NFC team that isn't a longshot.

Seattle's chances against a team like Pittsburgh are not so hot, however.

Not like this. Our defensive line is gutted by injuries, as is our O-line, and we're getting blown out by the Raiders.

Some bad breaks made that game look worse than it was, but a nice reminded that my doubts about my team's legitimacy are right correct.

Anyway, time for the topic of the day

Baby need a nappy?

PS: So after all the "he broke his jaw?!" bruahaha, all he had was some cuts that required 8 stitches? He needed to be carted off the field for that?

Can even Vikes fans now deny that he is beyond a drama queen. And with how he plays, how's he even worth the drama?

Ooh, nice. I haven't been near a TV since the end of the Packers/Jets game, so I don't know exactly what happened. Don't tell me, though. I'll enjoy finding out for myself. :)

Yeah, I was hoping the Patriots would oblige the Pack in kind...

Happy Halloween indeed.
-Jets shut out at home, vacating 1st place in the div.
-Kids finish trick-or-treating w/o incident, in time to catch 2nd half of Pats game.
-Moss a non factor in game, post game reinforces why he was traded.
-Payback for Favre for SB XXXI.
-Danny fucking Woodhead.
-Pats reclaim div. lead from vile Jets.
-Steelers loose to Saints leaving Pats as sole 1 win team ???

That Adrian Peterson head fake is a thing of beauty though. How do you fuck up coaching an offense with Adrian Peterson? What good reason can there be for not feeding him the ball for 4 quarters every game?

Jesus, fuck off Chilly.

Did anyone else hear those comments Moss made after the game? NOBODY on this team respects Chilly. He is the source of our problems and has been since 06. He's an arrogant, dry humored, douchebag who simply cannot connect with his players.

Come on Zygi. I know you want this team to win. You've shelled out the big bucks for the big players, time to shell out the big bucks for the big coaches! Throw some money at Cowher, Gruden, hell make Dungy an offer he can't refuse!

It's Chilly's fault that your QB is terrible and your D-line a shell of its former self? How'd he do that?

Gee, Moss goes into back-biting mode when he's not featured to the level of his liking. I think the surprise here is that he's mentally broken down already after only a month. I'm telling you, this cat has a fragile psyche, I thought he was going to cry last night. And he couldn't shoot his way out of town here fast enough. Is he bi-polar?

He's still not re-signed, and really didn't make a good case for why he should be after last night. And if he doesn't want to be there anymore, he will shut it the fuck down, as you well know.

I'd take issue with Chilldress' play calling and scheme in general. For an offensive guru he gets a lot of illegal procedure and 12 men calls. He gives Gerhardt too many touches too.

I actually like his sense of humor though.

I don't think indiscriminately throwing around money is the solution to the problem. Blame should start at the top for whoever adopted the "win now" mentality. In adopting that they've basically made themselves hostage to the whims of Brett Favre, who... this whole thing is just a big, fun reality show for him. I at this point in his career, this is all just a great big wank for him. He's playing the part, performing for the cameras.

Well, it was his idea to sign Favre :)

If Childress had guts, he'd tell Favre straight up "You're not performing well, we need to make a QB change until you feel you can play well again". That's what it takes to be a head coach in the NFL, the ability to make tough decisions, and benching Favre, although seemingly shocking, makes a lot of sense in perspective. 41 year old QB taking too many shots and throwing too many picks? I think any other QB would be benched.

As for our d-line, I don't know what's going on there. I think they pointed out last week that Leslie Frazier is selling out the pass rush or something. Regardless, it's extremely frustrating.

Yee-haa.

So radio here is reporting Randy never left Boston after the game and is still in town.

So...there's actually a chance the Patriots walk away with a 3rd rounder, Vikes have to eat his contract and a humbled/appreciative Moss who is now willing to accept reduced salary/decoy role comes back. I'd be shocked if they took him back though. Just underlines how much of a headcase he is. I really don't see a lot of teams jumping to take on Moss, his salary and his baggage at this late point. He could clear waivers...

The Childress pre-game pot-shots at Belichik make him look like a special kind of tool right now too. When you look at the opposite directions that these two teams are headed in, and the Moss deal in particualr- you might not want to talk so much spiteful shit Chilly.

At least the Vikes had the balls cut Moss loose. Cowboys are still a bigger debacle IMO.

edit:
If Moss can't cope in NE or Minny, he'll be simply toxic elsewhere.

Still, he looks like Bill Walsh when compared to Mike Tice. And who knows, you might end up with a pretty good coach in Frazier. Chilly has a huge salary they'd have to eat though.

WEEI is reporting that Childress didn't even cut Moss, Moss just told him he wasn't coming back. What a flake. It's a shame to see all that potential wasted by a headcase.

I hate to say this, but I can't conceivably see him anywhere else except back in NE at this point, and even that I think is a long shot. He'll only effortate when he wants to, that's too big a risk for other teams. It's too big a risk for the Patritots too I think. The guy just showed you how he can go from savior to cancer in less than 4 weeks. Good luck whoever lands him.
