Unbelievable, GB lost another game purely on bad defending. Who the fuck allows a 45 yard return followed by a 54 yard pass on the pivotal drive? Is this Detroit or what? Might as well giftwrap the game and hand it to the opponent.

Yeah, it's pretty funny (or sad, depending on your point of view).

I don't blame the D so much for giving up a long pass to Steve Smith, 'cause that's bound to happen now and then, but extra laps in practice this week for the kickoff coverage team. They're the ones who blew the game.

EDIT: If you noticed, Atari Bigby and Aaron Rouse were both injured again, so Charlie Peprah was playing safety. They would move Woodson to safety and put Williams at corner in passing situations. That's how multiple injuries eat away at the cohesion of the entire unit.

and the offense was looking so fucking good in the second half. fucking mother of fucking fuck. at least i racked some decent fantasy points from Jennings and Rodgers. of course Grant's ass was benched.

Good god, Plaxico Burress is a dumbass. Guy had the world on a string. I was listening to the FAN today, and they're saying he will never play in a Giants uni again and they are going to get every penny they can get back from that big contract they just signed him to.

Good for the Giants for pulling the trigger. erm.
My respect for the NY football giants, it's organization, coach only grow out of this. And I'm a freakin' Pats fan - I still wak up in cold sweats with visions of Plax burning Ellis Hobbs.
What a waste.

Yeah, Plax ate Al Harris for lunch in the NFC Championship game last year, too. He's just too tall to defend when he has a good quarterback who can put the ball in the right spot. You'd need a 6'5" cornerback to do it.

The thing I always remember about Plax is that time he caught a deep pass for the Steelers as a rookie and then spun the ball on the ground in celebration - except he wasn't down, so it was a fumble, and the other team recovered it. Shooting yourself in the leg trumps that, though.

Well that and he's tied with Randy Moss for Master of the Push-off Award. That's a skill that will come in handy on Ryker's.

I'd say Michael Irvin is still the undisputed Master of the Push-off. He won three s'Bowls and got to the hall of fame with his patented push-offs. No one playing today comes close to his ability to violate the rules on every reception without ever getting called for a penalty.

Moss and Plax rank amateurs by comparison.

jesus fuck. why am i still watching these idiots?

That's a good question! :)

I've given up watching them for this year. They can't win a close game at all, so it's better for my disposition if I concentrate on next year. They're going to end up with a decent draft pick, and if Favre can get the Jets to the SB, they'll have two first-rounders.

OK... If anyone watched the Seattle / New England game... You've got to be asking yourself... Why the holly hell is the officiating THAT bad... Pretty sad when even the sports casters voice their disappointment...

I...I think you do...

Seriously tho', I have a feeling the defense just quit about 2 weeks back. I'm actually surprised MoJo hasn't run all over 'em yet.

Go Jets! I meant Bretts!

P.S.
I clinched a berth in my fantasy league championship this week. 8-)

P.P.S.
This post exists in order to deflect discussion away from the Packers.

Your championship is now? Ugh...don't tell me you guys have a play-offs system that runs into W17, because that always sucks

No, no. Championship is next week (16). Final four was this week. No fantasy season should extend to week 17. It's too screwy with players being rested for the playoffs. I think I would refuse to play in a league that went through week 17.

For what it's worth, our league has four divisions of three teams. Each team plays every other team outside its division once, and each team within its division twice. The four division winners make the playoffs along with two wildcard teams. The wildcards get in based on total points, and the two division winners with the highest total points get a bye the first week of the playoffs. It's been a very good system, since it compensates for some divisions being stronger and some weaker.

For example, if the three highest-scoring teams in the league were all in the same division, they would all make the playoffs.

P.S.
Deflection successful!

So's the AFC west, they should have their playoff spot revoked. I'm just getting pissed-off ahead of time for the Pats winning 10 or 11 games and not making the playoffs while a team like Denver bumbles their way in.

Dick Jauron is a dumbass, leading the Jets, 2:00 left, just need to run out the clock, Marshawn Lynch has shredded them all day, let's let J.P. Losman who hasn't started in a year, sling it on 1st down. What could possibly go wrong? And then that Jeff Fisher call where they went for it on 4th instead of kicking a go-ahead FG? These are no-brainers, preseason is over shitheads, it's not TECMO BOWL.

Oh please, as if the AFC East is any good. AFC East, West and NFC West all have no business in the play-offs, based on regular season performance.

Don't be fooled by the AFC East's 9-5 record, they're all shite, facing the only two divisions worse than them (the West's) and each other pumps them up.

The Steelers-Pats game was a good showing of what happens when an AEast team faces a real team.

Well by that standard, there are only two legit teams in the AFC at all (Tenn and Pitt). And I could argue that they aren't as good as their record indicates.
Even the NFC only has 2 legit teams, and the Giants' have been exposed without Jacobs and Plex.
Speaking of which Tenn vs. Pitt and NYG vs. Carolina will be nice games next week.

This is true. The AFC seriously lucked out in drawing matchups with the AFC and NFC West this year - playing Raiders, Rams, '9ers, Seahawks, Chiefs, even SD and Denver is a cakewalk.
