NFL - week 13 seems like as good a week as any

Uh, yuck, Giants-Patriots Superbowel will be about as much fun as last years Colts-Bears. Another boring Superbowel, shti.

Really bad games, too, the AFC and NFC championship. What a letdown.

De ja vu all over again.

We just saw them play, what, 3 weeks ago?

I have the ignoble distinction of living in CT which is in both New England and the NY, NJ, CT tri-state area, so we're in hog heaven here. Of course after two weeks of the shameless, inane hype from all the national media outlets that relly aren't qualified to comment on football the game will probably be not much of a contest as usual.

Arizona's climate is good for the long ball.
Vegas opened the spread at 12.5.
Giants have played inspired football, but can't have much more in the tank.
Pats 35 G-Men 17

actually...i'm fine. but you have NO idea what it's like growing up a Packers fan. it's pretty serious. they actually open "crisis hotlines" and shit all over wisconsin when this type of shit happens. no fucking joke man...people have green and gold houses out there. compared to them...i'm alright...and proud of my dedication to the team! and hell...it's the only sport i follow, and the only team i care about.

It's going to be such a friggin' joke. The Giants already threw everything they had them, not only does that means they can't beat the Pats with everything they have, it means Bellichick now knows exactly everything they have (which isn't a lot, the Giants team is basically a rushing offence with a pass rush in the D and nothing else).

That, at least, should be fun. The Giants have an exploitable secondary and lean on the rush for their own offence.

I think this will be the first Superbowel where the winning side starts running up the score in Q2.

The pendulum has certainly swung.

The 80s and 90s was all NFC greats, Niners, Skins, Giants, Cowboys running it up on AFC teams.

Yeah, NFC had 10 consecutive SB wins at one point in the 90's. But yeah, it's something like 7-2 for the AFC right now (don't remember exactly, it's somewhere in this thread).

But it's not dominance I mind, that's just the way the NFL works. What I find annoying is when the Superbowel becomes markedly uncompetitive and, in this case, the AFC championship is the de facto Superbowel win. The Pack would probably also lose to the Pats, but at least they had something of a fighting chance.

i think this is what most people thought. i still don't get what went wrong last night...

Favre, I'm afraid. Erratic Brett was back again, and you can't pull that, not even against the NYG secondary, not in the NFC championship game. Seriously, it was a return to last year's form at exactly the right moment.

I hate to say it because I'd rather have seen him retire in the Superbowel but...shit I hope he retires.

i'd have to agree with you. if Eli Manning can make you look bad...it's time to call it a day. seriously. aww, good ol' Brett. at least he had his day in the sun.

LMFAO I take everything back that I ever may have said about NY... A-Frickin-Mazing! The last two minutes were so gratifying, that and seem Tom take a beating like no other... Fitting.

Bill walking off the field... shows his character.

He did it last year, too. When they lost to the Colts, he didn't even go to shake Tony's hand. Thinks he's hot shit, right until his best player stomps him out.

And, Tom Coughlin wins the internets. All of them. Same for Eli, Michael, and Tyree. Hell, Plaxico, too. I'm a Miami fan, and this is the best thing I've ever seen in pro football.

hah, taking it to heart eh?

I'm all for a team to do what Miami did... just not the Patriots especially if they are going to cheat their way there on top of their leadership having dick for sportsmanship.

Well, I was mainly talking about the Giants and the Dolphins being rivals (don't know why, they have some sort of history or something), but yeah, that bit too. The invincibility can never be attained again by another team, or the world will collapse.

My town friggin exploded. It's awesome. There's still wayward fans walking by hooting and cajoling. :D

Sorry Twinky, but at least it proves that Pak didn't go down to a bunch of losers.
